I am looking for just 1 AWD drift tune that I can download. Someone in here must have something good shared. I do consider myself a tuner and prefer AWD and Rally/Off-road tuning. I am lost when it comes to tuning drift. I tried looking for someone in the tuning lounge, but found nothing. Could anyone please give me a recommendation?
i dont really know if this helps or its remotely close to AWD , but for RWD tunes i find easy to bump up the tire pressure ,as it takes the grip away , stiffen the springs , get the angle to max and lower the ride as low as you can . Also be sure to put the differential to max acceleration ( ik that for awd you have the option to switch the center of the accel from front to center or back , i would suggest put more power in the back so your car wont grip when getting the rev limiter bagging ) . Manual keeps things a bit more easier if you ask me , just getting a bit sideways using the handbrake and then keep the momentul going with a fixed gear/gears and counter steer . Hope this helps a bit at least .
I have a few AWD drift tunes out there that are pretty good for all kinds of situations. While the above poster does give some good advice, slamming the offroad drifter can be pretty bad. The reason being that dirt/mud/snow will have more bumps and jumps than street drifting in which the car can be easily thrown off. Also, most AWD drifters are highly tuned because even at a 40/60 approach to power ratios between the front and the back will keep the car from wanting to keep a slide going and will try to straighten out. This is also a reason why AWD cars usually can’t take a corner.
Your car’s tires help a lot with drifting too. The sweet spot for most drifters is 32 PSI WHILE drifting. Meaning you have to know the pressure change by turning off the annoying Anna crap and throwing the telemetry up and monitoring the tire’s pressure while drifting around. The only reason to raise the tire pressure up high is when the car is under powered and it needs the over inflated tires to get them spinning in the first place.
Keeping the car in Manual ( or Manual w/ Clutch), Traction Control Off, and Stability Control Off will always help so you can keep the car sideways and either A) Not lose power, and B) keep the car from being electronically straightened out.
