Simple poll to see where the community is in relation to progress of this game
Iād like another middle ground option, there is basically one positive option and 2 negatives
Still my favourite game. On the plus side I see that they indeed implemented more āmotorsportā features such as animated pitstops, racing tyre compounds, tyre deg multipliers and structured MP racing. They also removed SUVs and cars like the Honda Odyssey.
When it comes to the negatives, see most of my other comments on these forums
I guess it depends on how you play. For people seeking a strong career mode itās tough.
Their priorities seem to be a little messed up atm.
How can we be over a year in and still missing STATS? STAAAAATS!!! Games in the early 2000s had that!
They wasted their time putting in some CarPG system (Which they updated to make irrelevant) and didnāt even include stats to keep track of it all.
To me the game and its development is irrelevant by now. I wasted too much money for a āgameā that did not deliver (and probably never will).
Been holding out ever since launch but the time itās took to get to where it is now has me running out of hopium. The game seems a random mess of events with no real roadmap or inkling of what itās supposed to be in the long run.
I just wanted FM4 with new content & bells on but here we are.
Game is fine.
Could be better in various ways but I enjoy it enough to still play a few hours a week.
Since the jan2025 āannouncementā, I find it distracting to drive around on a AAA game that has been somewhat BS.
The game is alright. I hope they continue building upon it.
Im happy with the game, i only play in rivals mode, currently driving every car on 3 selected tracks to compare how accurate the PI system is, spoiler, itās very inaccurate, basically every muscle car is at least 50 PI overrated, on the other hand FWD and AWD cars are finally up to speed, at least in the lower classes thus far. I have played this game for about 600 hrs, planning to play at least double that. I have no bugs, the game runs stable, graphics are nice, the new physics are fun, its not a 10/10, but for me, id rate it 8/10.
Iām happy with the multiplayer side of the game I think itās better than past instalments of the series.
And i enjoy the building tuning and online side of the game.
The career mode in this forza and past forza motorsport titles for me has always just a way to earn early credits and a few cars.
I do wish some past features like, auction house and clubs makes a return and race stats and storefront to see what paints or tunes you have available.
I think if this game was a new contender in the genre, things would be seen as much more positive. Unfortunately its not a new contender, its a two decade old franchise. It released below many people expectations and after a year has still yet to meet those expectations for many.
So while the game has progressed since launch, i think overall for me the game has been a disappointment. While i expected things werent going to last, their recent message to the community really compounds my disappointment even further.
I dont really know where they go from here. I never felt as though this game had a solid foundation to build on, over the course of the past year this has been proven to be the case as adding anything has been either a chore or or outright impossible.
They really needed to actually build this game from the ground up and unfortunately it seems as though they wont get that chance again.
I will be honest, I am no longer happy with Forza, but thatās not because I donāt see the merit in the new game. I just see it being turned into a modern Forza 4, which was the game that nearly made me quit playing Forza altogether. I donāt want to be handed everything I could want on a silver platter, and I havenāt played as much lately because Iām finding games that meet that requirement of actual progression better than Forza could ever. The game is bare-bones, but weāve been dealing with the changing attitudes of Turn 10 since Day 1 of the OG Forza in 2005. I donāt think they want to hear that there are different groups in their community looking for different games, because thatās really not what they are concerned with anymore
No, not that happy, to be honest. Seems to me like FM 2023 was released half heartedly and merely as a Gamepass addition rather than a true Forza reboot for the current gen. Looks like they are still half heartedly updating it.
Follow-up question:
I donāt follow the question. Whatās the scenario Iām voting on as to whether Iād play more or less? If more features were added and the game improved then Iād definitely play it more. If it stays the same, then Iād anticipate that Iāll gradually start playing less.
Regarding the pre-launch plans to market this game as a plattform that will be build upon and evolve over years the new Community Message was quite a downer.
Seems like staff has already been moved, plans & self-given deadlines are not held (career & Creative Hub), frequency of added tracks becomes slower and slower.
In short, itās already smelling like āweāre done hereā.
Given the disastrous state of the game at launch and lack of communication the post-launch support has gone like the game development - uninspired & minimalistic. Just enough content to keep FOMO alive but nowhere near the amount that I would say the game is evolving.
No car packs, no expansion, no new game modes or meaningful QoL updates.
The menu is still the same time-consuming, clunky & awful crap it was at launch.
Challenge Hub, radar and drift mode seem pretty thin for over 1 year of support.
The answer for me is āNoā when I consider it all. Just keeping myself to things that have been mentioned as plannedā¦
The single player Cup/Tour update has never happened. No retention/return for prior monthly Tours.
The AI often seems improved, yes. Compared to launch, especially. But itās never felt like T10 have real control over the AI. Many of these odd behaviors the AI have still happen, randomly.
With regard to things that I wondered why they werenāt happeningā¦
The monthly tours and featured content never once has felt like there was a coordinated development and marketing push to drive new player engagement. The biggest and most bizarre case was with NASCAR. A massive property. They have us the three generic cars, and some Tours.
Okay. But why not give us at least 8 or 10 custom paints from the real-world NASCAR series drivers to drive NASCAR fan interest? Why not do a special configuration of the AI so that oval track races remotely resemble what real-world NASCAR (and itās fans) expect to see? Pack racing, bump drafting⦠The option to choose how long a race should run (short, med, long)? Use the Challenge Hub to put real-world NASCAR drivers best times up as Rivals promotions?
This same question rings true again with the Australian V8 series.
And again with IMSA and such with the cover cars.
Those are the kind of moments where new content releases could have been more heavily invested, and used to promote FM and XBox to real-world motorsports fans. Instead, it often felt as though FM was just being promoted to the existing player base⦠which was not good anyway.
Add to the above last weekās Community Update, which sounds a lot like none of those things are ever coming to FM⦠Indeed that the game is wrapping up now? No, not happy with where FM is now.
The overall thread is one asking if weāre happy with the state of the game, so assuming the game is as it is right now, and what we know about the 4 month roadmap (track in May, very little content/features before then), does it change the way we play?
For me it doesnāt. I play 2-3 hours a week with my friends, and sometimes jump into random lobbies on other days if thereās an appealing race series on. None of the upcoming roadmap makes me excited to play more Forza, but it also doesnāt make me want to play less or quit the game.
Ah gotcha. Less then for me I think - feel Iām running out of things to interest me a bit. Probably still do some S and R open but less than currently.
I think the only things that would increase my playtime at this point are:
Assuming the game stays the way it is (and the roadmap doesnāt hint at any significant changes in the first half of the year) then Iāll just do my weekly race night and play other games for the rest of the week.
