I keep playing Forza Motorsport 2023 because

It feels fantastic to play. I play with a wheel and I have never played the game with a pad, not really interested after I got a wheel. I got my settings for my Logitech g920 online, which is weird…there should be wheel settings ready to go in the game…however it feels so good now.

EDIT: Important to note that I play the game on Series X min Performance RT.
And this is why I keep coming back. This and the fact that the game keeps being updated with new tracks and cars.

I find it very strange that T10 is not leaning more towards wheel players or at least acknowledging that we exist. The physics in this game is the closest thing to being in a real car that I have experienced in a game. Yes maybe Asetto Corsa is better, but it’s not gonna be “night and day” as some “experts” claim it to be. I also prefer a game that lets me drive both hatchbacks and open wheel race cars. :racing_car: Anyway…Going back for a race around Nordschleife.

The only reason i play Forza Motorsport is because it can be played with Controller. For the real sims i would need a steering wheel and i don’t want to play with a wheel.

But IMO the handling in FM7 was better, it was more responsive and “sharper”. In FM23 you can’t immediatly turn left or right to a 100% no there is always that time gap of like 1.5 or 2 seconds until the “virtual wheel” is all the way left or right. It can be seen in the cockpit view. I think it wasn’t like that in FM7 there you could steer all the way immediatly.

I’m happy there’ a delay. Otherwise the cars would look completely unrealistic in multiplayer.

The game is a simcade not a simulation. And fact is FM7 had the better handling.

The thing you are happy about is what makes all the cars understeer so much in FM23.

Anything you play with a controller is a Simcade, so, don’t judge if you don’t know what you are talking about.
And all this “Simcade” thing comes out from people that don’t explain what it means!

It’s a mix of simulation and arcade. What else is there to explain? I been playing games like Forza Motorsport since Gran Turismo 1 i know what i am talking about.

So Mario Kart is a simcade. It’s good to know

FM23 is leaning more towards the sim side of things and I am very happy that it does. If you need more Cade in your sim Forza Horizon is an excellent choice. This is just my personal opinion of course.

Arcade is when you go more sideways to go faster and this doesn’t happen in FORZA or Horizon, but they gave more Grip on Horizon , but you still can’t win going full drifting like you would do in a ARCADE.
You guy just call it SimArcade because you want to reduce it’s class, like a BMW guy saying that Toyotas are Shutty cars, you don’t accept they are better cars.
Simcades, BECOME those games that you play with Controller and Third person view, even iRacing can become a Simcade if who drives it uses third person a controller and doens’t make you setup your car, because you don’t get/learn what a simulation is created for and that is teaching you to drive a VEHICLE!!!
PS: I Know you can setup your car in iRacing, but if yiu don’t do it, you are treating it like a Simcade in that POV!!

So, If you don’t setup your car, you play the game like if it was a simcade ?

In the setup POV, yes. There are lot’s of people that want to have the “Spoiled rich boy pilot life”; Get in a car and drive, not giving a F___K to all the work done by engineers, so even if you use first person, with a wheel, but don’t know nothing about setups, you are treating that game as a Simcade.

Okay and if you use the visible racing line but tune your car and playing with wheel + first person view, is this a simcade for you ?

That is a visual Assist, it doesn’t take control of your car and like everyone knows, it doesn’t make you faster, but it teaches you at the same time.
I’m talking about the game without any kind of driver assist the will input controls.
And in real like there are tracks with the ideal line painted, they are use in training sessions, used also in Kart tracks

I learned how to drive a real with Forza 3 and a wheel attached to a bedroom table. People can call it simcade as much as they want. I always played with no assists and feel it’s pretty realistic.

But…huh…it’s a racing game not an engineer game. I fully understand people who want to get in a car and drive. It’s called racing game.

In training session not in race

In a race, how many people do you see in the paddock? I don’t see only the pilot, if you do, any game you touch for you is a Simcade.

Yeah but you are the driver not the engineer. For you it’s like there’s 7 people in a F1 team, the director, 4 persons in the pitcrew and 2 drivers who are the engineer at the same time

The game is a simcade the device you play it with doesn’t determine if it’s a simulation, arcade or a simcade.

Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo are Simcades
Forza Horizon and Need for Speed are Arcades
Assetto Corsa is a Simulation

If i play Microsoft Flight Simulator with a controller does it become a Simcade? No it doesn’t.
If i play Truck Simulator with a controller, does it become a Simcade? No it doesn’t.
If i play Forza Motorsport with a Wheel, does it become a Simulation? No it doesn’t.

The games are what they are, it’s not the devices you play them with that determine what genre they are.
