Why is the tire wear in free play almost non-existant compared to multiplayer? Shouldn’t this be considered a bug? If not, then what is the logic behind this and can we get an option to make them match? I have the maximum tire wear rate set in free play and tires wear at about 1/3rd the rate they do in multiplayer.
The biggest issue with tire wear is the sudden drop off in MP. The other day I was in a clean MP lobby and everyone had perfect nice lines. Then around the 6rh or 7th lap it was if there was this magical line where as soon as you passed it you would lose control because half the players suddenly lost control and spun out.
I’ve made a post about this in the ‘Report New Issue’ forum in the Troubleshoooting Hub
Head over there and give it a like and a comment so that T10 don’t miss it and take it seriously.
Because right now it doesn’t even work in private multiplayer either, which is a huge issue for communities running their own leagues
I’ll be sure and do this. Ty.
The mentioned post:
Anybody know when this is getting addressed? I don’t want to do MP all the time just for reasonably believable tire wear.
Please update single player/career/free play with the correct tire wear values for the individual tires!
In most of short length online races (e-b class, sometimes even in a and s class) u can do whole race on Soft compound, making non race tyre tunes lot slower compared to meta race tyre tunes.
In e-c class races u can just pic any car, put on race tyres, and win most of races just by using soft compound.
Also in case of Forza GT spec races, u can easily do medium length race on Soft + medium strategy, making hard tyre compound obsolete in most of races.
The only exception are touring cars, but that’s becouse these cars are FWD.
- It’s ok now
- It last too long
- I don’t care
I don’t think the compounds are the issue here, it’s that the races are too short.
According to Gameplay - Race Tires wear down differently in private multiplayer - (1638983) - #31 by T10ManteoMax it’s been solved and working as intended.
Whether the intended behaviour is desirable for us is a separate question.
I’d like to see a tyre wear multiplier setting available in Free Play and Private Multiplayer.
It was later moved back to Known Issues:
Hmm making races bit longer could help with this issue, but if u make them too long, medium compound will not last long enough, making race tyres lot slower than sport tyres.
Even now on hakone or maple it’s hard to keep front tyres alive when u use medium compound, if u don’t know how to tune your car properly.
correct. i don’t understand why open class races are set to short instead of medium. at the very least, one of the two open classes in a given week should be at medium length.
It would force all players to use non race tyre tunes in E-S class races (sport tyres can last whole medium length race), and tbh I like this idea.
Interesting topic because I think it’s dependent on the individual car physics. For example in X class the Ferrari and McLaren can make a full race with mediums but with the new AMR pro the soft only last 1.5 laps on most tracks. I would like it just like GT7 where the hopper shows the tire or fuel damage multiplier and it changes with each introduction of the hopper
Agree! If the races would be longer the soft compound would last 10 to 20 laps, depending on the track. I think that’s totally reasonable.
I think soft compound should last 3 laps max for every class while in E and D you can use soft compound for 7/8 laps
Different tyre multiplayer for each race would definitely fix this problem of soft tyre abuse in low class races, and also could fix problem with tyre wear on tracks like maple where medium tyres die way too early.
Be able to do a whole race on soft with still a good amount of grip at the end definitely shouldn’t be allowed
Stow the hyperbole. Building a car to maximize grip by using the grippiest tire at the expense of horsepower isn’t abuse, it’s just a different way of building a car. More grip makes for better wheel to wheel racing, so I vehemently oppose the idea of altering the game to force people on less grippy tires.
Besides, driving on sport tires is incredibly boring.
You still have the grippiest tire even with medium compound
