Forza motorsport 2023 manual with clutch shifting issue

When i change shifting setting to shift using manual with clutch , between gear changes theres a massive delay before it goes into gear ,so annoying

Anyone else experience this?

Yes, lots of other posts here and over on the Suggestions hub for the last week if you have a look. It seems that they tried to eliminate power shifting (a good thing to try and do), but in the process made it artificially difficult to legitimately clutch quickly between gears.

As you upgrade your car to a race gearbox etc, this gets better, but it’s obv not quite realistic currently.

Thanks buddy will give that a try sorry never really went proper through the hub

You don’t even need to engage the clutch with the race transmission, you can just upshift and downshift like manual with out clutch. This needs to be patched

You have to get the clutch down before you can shift with the lesser cars. It’s not necessarily artificially harder, just have to be more mindful with the move than previous iterations.

If you are doing the A/B and A/X setup, make sure you get that A button down first.

It does destroy your shifting over a few laps in full damage if you don’t get this down.

Ya I noticed the shifting on a stock vehicle in the game is much much slower in game vs in realmlife. Like you have to purposely delay your shift as to not have the car free rev like a missed shift.

It does get better with trabsmission and clutch upgrades but stock is beyond unrealistically slow. I can shift much quicker than that in my daily.

Some sports/race cars in real life have semi auto or sequential transmissions where you don’t have to apply the clutch to disengage for shifts, so this isn’t necessarily unrealistic. Whether the game is correctly allowing this in the right situations on cars/transmissions where it should be possible is another matter.

There’s no option to have a race transmission where you have to engage the clutch before selecting a gear, which is how shifting was done before the dawn of the semi-auto transmission. “The right situations” is the matter I’m speaking on. The MP4/4 and 917 both have manual transmissions, not semi auto.

It needs to be patched. What’s the point of choosing manual w/ clutch if there’s no penalty for miss shifting. It goes from too hard to non existent which makes no sense when the option clearly states “manual w/ clutch” not “semi-auto”, or just regular “manual” for better term.

Ugh, it’s awful, and seems inconsistent to me? Like it seemed worse later in the race? Could just be in my head…
Anyway, I’ve just switched to “manual” instead of “manual w/ clutch” and am still pushing my clutch in anyway ('cause I LIKE TO, ok? :slightly_smiling_face: )

In FH5 and other games, I’ve always gone into settings and switched between “manual” and “manual w/ clutch” based on what car I’m driving. Guess I’ll just leave it there until they figure it out.

EDIT: G27 w/ manual shifetr

Not sure if you’re using a wheel but I’m sure it can be done on controller too. I set my clutch deadzones to 0in and 20 out, helps a lot and even more so when you upgrade clutch in car

Yeah, and weirdest thing is, when u switch in game from manual, to manual with clutch, sometimes the clutch will act with the “good” reaction time. T8HA shifter with a t248 xbox wheel.
