Thanks for nothing.

So what’s new then? Seriously, what has this game got that Horizon and Horizon 2 didn’t have? Horizon 2 was basically Horizon with better visuals and the rally expansion scam included and Horizon 3 is Horizon 2 with the same graphics and the extreme off road (storm island) expansion scam included. And why bother having any off road vehicles at all when all the cars can go off road and perform exactly the same as they do on road? Where’s this bigger map we were promised? The Australia map is LESS than a kilometre longer going north to south and 5 km SHORTER going east to west. All the race events, bucket list challenges, showcase events, skills, PR stunts etc. are the same as Horizon and FH2 so why would I want to expand the festival or blueprint a bucket list only to add more of what I’ve already got to much of and which is exactly the same as the previous games? All of the very few and wouldn’t be missed if they weren’t there ‘new’ features this rubbish has have been blatantly copied from other games. So thanks for nothing Turn 10/ Playground games. You’ve scammed £50 out of me for a game I feel like I’ve already bought twice now. You are the laziest and most deceitful developers in the gaming industry.

This thread is more of a ‘scam’ than Horizon 3 is.

By far.

I don’t understand what game you’re playing. The graphics are much better than Horizon 2. Yes, the map is not bigger in actual physical size, but it tried to make up for it in actual openness(I have a gripe with the map as well, trying to play devil’s advocate here). No expansions have been announced yet, so it is way too early to judge that. This game is better at handling hypercars off-road. Try driving the Vulcan or a LaFerrari off-road and tell me how easy it is to drive it at 180+ without spinning out at the slightest tug at the steering wheel.

Also, my biggest counter-complaint is that the events are all the same. Yes, they are races. How are they going to be vastly different. You put some cars on a track and they go around it, or follow the route they are given. Not really sure how that could change, BUT, this time around you can change exactly what you want to race, how long you want to race, and in what conditions. Tell me how that’s the same.

Well said, it is definetly better then H2 by a mile, the only real disappointment with this game for me is the lack of authenticity and variety in the way the cars sound.

You may not enjoy it, but in my opinion this is the best horizon to date.

Blueprint and Co op campaign are pretty neat. You have the ultimate freedom to play as you wish in the exhibitions and championships.

Also, the naming of blueprints is my favorite. I love putting forth rediculous names.

Its a shame that some of the sounds are a downgrade and new bugs/inaccuracies have occurred. But blueprints alone make singleplayer quite fun

Hoping next one allows us to make our own routes.

I do miss REDROCK, Pure skill online, but love the game as it stands. They have done a great job level 400+ and counting.

Rivals and seeing lb position or change rivals is a bit obtuse as well. Right after a good lap you need to back out. Get loaded to last free roam position go back to menu, pick festivals, pick the race, change rivals. Just to see where you are on the board.

That is what they made it sound like it was. What they actually put in as blueprint was a waste of effort - why do I want to pick any random series of events over any other? The lack of any direction whatsoever has done no favours to the single player experience, even though the grind is much shorter than FH2’s.

The map pales in comparison to FH2’s in terms of the variety, and the very disappointing highway is just one of the issues. It is still fun, but not as fun as 2.

Agreed that checking rivals times are an absolute pain. There’s been a few times I wanted to check my time. I then realize the layout was on the other side of the map. I would then find something else to do.

In response to the title.

You’re welcome.

This is simply not true. Compare the performance of a Lamborghini off-road in FH3 with the same Lamborghini in FH2. The drivetrain and suspension have A LOT more effect on the off-road capabilties of the cars. Especially the water, which will cause low-riding cars to significantly slow down while high-riding vehicles will cut through the water fairly well.

True, the map is similar or smaller area, but the actual drivable area is much larger. Almost all of the invisible walls that segmented the map of FH2 in various sections are no longer present. I can drive to any two points on the map in a (more or less) straight line. This was simply not possible in FH2.

This is matter of opinion, but I quite like the blueprint feature. You are no longer locked into doing a certain race with a certain kind of car. You can have any type of racing you want, whether its super serious spec races on tarmac, or crazy, anything-goes races in the Outback.

Thats like saying ea games is lazy because theres never anything new in madden. They can only put cars in that exist and most of them are in previous horizon games. Idk how you even think the graphics are the same and the map is way more open.

I do have an issue with the map. They said it would be twice as large. But it’s not. Particularly, the “Outback” section of the map is no larger than any of the other cities. It’s really something to be laughed at, honestly. The Mad Max game had a better “Outback” than what’s in FH3. That game’s map was five times the size of FH3, easy, and included sand and dust storms to boot. Now if they meant “We’re going to squeeze in twice as much crap in the same or smaller map size”, that, I will believe.

And for anyone wanting to defend the map size with “more drivable area”, that is NOT what they were quoted as saying, and advertised, over and over again. They said the MAP was DOUBLE the size of FH2. And it simply isn’t. It’s the same or smaller, in fact, they flat out lied about the map size.

There’s no Road Trains in the game, which is pretty unique to Australia, and no Road Train convoys, also unique to Australia. They really did a very bad job of capturing Australia’s car culture and terrain. Australia’s car culture is probably larger than The United States at this point. Wolfe Creek isn’t even in the game. Probably one of the most famous/infamous spots in Australia (yes, they even made a couple of Cheesy horror movies about it based on real life murders that occurred there). The Top Gear mine race race would have been an excellent touch in the game, did it make it? Nope. Why? probably because it wasn’t generic enough.

The 350 cars are 90% recycled from previous games. Bugatti Chiron? Nope. Corvette Zora? Nope, New Honda NSX? Nope. Tons of Lambo’s, Tons of Ferrari’s, Tons of BMW’s (even the crappy ones), Lots of ordinary cars that nobody looks at twice on the street, but they can’t stick a standard Ford Mustang GT into the mix, not a 14, not a 17. Nothing. Yet they can stick an ugly Lexus 350 whatever in the game. c’mon. The Lambo Venemo (sp) isn’t even sought after because it’s counterpart that costs a fraction of the price is a better car (in the game). How sad is that?

And the top engine for swapping is a 7 liter V12. Which comes stock with the Aston Martin Vulcan. 7 Liter V8’s are a dime a dozen, but they choose the top engine to be a 7 liter V12. huh?

Turn 10 doesn’t know how to do an open world, I think that’s quite obvious at this point and the two franchises have become cash cows with anything new being hard to get or having to pay extra for. At this point I’m not even sure the game designers at Turn 10 are car guys.

Where are all these places?

The Halloween contest? Pfft. Same 'ole, create a livery. Get a custom livery as a reward. Nothing to see here, move along, move along.

Australia is extremely unique, and Turn 10 displays it as extremely generic and boring. They also have almost 0 creativity when it comes to their contests. It’s almost all a rehash of previous games. In fact, they’ve had to allow the players to create their own content with Blueprints.

And we all know most of the bugs will never be fixed. FH3 has bugs that have plagued previous Forza games for years. The Groove issues? Not a priority. They could have done so much with this.

When you pay $100.00 for a game, plus another $29 for the Expansion packs, you expect more. Honestly, FH3’s ONLY lure to me was the fact that it was in Australia. And whatever it is that’s in the game, isn’t Australia. And you have a RIGHT to expect more. You have a RIGHT to expect that what they claimed will actually be IN the game, and it isn’t.

According to your post here, you already knew this in July. And still you bought the game.
