List of inaccurate car models in Forza Motorsport

,

I guess Playground Games has nothing to do with these models, since Turn 10 is the one responsible for the modeling.

As it turns out, I was wrong. Some time ago I was informed that the Jaguar XJ220 recieved major modeling changes, and after a quick look at both the FM4 and the XOne Forza model, I can confirm that to be true. Now, it still feels like there’s something wrong with that model, but the pre-XOne one felt a lot worse. The Ferrari Enzo may have also been remodeled to some extent, but I can’t really confirm that one.

Regarding the S7, a very small number of the 2003 and 2004 model years were built with the badge on the hood instead of on the bumper. Why this was done is beyond me because I can’t find any info online about it. So technically the logo placement isn’t inaccurate, but even still it didn’t make sense to change it when the Pre-Xbox One car model had the logo on the bumper. Plus the elephant in the room here is that the current car model itself is inaccurate and inconsistent with the S7 LM

These are the only two S7s on ECR which have the badge on the hood so they’re clearly very rare. The red one is a 2004 and the orange one is a 2003

Is there like a premium vs. current gen model thing going on in the game?

Some models look kiiiinda nice, some look okay, others look somewhat abysmal.

What really sticks out is the fact that the cars rarely look up to scale - e.g. they won’t be the right height off the tarmac in stock form, they will either not look wide enough or look blockier than usual.

GT’s cars, for example, look like they are up to scale and have accurate dimensions - so if you see a car that looks nice, wide, low and slick, it will look exactly like that IRL. In Forza, the same car can tend to not look as low and sleek, if that makes sense? The dimensions seem off and I’m blaming that on the car model, really. No other explanation that makes sense to me otherwise.

T10 and PG don’t want to admit it but it’s certainly a thing. Sadly many people don’t notice it, but the quality discrepancy between some cars is an actual galaxy, as you mentioned later.

Welp, there goes the 458 Italia, straight into Will-Not-Fix

Because it’s Horizon 5. Now time to make the same report for FM if the issue exists there, I haven’t driven the 458 enough to remember it.

Turn 10 is the one responsible for the modeling, not Playground…

But the model is in a Playground game, so they can only modify it for Horizon 5

Slight modifications. I saw its wheels got a lil’ stanced as default in FH5, if that’s what I think.

On the other hand, this report can be copied over to FM Car Issues and they might eventually remodel the 458, maybe even fully rescan it.

What’s wrong with the 458? On Ericship111’s video, he said he finds it decent even by today’s standards.

Speaking of Ericship111, this is his video he made late last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTS-RasY6UE

Missing elements next to the rear window can be modeled separately, I think. Not sure how they’d go about fixing the pre-shadowed panel gaps, as well as weirdly low quality wheels. The 458 model is decent, just could be better.

High risk fix?

Ferrari be ferrari

Ps. I get it. Although its one of the least terrible car models for sure.

If they can’t listen to us and scrap these ugly, outdated car models, there’s no place for them at Turn 10.

Nevermind the S15, now the games out, i doubt its possible to replace the models. now we see if they update for the next game

If the only problem is replacing the models breaks every livery made for those cars, then that is a small price to pay. I would like to see this happen with some of the most glaring offenders. The Mitsubishi EVO VI would be one of the first cars on the list, if I called the shots. This is a live service game, and that would mean that car models can and should be updated when necessary. As well as different trim levels being added over time. Even though we can paint the EVO VI into a Tommi Makinen model, it would be great to see the actual car added to the roster.

Hopefully it happens.

That’s what I thought too, and it’s what’s happening to any inaccurate model reports in Horizon 5. In Motorsport on the other hand, many of my reports were logged, meaning that some action will probably be taken. I just wish to hear some confirmation that they are rescanning the cars, and not just making FM5 22B and R32 style changes.
