So ive made some AWD tunes and they arent bad but i can never get the power down on all of my RWD cars for some reason. It really annoys me that i always have to swap to AWD when i dont want to use it. Can someone please help me and give me some advice?
In forza there’s no answer other than simply being worse off sadly. No matter how good you are at controlling RWD if you swap you can give it so much more throttle you will end up being faster. Since drivetrain loss seems to be nonexistent there is no benefit to RWD and FWD, only a way too small PI loss that no other upgrade can beat. Unless a car doesn’t have the power to spin the wheels IE: some D-B class cars could be better off with other upgrades with their available PI. AWD has too much benefits not to use on pretty much everything sadly. Especially at S1 and above.
To negate rear wheel traction loss you need to make serious sacrifices in other areas.
Softer springs can allow the chassis to raise its front and lean back in a smoother manner during acceleration which reduces the weight “slamming” on your rear wheels during acceleration resulting in traction loss. This obviously makes some cars handle worse and can cause your suspension to bottom out requiring you to raise the ride height which affects handling even more.
Setting camber to 0 degrees in the rear will let you have more grip in a straight line in exchange for lowering your ability to stick in corners, can be useful for tracks with long straights if you have a really high amount of horsepower.
Significantly increasing the size of your gears, most notable first gear, or upshifting early to lower the cars acceleration can make traction loss more manageable.
Drag tires give it a lot of straight line traction in exchange for cornering grip. And you will want to run the widest rear tires available obviously. Otherwise upgrade race tires before anything else.
Lowering your tire pressure will increase the surface area, in exchange for once again handling and cornering grip. If you go too low it will also cause tires to overheat more easily which is already a big problem with RWD often spinning the tires.
Last there’s the most obvious and most important way to get the power down: don’t apply it all at once. Ease onto the throttle instead of slamming it and don’t give it 100% at lower speeds.
