I’m just saying, if they don’t have roads like Route Napoleon in there, I’m going to be pretty p’d off.

People in these very forums said this with the first Horizon and Pike’s Peak. Sure enough, there was no Pike’s Peak and the people still played.

Where did I imply that I wouldn’t play this game if Route Napoleon ceased to show up? Please don’t go jumping to conclusions because I simply won’t tolerate it. I have my expectations like every other normal being on this planet and if they aren’t met, I won’t flip, I’ll just be a bit disappointed.

Preorder now for the Forzassin’s Creed Unity Campaign Gran Prix.

I was a big fan of Forza Horizon, but one of the things that I really liked was the long stretch of highway it had. It was great for hanging out with people and doing 40 rolls. With the location being in southern Europe, do you think they will give us a long portion of highway again? I know there’s the Autostrada, but here’s hoping…

I’m sure there will be something along the lines of the Autostrada. It might not be as long as Rt70, tho…

An Autobahn would be interesting, but I don’t think they are doing any part of Germany. I’m sure that there will be highways though

Likely. Best thing to do, however, is to keep checking this appropriately named thread for stuff we do know, so far.

With a map 3x the size of the previous one, it would be smart to include at least one stretch of high-speed road to make getting from one side to the other easier.

Amalfi has been mentioned in promo stuff so I would not be surprised to see rally de positano integrated into this game. I think it highly unlikely there will be full real world circuits as they are for FM games.

Haha Fast travel needs to be purchased !!

Are all the roads and routes in FH2 actual routes? If so, how accurate are they? Is there any inner city? Again, if so, how accurate are they?

This is a deciding factor on whether this is a pre-order for me.

I think they’re fictional but made to look similar to the roads of Italy and france. I think what they did was put only the best roads of italy and france in it

I wonder if the French roads will look any different from the Italian roads in the game. I can’t imagine all of the two laned roads using that same texture.

In real life you will notice at one if you crossed the border

If Turn 10 would really like to capture the feel of Southern Europe, Malta Would be a really nice place to add  With it’s changes in altitude here and there and beautiful bays I’m sure it would be a perfect addition to Horizon!

Maybe we will have Stelvio pass in the game. There are some high mountains in italy.

Ok, we all know Turn 10 are masters of spin, and they’ve said things in the past, that have turned out to be exaggerations. Such as Dan G saying in Forza Horizon 1, if you can see it, you can drive to it. Or game video’s showing cars wheelies when you couldn’t actually do them. Things of that nature.
Well, something has changed in the spiel that Ralph Fulton has been giving out, and it has concerned me slightly. It’s only a subtle change, but it’s another example of spin or damage control where they can say, well we did tell you, even if it was in an indirect roundabout obtuse way.

So what has changed? Well for the first few weeks at least during Horizon interviews it was all about the weather, the cars, the map etc. But there has been a very subtle change that many won’t have noticed and i’m wondering if it bodes ill for our expectations. They were originally saying ‘Horizon 2’s map is 3 times the size of Horizon 1’, which sounded great, massive map to drive around on and explore. Sounds epic. However in the last couple of weeks that line has changed to ‘The drivable area is 3 times the size’. Now if that means the open fields are being regarded as 3 times the drivable area, the map could actually be the same size as Horizon 1, just more open. Which would not be the 3 times the map size they were originally promoting. This could be an effect of having two games on different gens, and not wanting one to look bad compared to the other, so yet again we get a gimped version, even though they’ve sworn that’s not the case.
Anybody else noticed this? Just go look at a couple of the first look interviews from IGN, you’ll see 3 times the size mentioned verbatim in each interview. Then go look at a couple of recent ones where it changes to ‘3 times the drivable area’ repeated verbatim in several interviews.
It sounds like a subtle change to cover themselves when people realise it’s been gimped for some reason or another. I’m hoping that’s not the case, but the track record for this franchise and it’s economy with the facts isn’t the best. I’m just wondering if anyone has noticed this, or seen any interviews which clarify the facts better?

This has been talked about quite a bit already, it is a concern for everyone following this game.

Where? Because from the beginning they were talking about the driveable area as far as I know. From the first IGN article, dated 3rd June:
“So that means that not only is the world of Forza Horizon 2 bigger than the one in Horizon, it also has three times more driveable area; a three-times bigger play space” R.Fulton
