I hope the drivatar issues are going to be fixed in the next update...

The rogue drivatars are almost always from my roster of hired drivers - just noticed tonight that they are no longer in that race the after switching difficulty down and back at the set up screen.
Wish I had noticed sooner, would have saved firing a few level 300+ drivers who seemed to go rogue too often.

The other driver that will almost always go rogue at some point for me is a level 1 - pure AI, tends to fire off the booster rockets right after the starting line and doesn’t forget how to drive perfectly until just before the finish line.

Also amusing watching them take a corner on goliath at 130+ mph in a high profile vehicle, on two wheels - while holding their line perfectly. Meanwhile I have to chose between drifting or bouncing off the nearest object at the same speeds in a much better suited vehicle.

I actually get a lot of rogue drivatars that aren’t anyone on my friends list at all, just totally random names. Really no idea what’s going on with that.

My little “niggle” is the lapped Drivatars that just seem intent on taking you out when they get released from behind the glass wall.

In a 3 lap “Goliath” I can usually get two clean laps in ( Ford Boss 302 or GT) before being taken out big time on the third and that’s racing on PRO :frowning:

i have same problem

Too bad we cant check the telemetry for AI cars.

Third Update, playing in X & S2 mostly :

  • Rogue Drivatars are still there. They just go so quick they almost disappear from the map
  • Godlike Drivatars are still there particularly street races that combines night+rain. They combines godlike speed and godlike brakes despite the water and the no visibility
  • Offroad events are still incredibly hard because drivatar just have no problem going very fast despite very bumpy roads and hills. They are still glued to the ground or sometimes never loose speed when jumping.

This happens whatever difficulty you set (except the lowest one, all above have the same problems)
No matter what difficulty i choose, i always have the same 1 to 2 drivatars glued to my car, getting incredibly fast speed once i go too far from them.

This is really gamebreaking, i’m not enjoying a lot of races because of that.

I’m sorry you’re still having so much trouble with this. With practice and an offroad-worthy vehicle, you should be able to do nearly as well in cross-country as in the other racing. A couple of tips: Let up on the throttle just as you hit a bump or jump–just a split-second. The results on the landing will be greatly beneficial most of the time. Watch those white lines that reach up into the sky. The checkpoint markers are always visible, and there’s only one at any given time. Follow them (and the minimap route) and you won’t get lost, even in the rainy dark. OK, one more: you can restart a race as many times as you like. If you get blindsided by some rock or building you weren’t expecting, now you know it’s there. Do it again.

The “rogues” should just be thrilling competition once you get all this down pat. I always manage to overtake them; and once I do that, they only get ahead again if I make a serious mistake. That’s the way it should be.

Here’s another approach: blueprint your races so that your vehicle is way superior to the AI’s. For example, no qualifying offroad drivatar can touch my Ford Woody on stock rubber, rally springs, AWD drivetrain, and massaged to the top of C class with an engine swap. Absolutely dominates.

Didn’t know about that. Will try, thank you
Though it doesnt change anything about the drivatar skills.

Edit : i just tried your advice, created an offroad championship : couldn’t win the sprint event i tried : i finished 2nd with another 5 cars directly glued to my car while doing a perfect race, top speed, not hitting anything, taking perfect corners, finishing with a crazy 100 000 X 6.0 score. This is crazy. I don’t know if having a very high level hired team (they are level 300 to 800) is directly linked to the difficulty i’m encountering, but believe me, it’s crazy. It’s the same whatever difficulty i choose, magic drivatars going crazy fast.

Just quoting someone i read on another forum, that gives the exact definition of the problem :

“The whole AI system needs major work. Players playing on harder AI settings don’t notice but average players are frustrated by a few Drivatars that are dramatically faster than the rest of the field. Further, there’s obvious rubberbanding, as you can leave the entire pack far behind only to have them magically fly up on your rear. Then they defy the game’s physics, are remarkably heavy and firmly-planted, and their cars change whether they’re high-speed cars or high-grip cars based on whatever they need at any given moment. They can go from having twice your handling to having higher acceleration and speed during the same race. In Forza Motorsport, they had specific performance characteristics, either having more speed than you but poorer cornering ability or vice versa, but whatever they were running is how they performed for the whole race. Their pace was based on difficulty setting and car performance, not like Horizon where they just do whatever is convenient to challenge you.”

First of all, my advice about blueprinting was to create contests where the car that you’ve upgraded and tuned is much superior to anything the AI will select and upgrade. Several vehicles can get over 1000 hp and still remain in C-class with stock rubber (even fattened stock rubber). The '40s Ford and Mercury coupes are prime examples. If you upgrade them to their custom bodykits, then put on stock tires and do an AWD swap (plus make minor tweaks to upgrades, if they still go to B), they will be much stronger than any (same-class, same-car-category) drivatar will ever choose. You can use rally springs even. The only must is stock-compound tires. You can get so far ahead that no rubberbanding will matter. I routinely win standard-length races (3-lap, or one longer path) by 15-30 seconds on average difficulty. In the pre-50s category, the AI always picks the barn-find Ferrari, which doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell to hang with these cars. In the rods & customs category, they’re still way superior.

The Chevy Bel Air with bodykit, with AWD and sport tires dominates in S1 900 against its peers (rods & customs). The AI doesn’t know to upgrade its cars beyond low S1 (like 833). The Meyers Manx is cake to get ahead and stay there in D. I’m having a blast today leaving the cult-classic field in the dust in an AWD BMW Isetta (D500). Lots of possibilities here. Just remember the acceleration and launch numbers should be high–like 8.7 for D, in the 9’s for C, and 10s for S1. In this game, as long as handling is manageable, that’s what matters most without question.

Can someone please name an offroad event they find harder than others?

Ok i did another test just to illustrate how broken the AI is

I just launched an “everything goes” road sprint on X on the lowest difficulty and here is the result

1st : Myself with 2:05:412
2st : Drivatar with 2:05:981
3rd : Drivatar with 2:06:542

So, playing on the lowest difficulty with my dodge horizon, i had 2 crazy drivatars still completely glued to my car. I repeat, it’s the lowest difficulty possible and i was harassed like when i play on pro.
Whatever you do, it’s just a nightmare. On a decent number of events, AI is clearly not right and I’m not enjoying races at all because of that.

As stated above, i don’t know if it’s linked to hired drivatars level but mine are pretty high, respectively 361, 379, 458, 830.

At first, i wondered if i was just driving very poorly, but being always among the top 5 to 15% on Forza Apex weekly events and among first 1% on global promo horizon leaderboard, i really doubt that ; at least it should be enough to prove that i’m not a beginner at all.

These Drivatars are so infuriating, they’re the reason I neglect playing single player each time I log in the game.

One time, I made a blueprint championship on Extreme Track Toys, and their BAC Monos and Aerial Atoms had the grip of a RedBull X1. By the way, this was on the Average difficulty, AVERAGE!

I hope PG addresses this issue, because I don’t remember the Drivatars being this cheeky back in FH2.

Would you kindly tell me the levels of the members of your hired team please ? I’m starting to wonder if it has any impact

My team consists of some of the best known Forza players (I won’t name any). I usually see them at the front in races, and some are levels 100 below or 300+

Drivatars record gameplay of players, and determine how their AI will drive. So following fast players will impact your races.

Then i guess there’s maybe a correlation between these 2, need more feedback to be sure.
My Team is a highly skilled one as well, particularly for 2 members and my game is hard as ****, see bottom page 2.
They really need to start investigating, it’s a complete nightmare on a lot of races.

Yeah i just saw a car going from 8th to 3rd by taking 3 corners at lightspeed lol, not even braking, this is crazy.

Yeah it might be time for PG to remove their fingers off their, ahem, buttocks and ACTUALLY address this issue. I have no difficulties to play on Pro level in FM6, but hell I just can’t beat those buggers in FH3 (even on Expert difficulty).
They’re all driving the same car as me, same PI but somehow they manage to, I don’t know… They seem to be 2 times faster than and all have the grip of a bloody fan-car with maximum grip. It’s not fair. And it’s getting worse by the day (didn’t have that problem last month).
Funniest thing so far ? The fastest aren’t from my team, they’re friends who haven’t played FM since 4… Or at all.

I have had issues with the Drivatars doing physics-breaking things, but I can ALWAYS beat them, even on Unbeatable. Maybe I play too much or something.

My hired drivers are level 300-600.

One of them can challenge me on rivals events.

I still beat their drivatars on unbeatable most of the time. I can sometimes beat the glitched drivatars, someimes not. On unglitched i sometimes come second or lower, either because i have had a bad race or the drivatars have had an incident free race. I expect mixed results on unbeatable though.

A couple of the latest people posting in this thread seem to be running high classes. Drop a class or two, especially cross country. Run A or S1.

I also believe an issue is what people want. Do they expect to win every race? Do they expect to do so easily or do they want to be challenged.? Are they willing to accept a 2nd or 3rd.

Edit: Do people realise progress in ngle player does not need wins. I think it doesnt even need podiums. I think i completed a championship in 4th place and still got a tick.

I don’t know. I play on Average or above average most of the time and I can win races with any car I choose. Most of my cars are completely stock too. On the off road races, I usually have to turn the difficulty down. I do play with all assists except steering though. On one PR danger board jump, I had to turn off braking assist because it was slowing me down right before I hit the ramp. Usually I can’t do much of anything without having the braking turned on. I really haven’t seen any “rogue” drivatars. I like to drive my '53 Corvette that only has the racing camshaft and brakes applied. It still has the 2 speed automatic and it’s top speed is only 115mph with a 0-60 time of 10-11 seconds. I can win road or street races with it. I like driving the slower cars because I can handle them better.

Don’t use the preset divisions in Blueprint. Scroll o the right where you can manually pick the car allowed in the race.

Don’t allow the stupid fast cars for the PI.

Easy.
