Fix the drivatars already...

The drivatars still rubberband and cheat as of newest update. There is always 1 or 2 drivatars every race that have 5000 horsepower no matter the difficulty. Fix it already. How do you keep ignoring this playground?

They’re not “ignoring” it, they just don’t care. It’s fine to put a car pack in the game that’ll make plenty of money, but refuse to fix what’s been broken obviously.

Yea im starting to notice this alot more playing the hot wheel expansion… Kinda sux…

It is a serious killjoy

Yea no… Alot of championships stop you from using the best cars and yes in the best cars it make ot easier to avoid this problem but when you have to literally block the car from passing you when you are driving teally good but the dam drivatar uses nitro it is annoying. I know nitro isnt in the game but it seems like the drivatars have it.
But whatever…

Usually being a better driver makes up for ‘cheating’ drivatars

Oh please do us all a favour and dont act like you are some kind of godly driver. You arent. The issue is not with my driving. The issue is drivatars cheating like mad. They are always able to miss checkpoints land perfectly on jumps and make hard turns without losing speed. When you have drivatars rubberbanding like crazy on the easiest level you know there is a problem

Fire them.

I wonder whether this really works? Like in F1, if you’re scared of a potential teammate, veto them, lol.

I was always under the impression that if the Drivatar was leveled too high, it was much more difficult to compete with vs a “newer” drivatar.

This might actually work but I need further clarification (sorry for thread hijack):

How does this lineup work? I mean, are they always featured in my races? I’m pretty sure they’ll always be part of my grid, but I’m not sure they’ll always perform good in the events.

From the top of my head, all the Drivatars currently in my grid are level 200+, perhaps higher if they have leveled even further. I’m around level 450, myself. Of course, level doesn’t necessarily correlate to skill, but they might be better players due to their playtime anyway.

Git gud and quit whining

While it’s fresh on my mind, something’s been happening with drivatards disappearing and me not having to worry about them being in my way all the time, crashing into me, driving stupidly and just being an overall annoyance. Kinda rarely, I’ll start up the game and as soon as I hear Kiera aggravatingly pleading me to find some random drivatar I’m not gunna add to my lineup, I press the Xbox button, so I don’t have to hear that nonsense. Like I said it’s kind of rare, but today I did what I usually do, ignore her and go on about, I started driving and there were no drivatars. It’s a miracle, but I know if I restart the game the idiot drivatards will be back. Now before some imbecile tells me, I can go to an online private lobby, yes I know that, but I don’t want to do that. I’m not complaining, I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and do they know how to possibly make this happen permanently? Pretty sure, it’s a glitch, but if someone has any other methods, I’d like to know.

The reason they CAN’T fix it, is because it is working just as intended. I have run into this problem myself and found the cause to be the drivatars trying to copy lap times of the person they represent.
Exhibit A) I was racing goliath and kept loosing to this one drivatar on my team. I looked in the rivals section and found that he had posted a godly time on the course, a full minute better than mine. The game tried to temper his performance by having him crash in a few locations every lap, but it was of no use. I eventually fired him and the problem went away.
Exhibit B) I race on unbeatable difficulty and still win easily. Each member of my lineup can and has beaten me in rivals play, attesting to their skill. I have noticed NUMEROUS cases where me and my lineup takes 1st -5th, sometimes another random club member gets in on the fun too and we take up the entire top half of the leaderboard. Just like if they were in the race themselves.

This is actually a good feature because you can hire a couple elite Drivatars then lower the difficulty a bit and have a weaker field with two or three top drivers who always trouble you.

Like many things in this game, it’s up to the player to run the races however they want.

No it is not working “as intended”. It is blatantly cheating with missing checkpoints and always making perfect turns and always landing perfectly on jumps. Plus when you are losing on the easiest level yknow something is wrong. Drivatars have and always will be the worst thing forza has ever done. Wish they would go back to the original ai system from the first 4 games

Yes the AI can force you outside of the checkpoints, while at the same time being immune to missing checkpoints themselves. This I will agree IS cheating.
That said, I seem to have no problem winning on unbeatable difficulty. I’ve been playing racing games for 20 years now and I just learned how to tune this year. I decided to learn how to tune because this games stock tunes are, well… crap. I can tell you that learning how to upgrade and tune properly can be extremely helpful in landing jumps and taking turns perfectly. for more on tuning go here https://forums.forza.net/turn10_postsm698511_HOON-tunes--Updated-OP-and-tuning-tutorial-post--20.aspx#post_698511
The easiest way to get faster however is to use the right car. Go into the rivals section and look at what cars ppl use to get the top times for some ideas. Bear in mind that some times are glitched, eb110, 22B, etc.
The keys for success in any racing game are car selection, upgrades & tuning. In that order.

Also rember jut who trained them so well and all the bad habbits they have. And who is this shoddy trainer you may be thinking well just look in a mirror and you have your answer. I would much prefer the standard AI as they dont have all of our bad habbits like the Drivatars do.

My only comment is, keep practicing. It really helps to know each of the tracks. It is rare that I lose any race against drivatars racing at any of the levels except Unbeatable, and even then I get quite a few wins.
And I am really not all that good.

And, no , drivatars are not the worst thing. Imho, that honor belongs to the interruptions by either the GPS lady and her friend telling me what to do and setting new courses for me, or the blimps on the screen telling me about wheelspins, new recruits, etc. Even so, those are irritants, not major issues.

Tips:

  1. Pick a meta-friendly car. You’ll roast the AI this way.
  2. Use the better upgrades and don’t pay much attention to PI unless you go over the limit. Prioritize power.
  3. GIT GUD

Every car has a class where it’s more competitive. Find this class and build the car for it. Then work on your skills!

Worst part of Drivatards is not their performance, it’s their behavior. In open world they act as if blind, though there are a few who seem to have actual brains and dodge incoming obstacles. During races, they ram, block and brake test a lot, but this is a direct consequence of FH online lacking any sort of penalties, so the AI will do what real players do online, that is, ram you before checkpoints, block you rather than attempt to pass the guy in front, and so on.

Mistakes are not a problem of AI. Do some rallying courses. Mistakes galore there. On tarmac they won’t make many mistakes, because they don’t really have to, on Pro and Unbeatable you’re playing against the top dogs, the type that don’t make many mistakes anyway, even more so if your lineup is high leveled. However, the AI sometimes behaves as if they were aware of everything happening around their cars, at all times, and uses extremely unorthodox strategies not usually employed in racing to try and defeat you. My favorite is what I call the “fake brake test”, that is, you make a move on them while they’re on the outside and they brake really early, fooling you into thinking you won the corner, but when you finally exit the corner you see them getting past you again. The fix is to overtake them on the straights.

Another thing I’ve experienced is that there’s always a couple rabbits among your opponents. If you beat these rabbits often and by a large margin, the game will suggest you to move up a level, all the way to Unbeatable. However, if you keep saying “no” to these requests (because Unbeatable is, frankly, annoying to play on, and not because of the speed of the drivers), I believe the game bumps up the rabbits’ skill so it becomes harder for you to win. There are a lot of adaptive things in this game, like traffic and Drivatard spawning in PR stunt zones, and I’m convinced the game begins to actively try to break your skill chains by manipulating traffic cars and Drivatards once you earn enough points and/or achieve a Drift Tap skill.

Drivatard lineup also influences your grids, as previously mentioned. I once got a Drivatard who was a moving chicane and fired him on the spot. Skilled Drivatards will make your life miserable!

This is why they should give up on the Drivatards and go back to proper AI. The existence of Drivatards does not bring any social improvements to the game, while bringing the worst of online racing to offline mode. It was kinda disappointing to learn this.
