Hello everyone. I’m playing on controller with only ABS on from assists. Doing prototype power event. Is it possible to master these crazy powerhorses without TCS or stability control on controller?
Use sport TCS. If you have any doubts about what to use, look at rivals for relevant cars/PI grades. You’ll find a lot of cars like this are all using TCS on the top times.
Many of these cars relied on TCS/ABS/whatever tech to make them driveable. We’re just used to turning everything off because it was faster before.
They are a bit twitchy indeed, but you’ll get used to it.
It is, but takes some getting used to and tcs will generally be faster at that level. Tuning- gearing, front rebound and diff tuning as examples- is helpful.
Not all that helpful to your question but I’m struggling with these cars using a wheel. I didn’t have that struggle in FM7. I’m not the fastest guy out there but generally a top 20%er on most tracks in most cars. But these, I did most of the series last night in the 919 Hybrid and I serious spun nearly every lap. I even finished last for the first time in this game and I play with the AI difficulty set to 5. I usually trounce them but not in this car. When I would get a decent lap in I was still faster than the AI but man, these cars are on a knife edge and the slightest of inputs is enough to unsettle them. Maybe it’s just me and I’m doing it wrong but it’s been a long time since I’ve struggle with a car in a FM game.
Yes. Your tune and discipline with the triggers will get you there.
Tough with no TCS. I set front and rear downforce to max and put the fattest tyres possible on it and it was still a handful. Only finished 4th overall as span out at Eau Rouge and couldn’t match the AI speed in the wet at Silverstone. Car was great to drive around Mugello though.
On a somewhat-related tangent, I finally got to the C8 Challenge and unlocked a Z06 to run with.
…I know good and well that car doesn’t handle like that. I know good and well that car does not handle like that. It spins like a top with zero hesitation, at any speed.
I think there’s something fundamentally flawed with the physics model in this game.
I had some time today to work on a car and spent hours on the R8. Finally got it right. The high powered stuff can be a beast to deal with without a solid tune.
another way to Reduce wheel spin is Decreasing Acceleration in the Gears including the Final Drive Take in account when you Decrease gears to speed your gear will take Longer to Reach the Limiter Wear Increasing your Acceleration in The Gears shortens how Long the Gear Hits the Limiter if you do the Gears to Short your car Won’t Accelerate as much Due to The Lack of Torque. here is a Link that Explains about Torque If you want to Know more about select the explanation to Read more torque in cars - Search
Yes, of course with practice. I never use TCS.
Easypeasy. Not a problem on the controller at all. All assists on, AI set to 1, rules set to 1. I refuse to let the game abuse me. I only play it for fun and if it ain’t I ain’t playin’ it! I can find my level of challenge somewhere lower in the game.
I recommend using TC on s-class and above for 99% of the player base.
Thank You all guys, for sharing your experience and suggestions. I’m done with prototype event only with ABS on difficulty 6. Also it taked me a time to get used to, looks like for me it is possible, but it’s not easy. After event got my car to lvl33 after all restarts… Also tried open event in multiplayer where all using Ginetta G60-LT-P1 and i wasn’t the best one, but also wasn’t last aswell. And in multiplayer looks like most of people trying without tcs, cause there was many who spins out with that car.
I understand, but i would love to see default settings for each car for all players ingame as it is in real world. Not like it is now ingame, one with abs, other tcs etc. It would be more interesting.
I find it quite difficult to modulate input on controller so often end up inadvertently flooring it and lighting up the rears on the more powerful cars. Sadly, no room in my house for a wheel setup of any kind.
That’s mostly a personal limitation I think, I know controller players who do a much better job of it than I do. One thing that has helped is tuning, especially opening up my locked diff so that on the exit of turns I’m not spinning up, but the drawback is I don’t quite get the power down on the straights. Would be nice if I could adjust diff settings on the fly
I play on controller no abs no tcs no stb etc I play I’ve been playing on these settings since the first part
Practice and gentle trigger
do not press the brake pulsatingly, just control the trigger with its force
I did today that career part with Porsche LMP1. And the way it was handling felt very unrealistic. It was fast, but like with no downforce and grip at the back end. Spining like a spinner even in the straight. When acquired the Acura LMP2 for the showcase event - everything was back to normal. Something was not right with that Porsche.
Thanks mate… my minimum is to 0, in steering i’m using simulation (which is more for steering wheels), but i found that, you can be good in simulation on controller aswell. The only assist what i’m using is abs… my problem is in starts with high torque cars. Too much spinoffs
Yea… i got Acura and tried in showcase. It was completely different but also it feeled slower.
