List everything you think is wrong with the game

It looks decent in native 2160p. In FM7 I always had jaggies even with MSAA set to 4x or 8x. It did cost so much performance to use MSAA. I am happy that we have TAA in FM23.

Tbh I played the open series last night
And it only crashed once. Throughout the series. In terms of graphics, I think it has got better since launch and now is > than FM7.

Yeah I play all my games in 2160, it’s hard to go back after tho its probably time to update my gc with the 5 Series drops as long as they aren’t ridiculously priced for bitcoiners

This update is the worst I encountered yet.
I am not able to play the new series since game crashes when trying to enter race nr. 3. During the last Update game crashed when trying to enter B-Series.

  • Now game crashes in 2/3 tries to enter an online-race.
  • When trying to do the qualifying (online race) the chance that the game crashes after finishing the qualify-turns is about 33%.
  • I am no more able to enter my designs since game loads forever so I cannot publish own designs anymore
  • The idea to place the car-selection after loading the track in multiplayer is the worst idea since the car-xp. Now I cannot see what of my cars are valid entering before loading the track. Furthermore when the track is loaded the usual Fps-problems occur even during the car selection. No idea what genius came up with this one

To make that clear: I haven’t had ANY of those problems before the last two patches. My system didn’t change, my drivers are all up to date.
Other software is working as intended. Just Forza strucks a nerve again.

I am not sure it QA has been abandoned but at least please at least try not to make game worse and worse…after more than a year I do not dare to ask for more than that

Indeed, there’s only two more updates and it will be a year old, not holding my breath that they will be able to get things in order by then

I wonder why the game now automaticly ends the training after driving the recommended number of laps. I liked the way it was before, when you could just press “right” on the d-pad and the training ended.

Since the underwhelming release I was expecting early summer super update with new career, additional features and themes like drifting, drag racing, special challenges, and lots of tracks. Thinking -at the time- that by June all bugs are already fixed and it would be like a successful re-launch of the game.

I was wrong.

I was kinda thinking the same, that Turn10 would throw everything at it to make it climb back up out of the position it’s in… then it went the other way, a track every 2-3 months and…

That’s about it. Sure there’s been some changes to the way things work but nothing really added
(Is that too negative too say )

I thought that too, but having seen what’s happened to the other 4 games shown off at 2023 Xbox show, this game and Turn 10 studio will, like turkeys, be dead by Christmas.

Maybe MS might believe that the game can be saved by Playground Games, now they have some extra capacity with FH4 ending and an outside studio helping with Fable. Or maybe they’ll port it onto PS5 so all the many millions more Sony players can join in the misery.

The idea of console crossplay ever happening is like saying Apple will start using Windows as their OS :upside_down_face:

I’d be happy if the console wars included PC as then the PC’s would be superior but I don’t think that Sony will release GT7 on pc cause it would have to be free to play online, maybe Sony dropping the need to pay to play online would be a great idea but they don’t have the server space Microsoft does and doubt they will start throwing hundreds of millions into giving it away for free… plus GT7 is the number 1 driving game for the PS and wouldn’t want to hurt console sales if the pc was an option.

I don’t think that Turn10 will be over by Christmas but in saying that and considering the reception to FM8 anything is possible. I also don’t think that Xbox games studios would hand over FM8 to PGG even tho it should be on the table for PGG to work on new vehicles for FM8 so it has the same amount released each month as FH5 does, maybe PGG down the track for a different racing title like a Project Gothham Racing to fill the now all but dying Motorsport position but taking it away from Turn10 isn’t going to happen.

If Drift and Track Days come in the next two updates Turn10 might be able to hold ground with the playerbase they have, oh and also completely rework the penalty system for MP

I hadn’t thought about crossplay, I was just thinking that PS5 users might enjoy crashes to dashboard and all the other stuff listed in this thread that we loyal Forza players (and customers!) have been treated to with FM8. After all, it’s the best MS has to offer, and if it’s what we got, then surely the better-selling console deserves the same treatment?

Being serious for a moment, I loved the last two PGR games but I think they morphed into Horizon. Seeing the way that’s gone, a new PGR could be a nice halfway house between FH & FM. Just no motorcycles. But snow on the Nurb? Yes!

PGR is one of the best arcade racers I’ve ever played. The cars all sounded great. But unfortunately we have to deal with FM. It’s a shame that T10 is so far removed from the community. Kunos has 30 employees and look at ACC, why can’t T10 do something like that, and they have 1000 employees.

Turn10 barely has 50 full time employees. Everything is outsourced. People should really take the time to watch the game’s credits to realise what’s going on here.

Poor graphical quality of vehicles along with extremely recycled content and FOMO updates with no option to purchase these “new content” vehicles from auction. Coupled with inaccurate, outdated car models, lifeless menus/UI, upgrade bay and horrible car sounds and audio - you have FM 2023. Not at all excited to drive the Reventon, Cinque or Murcielago SV for the 20th time as a veteran FORZA player - all FM3-FM4 models.

These same and shared cars sound so much more alive, unique and engaging in FH5.

You think this could happen with Turn 10?

Definitely yes but the problem is that Forza Motorsports as absolutely zero value compared to Halo. Turn10 is already a tiny studio (compared to 343i) so I don’t really know what they could be used for in the futur.

Yes, it appears some decision-makers decided to structure the company in ways that reduce its in-house capabilities.

It seems like this studio is mostly just for brand management, not for making a great motorsport game.

Indeed because FM was never a money maker. There was no monetary reason for MS to spend much money on this project. Barely anything is done in-house at Turn10 that’s why FM is flaming hot garbage. Who are they supposed to go to if they need to add/fix anything if it was all outsourced to external studios? They now scramble aimlessly by constantly breaking the game in new & innovative ways with each update and add a radar that looks straight out of an Atari 2600 game.

Pong was my first thought the moment I saw this radar.
