Career mode to long!

Anyone else think the career mode is way to long?, I’d like to get 100% of the achievements, but the career grind is ridiculously long. You have to finish the career 6 times over to reach 100%.
Had the game offered any variety I wouldn’t complain, but after you have finished the showcases you still have to race solo for about 90 hours or so, doing the same races over and over again.
Why have Turn 10 chosen this?

I personally would rather have it be too long than too short honestly.

I hear you EinarN! Loud and Clear… The career mode is not to long, but you sad it Your self: variety. thats why it feel so long. I Never felt that in FM2-FM4.
Yes we could always play free play if we don’t feel for online racing. But when u can’t choose for example: late 70’ models racing. ore only skyline’s. ore only civic’s the point is lost for me. In free play it is allways the best cars that race. so the fun is gone already there. if we were able to have more choises in free play; problem solved. But at the moment we have not.

Still gonna get that achivment though.

edit: The showcases are allot more fun then the career…

Einar fra Norge eller? :stuck_out_tongue: hehe

I agree do to the monotony. I wouldn’t mind a long career path if there was a good amount of variety. Also, I don’t understand why there aren’t championship points considering its a racing game with cars based off real life racing. This having to finish 3rd is a real turn off and probably will keep me from finishing very much of the career. I only play it now if leagues are closed or too few players in multiplayer.

Agreed, its not so much the length as it is the variety

Forza 4’s career was pretty much perfect, great variety of events and tracks and best of all YOU got to choose what kind of car you drove

Yeah it’s not the length, it’s that it’s the same races for each body type. Would be nice if when we switched body types, that we got different track layouts and number of laps.

I love career mode. I just completed the Super Street volume 100% and have not felt any of it to be a grind.
I am currently at Level 151 having completed all the showcase races and most of the achievements.

I’ve also completed the super street volume and that didn’t take to long, it’s when you get further on and the 6 race series with races taking 12+ min each you will feel the grind bore you to death.
I estimate the last volume to take about 20-25 hours and thats a lot(currently att 44%). The problem for me is that it has taken the fun away from the game, and I’m starting to dislike it because of this, and I wish it wasn’t so because I’ve always loved Forza. It doesn’t make it a better game if you force players to complete the races 100x times over, and I know you don’t have to get 100%, but a lot of players do and a lot of us feel this grind is unnecessery, much like the “Thru the pack” achivement, which can not be obtained unless you boost, and even then it’s pure luck and you might never get it.

Why is “THRU THE PACK” not obtained from normal racing?

Because it requires you to have a full public lobby with 24 players (none of them can drop out), then you have to start in 24 place (which is radom) and then finish 1st.
I’ve yet entered one lobby with 24 players, let alone start in 24th place, even if the stars would align and that happend I still would have to finish 1st.
It is technically possible, just like winning 1000 races back to back(which would be easier), but it’s highly unlikely.

I got it in under 50 races on both my account in normally race. Theres nothing wrong with this one.

Good for you. I’m yet to see a 24-player lobby. lol

As to the topic at hand, career wasn’t too long per se, it’s just too boring, which makes it feel long even though it really isn’t.

If it wasnt so boring with silly restrictions and the same grid it’d be alot more fun.

Several of the endurance races took from 2.5 - 3 hrs each. I didn’t even find those to be a boring grind, but at this point I sure do know nearly all of the nuances of those tracks.

Too long for what? It’s not like you have to finish Career mode before you do something else in the game. Go play multiplayer, go play leagues or rivals if the monotony is overwhelming. So you want 100% completion?. Who cares. I guess you might sleep comfy and better at night knowing you’ve done all you can do in the game. But really at the end of the day, what does it matter?

They do need to change the format though. Championship points Instead of the top 3 finish. Also let us play any car in the correct classes.

A great amount of gamers care, and the way they have done it doesn’t add anything positive to the game.
To compare, lets say if to complete Halo you had to finish the last mission 25 times, I bet you there would be riots :).

When you have played thru the career the first time it makes sense because you get better cars and higher racing clases, but once you’ve fininshed that it makes no sense to do it over 6 again times, at least not in my mind.

Fair enough. It may be long and tedious but I guess i’m one of the few who likes it like that. I just hate the top 3 finish thing. So gimmicky. Really hope t10 goes away from this.

Take your time, I do one or two sections a week between 4-12 races, 51% so far.

Forza 6 actually has the shortest Career Mode in any Forza Motorsport game. Ever.

I think.

Also, I’m pretty sure that the World Championship races in Forza 4 are longer than all of Forza 6. I think Forza 6 feels longer than it is though, because it’s really rather repetitive. I wish we had the Event List back, that system was nearly perfect.
