hi everybody new here. first time drifter. in any game. I play on a xbox with normal controller. I’m am starting to get the hang of it. my problem is drifting on dirt. I just keep spinning out or I cant get power to the road. I have tried tune I have found on the web and tunes I have downloaded on the game and it seems that they are for a wheel not a controller. I like rwd. manual w/out clutch. I have watched many you tube videos but they all seem to be working a wheel. I don’t have one yet. any advice would be helpful also any advice on a good but not too expensive of a wheel would also be helpful. thank you
You can definitely drift on dirt with RWD, but you may want to try and practice with AWD first. It will be much less prone to spins and give you more acceleration traction to keep your speed up. AWD does not provide more grip generally, but does help with acceleration and will cause the handling balance to move in the direction of understeer. With an adjustable differential you can adjust the torque split front (understeer) to rear (oversteer) to find the right balance for you. After you find a ballance you can drift with now, you can slowly increase the rear bias until it is 100% rear, and then you are drifting a RWD car. You may also find that you like AWD more than you thought once you start biasing it towards the rear. In race cars that start AWD or have grip issues due to high HP and rear tires that aren’t wide enough, I’ll set it up with about 80% rear bias, 90%+/- 10% locked rear differential, and 0%-25% locked front differential. I find it has the advantages of both AWD and RWD. For drift on pavement I’ll still go RWD, but 80% rear can work well for drifting on dirt.
thank you I will try today
