You’re right. Given the amount of false positives it encourages even safer driving( especially defensive.)

Driving physics feel best in series (and this installment will probably be the last in the series)
The use of the Sun to change the feel of certain tracks like Nordschleife, going behind a hill and it gets dark then coming out into a sunny bit of track is nice.
Engine swap choices are up from previous and the addition of Ballast is good tho not perfect as I’d rather be able to choose where I put it

I don’t know if I can actually list anything. There’s a few decent things about the game, but they’re not praiseworthy because they’re either not an improvement on previous games (upgrades/tuning, multiplayer), or they’re still buggy (graphics, penalties)
Yes I think Freeplay is the strongest part of the game. Better than GT7 in that you can use any car on any track. The A.I. is getting better and the game is just fun to play.
Works for me! Don’t listen to the nay-sayers. The game physics has some good points but it’s not all that people are cracking it up to be.
In addition to things already mentioned:
Atmosphere - The circuits feel alive with fans, paraphernalia, trackside stuff etc, and the way they change through the day/night cycle.
I like the driving feel.
I can’t think of anything else that wouldn’t be counterbalanced with a “but”, or without being negative.
If I hadn’t played FMS I’d probably say this is a good a game, but i have.
Things which have improved:
As a GP sub it’s free!
Once in a while the game looks truly next gen.
Feels better than ever on a controller.
You can pause in race and ghost and change settings like assists, sim steering.
Building options are better but the race trans and no PI hit is just ludicrous. Makes clutch redundant. Why?
Track rubbering.
Environment sounds are great in Atmos. Going under a bridge or driving next to a wall. Being able to hear track announcer in certain tracks. (New experience for me)
Music. (Over 6 &7)
No SUV’s / race buggy’s or trucks.
Curbs are mostly better. The curb of death at Road America needs fixing though.
Economy is better.
For those that in race cockpit the radar is a massive improvement.
Overall FRR and safety ratings have improved MP standards.
Tyre strats (when available)
Puddles of death have gone.
Porsches feel fun (mostly) to drive as do most mid engine cars.
No MTX / loot boxes.
Best selection of early LMP1 cars I can remember. Actually maybe best race car roster so far. Shame we can hardly use them
Unfortunately the list of everything wrong with the game would be TL:DR and said a million times before.
I have no issues with understeer, but it might be because of part choice.
I like driving
I like the feeling with my wheel (only after a good setup)
I like the logo
I’m not sure how helpful it is in multiplayer, but in singleplayer it forces me to be honest about cutting and not bumping the AI off-track as I would occasionally do in FM7 to gain the lead.
And to your point, it will never be perfect, nor do I think it’s even possible for it to be perfect. I think the best it can aspire to is to be more often right than wrong, and I feel it achieves that.
Ultimately, it’s a game I’ve been playing fairly regularly for 9 months. As such, it’s clearly not a bad game. The driving physics, choice of cars and weather conditions are all fun and I’m yet to get bored of hot-lapping/tuning.
That’s not to say people aren’t right to be highly critical of T10. The game should be much better given the history of the franchise. The number of bugs (which change each update) is ridiculous, the lack of development of the single player game is poor and the reliance on FOMO is extremely cynical.
@Jezza14 , not a bad assessment overall. And I might even still be playing the game if the bugs hadn’t invaded the gamepass xbox one access to the game. It was pretty good up until update 10. Then it became unplayable. They must have preloaded something about a week prior to the actual download of 10. Because that’s when the gamepass bug bit. I tried a few times before 10 hit and it never worked. Other games worked fine just not FM8. Then 10 dropped and it just got worse so why bother? The best thing about this game is it told me to quit.
Nothing seems right ATM, judging from their attitude after issues are reported. I don’t think things are going improve all that much, because they are outright dismissing issues and closed off threads as “closed issues” or just taking forever to fix things that shouldn’t take all that long.
I think things must be an absolute mess at their office right now because they seem to have little direction or action plan for improving the game. I am extremely disappointed as a customer and probably won’t be supporting their franchise in future.
The real ppl will be replaced by A.I. soon. All studios must panic atm. I am not kidding or overexaggerating. That is a real threat to them. If all you need are like 3 words to make an A.I. create a picture, what you think happens in games studios?
My sister has a job that has to do with social media, I am pretty sure she will lose that job to an A.I. but she is so left winged she doesn’t even see it coming lol.

Nvidia is the second highest stock value of them all. It’s creepy.
Now imagine still buying AMD hardware, OOOOH all consoles are AMD.
I will continue to buy AMD CPU but never GPU’s.
