Ever since the series 21 update theres been a slight delay on d-pad buttons in the pause menu and im not sure if its just my stuff being weird or just poor optimization of the coding in their latest update. Anyone else having this problem? Both of my controllers do it so it’s either system or software (or user incompetence). Series x
Interesting you say that; I’ve noticed the same thing but thought it was just my imagination (also on XSX).
Mine seems to be the menu itself suffering from micro lag.
Very evident when trying to restart a rivals event - the yes/no dialog that comes up after pressing restart option is visibly delayed. Have some videos of it.
Xsx in perf mode.
That rivals thing is what I have. I’m on a Series S.
Sounds like an entry for the troubleshooting hub. Looks like it’s going to get all the votes…
This is what I see most often
But I’ve also had it when going from different pages
not just Series, got this on Xbox One X - it’s not just the d-pad, it’s anything in the menu, seems to randomly add up to 1000 milliseconds of delay here and there, during which it might or might not remember a button press that didn’t immediately do something
Hmm, and here I’ve been worrying that my newish controller was already on it’s way to the recycle bin. And fwiw on XBox One antique here so I don’t think it’s gen specific. I will have to check the controller firmware now I’m reminded, but, it only seems to be on FH5. And blaming the hardware in any part when it only seems to happen on ONE game seems disingenuous, at best.
Point taken, but out of curiosity, I just checked & there was in fact an available firmware update for my controller, so updated that & did a full restart for good measure.
Before I put in a ticket or whatever, has anyone else noticed the menu system (Xbox One X here) is a bit slow/erratic? For example, start at free-roam, hit burger, menu appears. At this point there’s a random delay in button-pressing. Could be moving from box to box or hitting A to select. Some buttons always take time to do anything, now there’s added uncertainty about whether a button-press has registered, which is irritating. It also adds a double-clicking problem, where the delay might or might not register a button press; if it does register one click then a second is made then it’ll remember the click and so give an unexpected double-click (hope that’s clear). Anyone else noticed this? It’s new.
Thub thread on it already.
Seeing similar on xsx
SO tempted to make a joke about the thread being solved . . .
Same on xbox x…wheel or controler…all updates present and accounted for
I play on PC have same problem.
Yes, just like in Forza Motorsport 7, same kind of input delay, was fine in FH4, but now it`s back again sadly. I also play on Xbox one X, and my controller is only a few months old.
Apparently this is still an ongoing issue, I’ve had two seperate incidents of it being Reported on Reddit.
I’ve asked the Users to reply with more info to hopefully help but I’m unsure if they will.
Delay in highlighting, scrolling, and selecting upgrades in Upgrades & Tuning whilst at Festival Outpost and Player Houses.
Can you clarify - are you asking for the menu transitions to be slowed down so you have longer time to read the screen?
