Parts of the track geometry, 3D objects, etc… are completely missing from the rendering making it impossible to drive.
Input settings constantly get lost and have to be re-selected. That is crazy!! Goes back to Fanatec DD2 but I need a custom profile instead.
Did anyone a Turn 10 even tried a wheel with this game? The out-of-the box settings on a Fanatec are a total joke, just look at the reviews on YouTube. Sadly, it looks like Turn 10 thinks a racing simulator is better on a controller.
Cannot hide wheels or the arms of the drivers to further increase immersion level like other sim racing games.
Cannot pause the game from a wheel button (what if you are on a sim rig and can’t easily get out)
Layout/buttons/wheel configuration is saved but randomly gets lost or not loading, having to reselect it each time I loaded the game.
The game is a blurry mess, even with RTX 4090, can barely read the dashboard values, what the hell? FM7 was perfect on this topic.
Head effect is turned off, and yet, there is still drastic movement when braking.
Is the FOV horizontal or vertical and are the units in degrees? (the slider tip is not helpful)
No way to adjust the seat height, angle, or forward/backward to align with real life conditions (unacceptable)
same here i wanted to stream it but the track randomly disappears map flickers and performance issues

Agreed. I’ve played all of the FM and FH titles. They’ve all had issues at release, and that is to be expected with any new, modern title. But in my observation, FM2023 has been the most bug filled. And considering this is launching with the least amount of content of any recent FM title, it is unfair to blame this on increased scope or complexity.
I mostly enjoy time spent on the track. And I still have faith they will fix most of these issues. But the speed at which critical bugs are being addressed is D-class. There are game breaking bugs that have been reported since the first day of paid, early access that have not be solved.
Something or many things seem to have gone sideways in development of this game and put them well behind schedule. Its undercooked and content deprived.
Agreed on the blurry ugly game despite making my 3080ti cry FH5 was running fine on a 980Ti.
Audio was better on FH5 except tire noise and maybe the viper engine.
No seat high, no radar, weird ffb, my handbrake doesn’t work or when it does it locks the wheel period, all that making it hard for a sim pc player to enjoy a casual racing game, i know it’s no sim, but FH5 was fine on every point of that and very, very fun.
Some fews bugs as u said, like the wheel configuration but it’s okay, and my presetup of the t248 (xbox version hence why it’s working so well) is actually very good. I can pause, navigate etc.
For the rest i m pretty happy with the game mechanics, even tho right now it’s a mess to play online, between the crashes, loading screen, textures bug etc.
And there is very few races choice, i just hope it will not end up as a dead game, meaning i would have wasted 100€ …
I went back on ACC waiting for a patch.
POST SCRIPTUM: oh and i have a big concern toward the safety rating system, i m not match with any safe driver despite being ranked s (ofc coming from sim racing gaming i m more than clean and fair) i think it needs a little bit of tweaking that’s very important if you want an online active base player.
Since updating graphics drivers, I have the game optimizing shaders at every startup. This wouldn’t be so bad except that my game is also back to crashing at the end of every race. And now, tonight, I keep getting logged out of the forza servers and told that I can’t play without an internet connection. T10, I assure you that my internet is working just fine.
I think I’m done until they acknowledge and start fixing this mess. It is a shame too because, when it works, the driving feels excellent. Perhaps the best of any Forza game.
I don’t have any of the track disappearing problems. Main issues I have had is AMD GPU driver problems (7900 XTX), and I’ve managed to find a solution to those.
The blurry dash and everything definitely needs to be fixed. I prefer to just use the car’s tach instead of the HUD.
Took a bit of time to sort pc/video/fanatec etc
But it’s all working and looking nice in 4K 60 fps Vsync
No issues aside from having to select custom controller everytime game is launched
rig is a tuned Ryzen R5 5600X/3060ti
GT7 everything is sooo much easier to live with, does feel like we are playing a beta Forza
I am surprised that the game runs so differently on various (also strong) PCs.
For my part, the game runs perfect on my 4070 with all Ultra Settings on 3440x1440 at ~90FPS (without full RayTracing but DLAA).
Was so looking forward to this game, but its a stuttering mess. I know i don’t have the latest PC Setup and will probably get some stick for my 10900K 32GB and Arc 770 16GB, but actually most of the other stuff i run on that set up works without a hitch. Stuttering happens about every 6 seconds or so. I’m running the game in Medium settings, no Ray Tracing and at 1080p.
I was so desperate to play the game, i paid extra for the VIP package and i honestly feel like a total fool. This game isn’t ready for PC.
Turn 10, if your listening, you need to recognise how important this new Forza game was to fans, we have been waiting 6 years for this. There are those who had paid extra for the priviledge to play early, as well as those who have been upgrading their equipment, buying steering wheels, moving their kids out of the house early so they can convert their daughters old bedroom into a racing sim den, filing for divorce for their wives lack of understanding in the build up through September and sadly here we are, onto our 8th marriage with FM and rating on a scale of good to bad, its not good.
Have you tried rendering at 125%? That helped me immensely with the blurriness when running at 1080. Feels like it’s actually rendering at the screen resolution now.
I’ve turned off everything in the back ground that may have interferred with performance and it was a little better, but still its stuttering like mad. I’ve been playing it anyway, most crashing every 6 seconds. I tried the Multiplayer mode and the stuttering impacts where you are on the track, so the pause means you drop back from the other players and mostly create mayhem for them, so i gave up on multiplayer which is my favourite part, racing real people on the track.
I still have the 3 xbox 360’s i bought (second hand of course) to play the multiscreen Forza 3. I might dig that out again, its far more fun than FM8 at the moment.
Tried rendering at 125% unfortunately did not see much of a difference.
The stuttering is very strange, the game will happily run along at 45 to 50 fps, and at exactly every 7 seconds will pause for a fraction of a second, then carry on. The timing between pauses is exactly the same each time.
I thought it could be a bottle neck CPU vs GPU but this is not the case.
It makes not difference if I go with 1080 or 1440.
It just feels as if it takes a breath every 7 seconds then starts again.
im running the game perfectly fine on a amd vega 8 graphics card and gpu nvidia GTX1660ti. gpu is fully upgraded to latest driver. however when i run amd with latest graphics driver and software, i get bad response and overall performance. what i’ve notice on my specific machine, restore default settings to driver, within the application/software. i uninstall the driver and software completely from my computer and install the one provided in windows update. now i get no performance issues, only bug i have is i cannot run the game at ultra settings without the road becoming transparent to the sky. High/medium/Low work perfect. i also get the cpu error at beginning of launch, i can still ignore for now and run the game.
