Recently restarted my Forza 5 after about 2months of not playing it. It asked me to re-sync my cloud save data, as i was at 80% it crashed and said cloud save unavailable.
I couldn’t actually try this again as ever time i re-load forza it starts my profile off at Rank 0. Even the game hub says i have a Rank of 0 even though i have put over 500+ hours into the game.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i have found nothing related to this topic on the Forums…

Since u have restarted try deleting ur local game save… that will make the game sync again. While its syncing it should ask u what game save u want and pick the older one. Sometimes it doesnt wlrk but at this point you have nothing to lose
Just tried that, after deleting my .dat file. Then restarting Forza5. It promptly stars to sync once i start the game. It does not ask me to download via the cloud or give me any choice.
Surely there is a way for an admin via the ForzaMotorsport5 servers to see if my data has been stored online recently??
It looks like im waiting for Forza6 before i play Forza Motorsport again… lol

i have excacly the same problem ! i tried deleting my saves and do a hard reset but nothing !
I recently created a post about this in both FM5 and Horizon 2 forums;
Cleared Local Saved Games and on the syncing data screen the progress bar just moves from left to right… I don’t even see the progress starting at 0%. Left it there for several minutes. Almost no activity on my modem. XLive is fine, connection is good.
All other games are syncing fine.
Is Turn 10 overhauling their servers or something?
the same thing happened to me yesterday. the game started from scratch. all my 318 car garage with designs and tuning are gone. Besides the more than 50 million in CR. I am incredulous.
