I'm no longer able to AFK level up my cars?

Just look for the “original drinking bird”. Or use something like AutoHotkey to automate pressing buttons. I’ve seen code to do that already and it works well.

Not if you - like me - have played nearly every Forza game and know how 95% of the cars drive without even turning on the engine.

The handling files are still of the same origin when the car was introduced to Forza and the PI system underneath remained basically the same. That’s why the meta has a stable of identical cars throughout the Forza series and experienced players can judge the potential of new additions quite accurately before the car is even added.

For me, driving the cars stock does nothing.
Building & testing them is what gives me the most fun.

The game is sadly dead then, if this is the case. Enjoy the 3 players left on this game by February 2024.

I don’t want to though. I want to play Forza Motorsport, the way I have been playing for nearly 2 decades.

I don’t want to aimlessly drive a car in a Multiplayer lobby, be uncompetitive, only by the time I eventually level 1 car up, the lobby has been rotated out.

If you’re a simple single player gamer, with no other games or media to consume, then fine, enjoy the grind.

I have waaaay to many games to play. It’s the gamepass problem  But I do see your point. Last night I thought of a solution that I would have liked to see: more stock car lobbies on rotation in multiplayer! I actually love those races were we are all on the same playing field, and running a few multiplayer races will level your car to where you have most upgrades. They could (and maybe should?) also tie the xp system to car types or something like that. IDK. Maybe it’s more important that you OG’s get the system you are used too than us returning fans enjoying this new system, because I can’t lie; I’m really enjoying it.

Alright I figured out how to make this work

Get your self a wife and a baby :joy:

Wife’s on mat leave right now gave her instructions to just hit A on controller a few times every 30 minutes haha

Really hope t10 see the mass backlash in this system

Keep the system I don’t care but let us afk lvl cars again I love tuning cars for people and trying things and racing in hlcs but now it’s harder then ever when someone like me has 1-2 hours if I’m lucky a day to play

Spec races are brilliant, I wish there were more, and also stuck around for a lot longer, rather than a week or month.

Its just do degrading hopping online, and seeing a Hopper, then realising I would love to try a load of my cars, only to realise I have to grind the hell out of the game to get a handful of cars to be competitive

Forza Horizon players ruined Forza Motorsport.

They are supposed to be two different entities, I played Forza Horizon 1 and 2 and stopped because I prefered Forza Motorsport more. Now, it seems Forza Motorsport is taking FH systems such as a stupid grindfest that is Car Points.

The only people actually enjoying Car Points and grinding are the Horizon players. Even so, people are trying to circumvent the system by leaving the game on while they do something else.

I’ve been a fan of Forza Motorsport since FM4 and I thought FM5 was terrible, this FM is worst and by far the worst racing experience I’ve ever played.

I wish Gran Turismo would come to PC or Project Cars would be better. Some legitimate competition in the PC market would kill Forza Motorsport and I’d say good riddance.

Between the crappy Homogalation system and now Car points Forza or Turn10 and go away. Its clear they hate gamers who enjoyed anything pre FM7, they only car about milking money for the gamepass and people BUY INTO IT. Its pathetic.

As I get older I realize, the fight against Microtransactions, and predatory grind systems to get more money out of you are the prefered in games now. While I sound like old man yells at cloud, its clear that the younger generation just gobbles it up and hits X to buy and grind and say “its good!”

You paid 60-70$ for a video game, it should be a FULL GAME.

Look up videos of FM4, hundreds of cars, a whole lot more tracks, you could upgrade your car freely, stuff wasn’t locked, stuff wasn’t taken away if anything, stuff was added to the game and experience.

Now its the same 10 tracks, maybe a hundred cars THAT YOU HAVE TO LEVEL UP, and they take away tracks, lock content, all to just milk more money out of you.

Maybe in a year when no one is playing the game anymore and all of the DLC is out and they turn off the live service crap and give you access to all the tracks and series the game will be good, but until then this game is the worst racing game I’ve experienced.

How exactly are Horizon players ruining Motorsport if you don’t have to grind anything in Horizon either? I mean, maybe in the beginning you have to grind for credits to buy more cars as you start out with very little cash in Horizon. But after a few weeks you banked enough credits to buy any car you want. So… explain.

Just to be clear, CarXP is not a Forza Horizon mechanism and they would be absolutely slaughtered by that community if PGG tried to bring in something similar. The whole point of Horizon is the ability to jump in any car and play the game how you want to play.

I am absolutely a bigger fan of Horizon, and I hate the caRPG leveling nonsense Turn10 shoehorned into the Motorsport franchise. I don’t know why you decided to add such a pointlessly antagonistic comment in what is otherwise a reasonable post. As for there being a lot of cars, that has been a thing since FM1 and FH1, and is nothing remotely new.

Lol! I’ll be 47 in January and I must say that you are the quintessential “old man yelling at clouds”. I think this FM is fantastic and I have to muster a lot of willpower to stop playing when I should. Why people don’t get Gamepass if they play more games than this one is beyond me, but even IF you payed the full price, the game will be supported with updates and new content for years! In fact you can look to FH5 and see how the model works there (I actually played a fair bit of FH5 last night after a long session of FM). FM23 needs several more updates to be the game it should be, but it was the same with GT7 and I hear it was the same with FM7 as well.

So for the sake of those few who wish to enjoy the game, but can’t due to possible physical or perhaps mental limitations we should shut them out of the game? All because a few stiff shirts (and I’m not pointing that finger at you) don’t like the process of AFK?

I’m 65 and the senses and reflexes aren’t as sharp as they were even a couple of years ago. I know there are a few guys older than me who do very well. I also know there are several guys younger than me who really need these driving aides to enjoy the game. And they take absolutely nothing away from others playing the game anyway they desire.

And if others choose to abuse the aides to play the game according to the way they wish to play, that to takes nothing away from me and the way I play the game.

What I can say, is this, a pattern of availability has been established for people with limited abilities. If T10 tried to move away from that at this point, I think it would be safe to say there would be legal action pending on behalf of the ADA Compliance nature which has already been established. Based on that simple assumption. I don’t forsee any chance of T10 or Microsoft allowing the driving aides to be completely removed.

A vote to take away the CarXP mechanism, not the assisted driving.

Well ok. Now I’m confused, is this thread about AFK or CarXP?

Both, people are complaining that they can no longer use AFK to level up their cars, because they don’t want to spend the large amount of time required to level them up, so the underlying issue is CarXP.

To which I shall say it again, with emphasis:

There is no fix for CarPG that makes any more sense than simply removing it.

It’s a system that never should have been implemented in the first place. The fact that they pushed through with it, even after the sustained and near-universal rejection of it, speaks unfortunate volumes.
