Manual +clutch shifting

The clutch implementation does not work for manual shifting in this game. It’s been bugged since launch - every time I or somebody else opens a thread about it one of the moderators closes it saying its not reproducible.

Funny how things are not reproducible if you don’t try.

Ye I know mate, it’s been mildly annoying up until this point but it just ruins the new F1 1970’s tour as the AI is insanely slow as they don’t use the exploit.

I’m not talking specifically about this exploit - I’m talking about how manual with clutch takes seconds to shift gear every single shift - if you don’t pause and wait you damage the engine (or transmission*). It’s like the game doesn’t start registering that the clutch pedal has been pressed immediately - you have to wait a preset amount of time before it considers the clutch engaged.

This experience is specific to wheel / pedal.

There may well be an exploit that allows you to get around this - but the actual functionality baked into the game makes it totally un-usable in my experience.

Yes what you’re describing there was the totally failed attempt at fixing the power shifting which pretty much everybody hated. Needless to say it was an epic fail. All they did was remove one exploit (As Esaki said it was) and replaced it with another far more easier and OP exploit. Could t make it up really.

Its same on controller BTW without a race tranny when using M+C

Every new detail I learn about this “game” increases my disappointment.

Something about how janky it looks to see people slamming through gears without a clutch and exploiting the game bothers me more than it should.

The easiest solution should absolutely be either forced damage and/or missed shifts. Delayed shifts at the very least.

Imagine a Forza lobby where it doesn’t sound like straight cut gears everywhere.

i mean all cars have same shift times =30ms if u install race transmision [m/c no clutch], i dont see any problems here.

i mean that made race transmision viable for all class racing, since shift times are longer on stock/street/sport transmision [tho lap times are similar], and for me thats best thing in this game, no more weird gearing issues on some cars, just slap on race transmision and adjust gearing how u like.

and with stock/street/sport transmision u just need to hold clutch long enough, thats all.

it’s also contrived and has nothing to do with how cars actually function.

YEAH u are 100% right https://youtu.be/WVxVFIFpYeo

i was looking for this one XD

Bro no disrespect meant here, but if you think it’s normal for cars built in the 1970’s to shift quicker than hypercars from the 2020’s then there’s really no point discussing the ‘is it a glitch’ or realistic.

i think the main issue is that manual with auto clutch shifting is just too slow, thats all

You’re right! Or imagine if you decided to use a clutch you actually had to momentarily lift off and when you shifted or you had to heel and toe to rev match to stop engine braking locking up the driven wheels when you downshift.

Nah I’ll just keep accelerator pressed to floor while I up shift and I’ll put it in first gear while 100% braking from 150mph for that hairpin. That’s sounds like it would work. Surprisingly though that can be meta driving style in the most technically advanced driving game ever made

At man it isn’t at all. C’mon

this engine braking exploits is annoying, tho for some reason in my tunes [100/0 diff] im faster when im not using this exploit XD

But the engine braking exploits are 100% related to the sport trans glitch

What about this?

Or this?

Not every race transmission in history is a dog box. Grand Prix cars used H pattern gear boxes up until 1989. Maybe a little earlier for endurance and other race cars. The point is a 1970’s Grand Prix car shouldn’t shift in mere milliseconds. For a game claiming to be what it is, it’s just silly to see.

Also it has to be a glitch because the hand moves toward the shifter once you change gears in an older race car.

well everyone knows that forza is not 100% accurate, even if they removed no cluch thing, people would just makro clutch shifting, and we would get same results.

I just like no cluch m/c thats all

Makes as much sense as exploiting track limits. I see your point, you’re right.
