I absolutely love the Airfield Test Track for many reasons. Drifting, Pictures, Drag Racing, or just driving around relaxing on a calm Sunday. This concept of an open layout with driving freedom keeps me coming back every title since FM4.
What if we had more of these kinds of layouts? I’m all for more air fields, or concept ideas like old run-down drift parks with obstacles around. I don’t think it should be too catered to playground game style, like the FH series, however if we had large areas next to tracks, like a parking lot jointed with a small oval, it would bring a similar play style that I find very fun already.
This could be a cool idea, since it will not be a real life airfield, they could create multiple circuits for races, even drag strips within this space.
A 1-3 square mile practice track, so you could make this track searchable with both the private lobby, and selecting practice and or clicking online in the practice menu. With several wooded or natural roads around it approx 16 sq miles, it would be littered with every track available in the game as join-lobby-points: How is this different from forza horizon? Firstly, there’s no theme or story needed to be written with the practice track, no skill chains, no zones, just, again a generic track with an outskirt of roads that holds every map. For example you could use my track for instance called Mahto, or even Maple Valley and expand and make up the side roads.
This would be great for photography, free roam, and complete your share of what your metaverse might be… another suggestion is when you do have a roadways with several “houses” or “buildings” to choose from, outside another track, just have check points and off track available for the inner one…
alternatively, to feel the best burn of the metaverse, like massive gains, lol, allowing us to use a track builder on this map would make people cry, “this is the best game i’ve ever played”…
so yeah, you know, you presumably have thousands upon thousands of assets that can be used again to create just a simple 16 square miles, why not make the practice sessions a little bit more alive?
I’m a track guy, open world racing games don’t appeal to me. Then there’s open world people, that come to Motorsport forums asking for open world maps.
They could do the best of both worlds with Horizon, an open world map with tracks located throughout, that would appeal to both types of people.
But you’ll never get an open world on Motorsport, champ.
Thank you, I have up voted both. Hopefully if one of these locations comes to FM, there still allows freedom on pavement sort of like what was in the “Test Track Airfield” or “Benchmark” from previous titles.
The concept of Track + Open Area is perfect for Forza. Seeing Bedford as an option makes me think they could replace some grass areas with more pavement, or revision the Airfield to fit this type of gameplay which was in previous games.
FM4’s Benchmark was legendary. Bring this back or something like it please, I’m tired of just doing laps on 5 different tracks just to level them up. I’d like some freedom
EDIT: The track has been added to the voting section, updated link.
I’ve also submitted a ‘proving grounds’ testing center. This place has a bunch of different tracks for various purposes. All accesible with connecting roads.
Again, it would be great to have one of the layouts in the game be an open area where you can drive around freely.
