Has anyone grown tired of the game?

Ok don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic game. But here’s the problem. Once I 100% beat the game, I literally have nothing to do but drive. Just drive. I know if I buy Blizzard Mountain it would help, but when it comes to stuff that isn’t DLC, the game is starting to get just a tad boring. I hate to sound like a stick in the mud but I honestly just can’t find anything to do on the game. The only things keeping me playing are the weekly Forzathon challenges and car collecting(Looking at you PG/T10, it’s time you release some more HE cars). Does anyone else out there agree? In the Motorsport games it’s different because the career is much longer and I’m always racing/always have something to do. FH1 and FH2 had a similar problem but atleast FH1 had some replay value. Now I know there is multiplayer but there isn’t much. The races are decent fun but it gets annoying being rammed off the road on the last turn, costing me 1st place, and the Playground Games can be downright rage-inducing. I’ve got to say FM4 is still my favorite Forza game. Insane amount of cars, Super long career and good multiplayer(Car soccer is my fav part, don’t judge me).

Long story short, I’m getting tired of FH3 because there’s just not much to do anymore. Anyone agree?

Where did FH1 have replay value that this does not?

I still haven’t reached 100% completion, and I’ve played way more than I ever played FH2. I am in since early release and still enjoying it!

I have done all the festival upgrades, midnight races, barn finds, bonus boards, showcase races and still have probably 100 races to do yet with single events and championships. Then I can start working on getting 3 stars on more things besides a possible new expansion ( if it’s not just the Porsche pack but could also be this plus an expansion ). Either way there is still a ton left for me to do in this game! I love the Forza Motorsport series but also like the free roam play space this game allows. I like the fact that it switches of every other year as I can always resort to the last year version if I want track racing and will say the same when Forza 7 cones out about Forza Horizon 3. It pretty much gives me 2 GREAT options to race with. If you try switching off for a bit and come back you will probably enjoy it more again.

OP, I hate to admit it because I had really high hopes for the third game, and even pre-ordered it (my first ever!)… but it did not hold my interest the way H1 or 2 did.

It seems like a rushed game with a smaller map, strange lighting design (looks really over exposed in some day and night scenes) and the car sounds that either got done wrong or were copied/pasted across several cars. They didn’t even bother addressing those concerns or correcting them in any of the content updates. Just yesterday I discovered the 2007 AR Competizione is yet another car that has an exact sound copied/pasted from the SLS AMG.

Careless attitude on the developer’s part and I don’t know if I want to gamble on the next Horizon game. I went back to FM6 though I still take in H3 in limited doses. I think I might stick to FM only in future, but let’s see how FM7 turns out.

There are better open road games out there, but at least on the X1, I suppose this is about as good as it gets. Plus, I think a general lack of competition has most likely led to the devs taking it easy for a while.

Smaller map?

What? We’re talking about Horizon 3 here. There’s nothing smaller about it.

A newer version of the game does not automatically mean a larger map. Give Horizon 2 a revisit and see how noticeably larger the scope of the entire map is (all six locations combined).

Like I have said every time I have seen this point made, no, it is not a smaller map by any means, and time it takes to drive the road around it is such a flawed argument.

FH2’s map in comparison, is smaller in every sense. The difference with it is that there are far more invisible walls meaning that the route from “one end to the other” is never, ever a straight path and will always make it seem larger than it actually is.

Difference with FH3 is that not only is there more square feet to drive, there are no borders blocking off the areas. A fault as the transition between biomes is poor, but still defeats the point nonetheless:

Forza Horizon 3’s map is bigger. Hands down.

Yes.

There are times where I get bored, but give it a few days and the thought of powersliding around Byron in an XR8 or dirt driving in the rainforest always lures me back.

Can’t say I’ve grown any more tired of this game than any other game almost half a year after release.

For me, I haven’t grown tired of this game yet by a long shot. I’m only at 15% completion and have lots more to do. I guess once you hit 100%, you can probably move on to another game. I don’t think the map is small and the amount of events that pops up as I progress is pretty amazing. I’ve been playing almost everyday here and there.

For the most part, yes.

Once I completed the game and got all of the Achievements, there’s not much that makes me want to regularly come back. Multiplayer racing just isn’t fun for me in this game as it’s quite repetitive and doesn’t have that same “I want to get better” vibe as a Motorsport title. Despite how rough the Hoppers were in Forza Motorsport 6, I did enjoy going online every night and doing a few hours of racing, as I felt my skills and experience actually meant something when it came to winning races.

I only hop on once a week now, for Forzathon. Once I’ve done my Challenges I’m off again for another week. The game itself is fun to play and extremely well made, but it just doesn’t have that same year-long appeal that a Motorsport title would for me.

Pretty much some up my FH3 experience…

With the addition of Glitched barn finds (none since BM expansion on BM or Main map) , completion scores (already had the 62/63 exhibitions before BM messed thing up even more) , and of course people getting corrupt saves ( Dodgy PC upgrade) that mean I no longer play day to day… Then you have the what now seem to be the weekly challenges of glitched forzathons

I Don’t even switch the console on most days… and won’t risk stating the game on the PC…

I Enjoyed it while it lasted but not anymore…

I still think this is the best Open World Game since Test Drive Unlimited (not the crappy 2nd one), but i have to admit, i’m a bit tired of it. I have played approx 300 Hours, have played nearly all content (except Multiplayer, since i think it has a really bad technique behind it), i’m at level ~ 620 ( i guess). It still looks really good etc.

My main problem is the really, really small map. Its really gigantic small compared to TDU or The Crew. Also Blizzard Mountain, its just [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] small map.

I still think there was something about TDU thats kind of hard to beat. Roads felt endless. It was more of a cruiser than a rally hybrid.

They had the dealers which were a nice way to shop for cars. The online was seamless. It had it’s issues, of course, but that was one heck of a game for that time.

Horizon is a very nice game, but feels a bit less focused. Obviously the driving is no comparison. Horizon wins by landslide, but TDU in itself was so immersive, i didn’t really complain too much about the driving, it was still competitive.

I stopped playing this after a month. PI and drivatars sealed it for me.

Aye, I’ve not played properly since November. Spent a few days in December 100%ing Blizzard Mountain, then I was back off again. Only come on once a week to complete the Forzathons, then I’m off again.

And to SatNiteEduardo, in a way, Horizon 1 did have more re-playability in the sense that it had a storyline to it that felt realistic (in a way), I will go back to that every so often and play through it again, I can’t see that ever happening with this game.

If I was to ever go back to an FH game it would not be for a story.

One of my biggest gripes is the story getting in the way of the racing. I like the music side of the FH games but other than that to me they are all the same in story regard.

FH1s racing only lobbies did add some replayability online.

At the moment I feel my time in FH3 is coming to an end other than to do Forzathon and collect new cars. Other than that I feel like I am holding on by the tips of my fingers but that they will soon give way.

Didn’t even notice that until now. This just keep getting better and better. Or… worse and worse?

This. With how many events clutter up the map, a majority of them use nearly the same length of the same roads as other races.

Same here (almost). I’ve been bored since three weeks ago. What really killed it for me was not necessarily something that affected me (yet). It was the glitched Forzathon Impreza thing. I’ll still keep completing the challenges but won’t be expecting much of a turnout with the constant flow of bug reports pouring in.

Horizon 1 had an amazing storyline and it alone is what had me pumped for Horizon 2 up until I actually purchased the game. The series lost a little bit of flare with the release of Horizon 2, namely because of the almost nonexistent storyline. Now with Horizon 3, “YOU ARE THE BOSS OF THE FESTIVAL DO WHATEVER YOU WANT” along with an achievement explicitly named “BEST. HORIZON. EVER.” honestly charges up older players. Especially those who played Horizon 1 back in 2012. The concept was extremely misleading as well because the only “freedom” we as players get are custom bucket lists and the ability to change the applicable cars in races. Lap counts and class limits were already present in Horizon 2.

Yes, it is a “bigger map” but with a desert, rainforest, seascape, and city all being smashed together on one map with some generic plains in the middle, the map really doesn’t seem as gigantic as was pushed through advertisements. Plus, you add in all of the skill perks and nearly if not all of the UI elements copied over from Horizon 2, all of these things make it seem to me like the Horizon series is turning into a Call of Duty kind of situation.
