Is there a time limit for reward cars in the career?

Hello, I am a bit confused about if there is a time limit for the reward cars in career mode in Forza Motorsport. A post on instagram tells me that I can only get the Audi R8 until the 16 of november? I dont see any information in the game that supports that it is like that?

Best regards

Yes, the reward cars for the Featured Tour (2020 Acura ARX-05 DPi) and the Open Class Tour (2020 Audi R8 V10 Performance) appear to be limited time available, and will be gone when those tours are replaced (16th I think?). No telling if or when they’ll be back. It may yet be possible that they ill be added to the autoshow at some point, but this is purely speculative for now.

I really have to question the logic behind doing that, if it is indeed the case. I’m all for adding new content…the game desperately needs it. But I’m NOT in favor of adding in new content while simultaneously REMOVING “old” content.

At this rate, people who just get into the game several months down the road are still going to be faced with the same limited number of things to do as we have right now, all that will have changed is their names and details. I don’t see how this is supposed to be a healthy plan for the game going forward.

FOMO and time-limited rewards are atrociously player-hostile.

Both games should be adding event reward cars to their respective Autoshows for direct credit purchase once the event is over.

Those who are able to/want to participate get a free car. Those who miss the event are still able to pick up that car later and aren’t punished for not being able to play the game during that window.

People have real lives outside of these games. No one should be forced into a continuous time commitment just to feel like they can have fun in a game.

I absolutely agree. I Forza horizon 5 i had every single car up until the point of starfields release as fh5 was the only game i would play on a regular basis. Once starfield released i played that for a couple weeks assuming that i would be able to get the cars i missed in the auction house.

I was unable to get them from the auction house, and it didnt matter than i had 200m credits if theres no cars to purchase. And since i missed out on the two cars i simply stopped playing entirely. I was no longer able to have a 100% garage and i wasnt willing to wait 8 months for them to return as a reward and neither was i willing to sit in the auction house for hours hoping that one shows up and isnt snagged by someone before i had a chance.

Because of the fact that you cant simply acquire missed cars i havent purchased the last car pack nor will i purchase the next one, whereas i gladly would if it were to complete my collection so bow theyve lost out on money because they decided to make it where you have to play there game consistently if you want to have a full garage.

So assuming the Nov 14 update actually fixes the progress saving bug, that leaves 2 days to complete all races to get those cars…

Yeah I don’t mean to sound overly dramatic but I think it’s INSANE for a game with as little single player content as this one has to be removing some of that content just to exchange with an equal amount. Bizarre decisions, absolutely crazy. All in service to the almighty Gamepass and Phil Spencer I guess. Certainly not in service to the players.

I don’t think it is so bad. Yea this game has short campaign. But they will rotate some events every month and there will be free cars. Which will make you to return in single player mode. When i done with campaign, i had really nothing to do there anymore, i just went to multiplayer. But when they rotate single player stuff, it will make me to return there and make a bit chill from multiplayer, until i get new cars.

And if peeps are struggling with time, they can allways set lower difficulties, skip practises etc, to get reward cars faster.

Edit:
It works similarly like Festival playlist in FH5.

They have a lot to learn from PG how to visually and clearly tell the player which content is time limited and what are FOMO rewards.

Yup, this one is missed. I just accidently found info that there is some kind of time limited events. There is no clearly ingame info about that.

Agree with you, I guess being forced to commit with something cannot be on same sentence as “fun” :joy:

This is how games, multiplayer games mostly, trying to force you to spend more of your time. And you can’t do anything here. It’s not forza only. It’s 90% of all multiplayer games nowadays on pc, on consoles and on mobile phones. You will not see this in offline games. And you can’t do anything here. It’s all around now.

In many games there is called “battle pass”. You spend your real money, to get some bonuses, but those bonuses are time locked. It means, you’re not only spend your money, but you must spend your time aswell to get those benefits. And i see more and more this system in different games.
I wasn’t really surprised if that kind of system comes here too someday. But this is just business for them and you can’t do anything here.

I’m 35, and those days are gone, when you simply buy a disc and you can get all of it. Now you spend real money or do hard by spending your time, or in some games do both.

I sadly didn’t realize that there is a timed R8 to get until I read it here… Completly ignored the SP and drove in MP… Gotta spend time on the weekend to get this :smirk:

Yea. T10 didn’t make it clear ingame. I found it accidently. But you can set low difficulty, skip practises etc to run it faster for rewards.

Anyway, it’s only t10 fault, there is no normal information in game by itself.

Same. And probably gonna stay that way since there no hopper to try the R8, that’s why I’m not in a rush to get it.

I noticed today on the Open Series banner, there’s a little red flag in the corner, with a stopwatch icon and “7D”.

I’m assuming it would also be on the Series with the Acura as the bonus, but I’ve already completed that one.

For the record, I still say that this game needs to be adding content, not rotating it. As it currently stands, the entire Builders Cup contains roughly the same amount of racing as ONE of the championship series from FM7… which IIRC had 6 total! It is inconceivable to me that anyone at Turn 10 can feel that this is sufficient and is comfortable charging $70 for what is essentially a skeleton of a game compared to past entries.

It’s pretty bad for people with no interest in multiplayer. If freeplay worked well it’d be a different story, but despite my initial experience being decent, I now see that opponent cars still remain stock unless you limit yourself to racing in the arbitrary divisions that the devs set, creating multiclass races results in more ctds than actual races, and I have to alter the event setup for each new race or I get the same lap count (despite setting it to auto based on length). I’ve still put a decent amount of time in the game because I like driving, and I’ve refrained from being overly negative, preferring to give the devs a chance, but on this front, they are squandering the game’s potential and wasting players’ time, and I can see no particular reason other than to drag out Gamepass subscription time.

Thanks for this.

It’s currently quite hard to easily see what FOMO cars are up for grabs and completely missed the Open Class Tour and reward.
