Logitech G920 announced for Xbox One and PC

Looks like we have another player in FFB wheels. Logitech just announced it’s new wheel compatible with Xbox One and PC. The G920 has full FFB, comes with a 3 pedal set, but the shifter for it is optional. Here’s a video showing both the new wheels from Logitech. It will be $400.

If its anything like the g27 it will be bomb proof

It’s said to be built off the similar platform of the G27. Just upgraded.

Logitech really dropped the ball on this one. 409 euros for six year old technology?
Just for some context, I paid 500 euros for my CSR Wheel (and it is belt-driven) + CSR Elite Pedals + Shifter + Wheel Stand. They are asking 409 euros for just the wheel with no shifter. HA!

I would rather get the TX even if it is less realible. At the moment, Logitech is jst trying to take advantage of us.

you all didnt complain when you lined up and bought old tech for the new consoles…

What? What old tech? The CSR was old tech? Well, at least it was belt driven, and it cost half of the Logitech G920.

you are thicker than 2 short planks half the time Ant.

The hardware, in the consoles, was already atleast 2 years old, prior to being released. You had no issue paying for ‘old tech’ then. Fanatec are overpriced and rubbish, you know this.

Not I. I’d rather pay for a bullet proof wheel, even if it’s based off of 6 year old tech. That means they started with something that is proven, and then made improvements upon it. I am only bummed at the price, but considering the other helical gear drive wheel is still asking for $400, for it’s broke-tastic wheel; then why not pay that money for something that works?

I are happies!

What happens if it doesn´t? I know it is Logitech, even so…
Your logic is quite funny because HEY! Honda should start selling their mk6 Civics again with a superior price. They are reliable after all!

It is not my money so it is not my decision anyway. The fact that I already found the TX expensive for what it brought makes the new Logitech look even worse. They didn´t even bother to change the motors housing or re-design anything at all. It is just a bunch of old pieces sorted together. I would “forgive” this if was belt-driven but no.
They are taking advantage of the market. They are very smart though, I give them that.

Yet, the price of the TX has been down to $293 on Amazon for a while now. However, you have to take into account the G920 will come with a 3 pedal set, something you have to pay extra for with the TX.

Exactly. With the price of the T3PA, the TX pretty much costs $400. Granted the T3PA’s brake is better than a stock G25/G27’s brake, but the pedals can’t hold a candle to Logitech’s reliability.

Also if these pedals use the same parts as the G25/G27’s… Mods are available. (I have a shoe box ready and waiting. LOL)

And they have to make their money back on the licencing etc they would have had to pay MS.

Yeah, there is that. At least it’s good to see that much of the hate and discontent between Microsoft and Logitech has blown over (I hope). Now they finally have a full FFB wheel on a Microsoft system. Yes it’s about 8-10 years overdue.

Finally a reasonably priced good wheel for the xbox one. I don’t have a xbox one not even sure if I ever will, but having options is always a good thing.

I’d be excited for this but seeing it alongside the PS4 wheel, with all of its fancy little extras, puts me off a bit considering it’s the same price.

The proprietary GranTurismo tuning buttons and dials? I kind of think those messed up the look of the wheel. The G920 looks a heck of a lot cleaner. I just wish the buttons were black or dark grey.

The shifter… Please tell me that Logitech firmed up the shifter and tightened the throw.

Edit: And the shifter lights aren’t there. A loss, but not the end of the world.

Couldn’t give a rats rear about how the wheel looks, function > form for me.

The CSR is old tech as well, it is also done cheaper. It has the same contents as the Porsche wheels that came out years prior, a different case, a cheaper made wheel that isn’t full alacantra, and internals that were completely outsourced to China. They also break left and right, something that is complete opposite to Logitech.

The G27 is also made in china. The G920 is a G27 with Xbox Buttons and a different price tag. They are offering me the same package as the G27 for double the price. It does not even include the shifter.
The CSR, while a re-design, had a new wheel rim (made of aluminum, alcantara and hard quality plastics) and the same price tag as its previous generations (Porsche Wheel). It was (and is) cheaper than the G920. Fine, it doesn´t have pedals. Even if you include them, the package on a whole is still cheaper (and the pedals have better quality and feel).
As far as reliability, mine is working and so are others. The G920 is yet to prove himself to your argument is not valid.

Obviously you are going to twist and turn every single word I say and tell me that I´m completely wrong and delusional. I just know it, despite you knowing Logitech is trying to fool us.

Dust consoles have more to offer than pure raw hardware power. Apparently you still don´t understand that and problably never will.

(@ DeadlyCowPat) Then the G29 wins, due to the shifter lights. More function, apparently. :stuck_out_tongue:

Over at ISR, the announcement got a MEH. The hangup is this comes across as a rebranding of sorts. Understandable. Some tweeks to the wheel’s FFB and, nothing noted about anything else. Most aren’t so sure that the wheel will stack up well to the T300/TX. Thrusty’s pedals and shifter are believed to be better than what Logitech is offering, and unless the wheel is buttery smooth and ultra strong, there is little doubt that the T series wheels are better than the G series wheels.

Over at GTPlanet, the price is the 800lb gorilla. Rightfully so if it is just a rebranding, which seems to be the case.

I’m excited about the potential of a rock solid wheel on the XB1, but I am the man on the moon here. All I’ve read about was how the G series worked without fail, and how they outlasted just about anything else offered by anyone. I am hoping to have a similar experience with the G920, as long as it meets a certain level of feel and FFB strength. I know it’s probably not going to be as strong as the T series, or the Club Sport. I get that. But either aren’t as reliable as the G25/G27. To me, that says a lot.
