As much as I love this game it sometimes really grinds my gears. Why the hell is cross country and freeroam rush in ranked online? WHY IS RANDOM TCS TURNING ON STILL A THING IN 2020?
Fix please!
Edit - Found a solution to completely avoid cross country/dirt races with freeroam rush.
When you accept the ranked session and it’s waiting for other players to confirm, don’t touch the controller. It will then load up to tell you to select your car, during this period if you don’t want to play said match then keep the controller untouched and you will timeout as inactive. Keep doing this until you get street racing.
I have already told myself the Horizon 4 will be my first and last Horizon game I’ve bought. It’s been tons of fun but the game is still broken in some spects and is missing crucial things like pure road racing in ranked Online or even fully ghosted races, the 30 seconds just don’t cut it. Also all leaderboard are broken due to cheats, hacks, glitches and some cars being overly OP like the 599XX EVO or the Cobra KC.
The developers don’t seem to be interested in fixing it anymore.
The only assist I have on is ABS.
TCS randomly gets enabled for some races I have noticed. The “TCS” shows up in the gauge at the bottom right alongside ABS. It’s really annoying.
That has been a thing for so long as I can remember in FH4. Thought it was fixed though. I do recall there were earlier discussion about it on forums months ago, but I don’t remember if, despite it lighting up, it actually did anything or not.
That’s interesting. I have never seen it but I don’t use any assist so maybe ABS was somehow connected. Without blinking I wouldn’t recognize it probably.
OK, I use mostly RWD cars so i could recognize it i guess but I don’t know TCS in Horizon because I have never (only game starts) used it
Just to be clear here. Earlier discussion and this one are about “TCS” sometimes lighting up in UI, despite that it’s disabled by player in difficulty settings. I also disabled it as soon as I started playing, but there were situations, most of the time in Cross Country events where HUD indicator for it lighted up, despite it being disabled in settings.
Real issues here is if it’s just buggy UI effect or if TCS is also applied, which we don’t know. Depending of situation according to my and Sprungboss experience, TCS and make player car slower, or situation where it wastes PI may occur.
Better wrapping paper, but a step backward from FH3 as a game. Admittedly 100% preferred the Australian setting but trying to put that bias aside I just have less fun all around. That again though may just be me, however I feel there are a number of things, hardly up for debate, that FH3 did much better. I know a creator wants to bring change but sometimes Too much change isn’t good. (Not referring to seasons or anything, most new ideas Im quite fond of. It’s the changes made to the bits that they nailed already)
Finally I found this thread Yes, it happened to me yesterday. CC trial, first race was OK. Second one with TCR (is it TCR?) in HUD and real TCR, because when I went full throttle, car slowed down. Third race was OK again. After race everything was disabled like it should be. Pretty cool bug
The game would be much more enjoyable across all age groups that play it, if only they would stop ramping up the speed of races and allow people to win races. The psychology of racing games, especially if you chart the success of Real Racing 3, is that you have to allow people to win races without having to exert enough pressure to pop a neuron. My god man, cars ahead of you instead of racing, are instead angling for your position in order to block you or knock you off the racing line. Not cool at all. Slow the game down and allow people to win and many more will continue to play the game. You are only doing yourself and the game a disservice if you don’t!
