I just finished my first two races after update 10 in R class with my favorite 900HP+ heavy American power car, and I can 100% tell that the car handles absolutely different now compared to 1 month ago… I believe the change is how sport traction control works. My power car has trouble not only at start, but also at low speed corner exit, so I have to use TCS otherwise the tires just burn with that 900+ HP whenever I throttle below 60 MPH. Previously sport TCS cannot handle the start but can handle slow corner exit without any issues. But after update 10, sport TCS cannot keep my tires from spinning at slow corner exit. It looks that sport TCS setting now refuses to kick in when the speed is below like 50 MPH or so. For example, my power car just spun like crazy at those low speed corner exits on Homestead-Miami Speedway in the R class race I just finished… It’s kinda interesting. Anyone else also feel this change?
yes felt the same. not same amount of grip in my c7 gt car had before update. don’t like when the change these things up
So if this a thing it will likely be the cause of much disagreement in the community,” with everybody having different views. @T10ManteoMax could you ask if this has happened and if so why ?
Yep, I mainly race touring cars and since the update the other day my car is unusable now. I haven’t changed my car settings and they are still the same, but car bogs out of corners now, lack of power, and a lot more sliding. I’ve been trying to fix my car but to no avail. Something to do with tcs definitely.
I don’t use TCS except in extreme cars but if they have nerfed it , in my unpopular opinion it’s a good thing. They need to do the same ABS and fix the sport trans without clutch. Either way though if they have it’s unforgivable not to let people know.
Making abs, sport TC and race transmission viable to all players, made game better lol
Since braking w/o abs on controllers is bad in all Forza games if u have vibrations off (and some players like me hate to have vibrations on), Abs in this game is just godsend.
Not even in sim racing games u drive cars w/o TC or abs lol.
I’m actually with this too. I wish FM8 had TCS/ABS level adjustment like most other games. ABS lengthens braking lines quite a bit, and ABS off makes it unrecoverable if you’re a little late on the brakes. TCS on kills your ability to jump the start and it soft-stalls the car if you overrev a hair and have clutch on, and TCS off makes corner exit oversteer bananas on powerful cars, but if controlled properly is still faster on exit than TCS on with full throttle. TCS sport feels somewhat unpredictable. Wish we had something that behaved like ABS 1 and TCS 1 do in GT7/AC. That seems to be the perfect balance of having finer control of what the car’s doing while saving you from going off track if you make a mistake. With assists on in this game, you might as well just go full gas or brake all the time.
The problem with sport TC and abs, is that’s it takes steering inputs into corrections, if u brake and full turn at same time, abs will basically do everything it can to make u turn car, which means braking power will be close to 0, but if u brake in straight line, u will get same performance as abs off.
Same for sport TC, if u turn too much while on corner exit, game will try to block your power so that u can turn better, but if u are precise with steering inputs, u can go almost as fast as with TC off, even if car requires slip angle, or little powerslide, sport TC will allow u to do it, unless u turn too much.
That’s why u can drive fwd cars with sport TC if u use steering wheel or joystick (one u use to pilot planes in flying sims), but if u use keyboard or are not precise with gamepad input, u will kill all your momentum by turning too much.
Also I think they changed whole driving physics a bit (probably due to some code relocations to high frame rate site), cars seems more responsive, that also affects abs and TC, since if u have higher oversteer in your car, TC and abs will kick in more often due to steering inputs.
Tho I never had any issues of sport TC not activating, even at race start (what annoys me cuz it kills my start in some cars due to low torque engine)
It’s a skill that requires practice and you don’t need vibrations. I’m fine with assists that have those assists IRL. Basically any car up until around 2005 should be quicker with a manual and clutch and ABS wasn’t openly available on road cars until the mid 90’s but wasn’t used in motorsports. F1 banned it after Mansell won the title with an electronically assisted car.
Idk if it’s my controller or what, but I noticed weird behavior in braking, even if I test where the 75% braking power limit is on controller (while holding trigger in static position), when I try braking, pressing my trigger even with aim at 65%, my breaking pressure will spike over 75% = tyre lockup, and then go slowly down, while still holding same trigger position.
It’s annoying so I just give up.
In fh4 I never had any issues with abs off, but in fh5 and new motorsport I just can’t get used to it, also braking with abs off in motorsport seems way too undesteery to me. Abs just works fine.
There’s some good videos on YT about how to do it. Essentially straight to 75%~80% input then trail brake to the apex. It was a huge advantage in previous games as ABS was around 20% less efficient. Now it appears identical.
They have changed something for the worse.
Management and the dev team are the worst changes.
I tried it last night. Didn’t notice any difference tbh
Tried what buddy? Big difference in car performance, handling than before update 10
Didn’t notice any difference in sport TCS. Tried it on the Porsche 935 which I used it on before
I instantly noticed it first race I got into after the update.
Tbf I don’t use it much so you’d know more than me if you use it regularly
