Let's talk about audio

We’re talking about different things. (It’s probably my fault because this is a thread about cars sounding “atrocious”)
You guys are telling me how some specific cars engines/mufflers sound, and I’m talking about how all the different sounds in the games are mixed together in-race. Thats the “flatness” I’m mentioning. First of all I’m always playing in bumper or bonnet cam. It doesn’t matter how much I pump up the volume, the sound of my own car is low compared to collisions, other cars, tires, rain etc, even if I lower everything else at 70 or less in the game settings.
EDIT: Just for the sake of the argument, I tried with the normal audio coming from the S90C tv, set to stereo and later on to Dolby Atmos, then I also tried to set everything to Dolby Digital 5.1 using the audio from my AVR system (which also shows DD 5.1 is active), all with car audio volume at 100 and tires/collisions at 70: small collisions are basically explosions drowning everything else happening on track, no matter the sound settings. For the tires, in 5.1, it’s ok though. Should I put everything even lower than 70? It shouldn’t be up to me to balance these things in the game settings to make it somewhat acceptable and close to reality.
[Plus I noticed that there isn’t even an option for stereo/5.1/7.1, unlike in FM7. Speaking of FM7, I just tried the 370Z on Lime Rock in both titles with the same audio settings and as I though the audio is better balanced in the previous title.]

I can’t always use the AVR (question of energy consumption). Things should be well balanced even using the tv speakers. Again, I don’t remember ever complaining about the sound mixing of any game on any console. It’s just this specific title on Series X.

That is probably why there’s a thread, with a poll, created by the community manager for audio devices and settings feedback
