Drivatars blatantly cheating

It’s usually only one or two of them that catch up even when I’m way ahead. I’m driving as fast as I can and have to try and block them to win the race. Does it on the three easiest difficulties. My friend was complaining about it too.

I hope this can be fixed.

yeah I noticed this today as well, seems this bug returned from forza 6

I noticed that everyones drivatars will cut across, whatever and whereever they are to try and beat me. So what I do is beat them at their own game, which is why they drive the way that they do because, they drive like US. They were made to copy US. I raced my drivatar, one day (yes, my own drivatar, while I was on my account too) and it was difficult to beat my own drivatar, to beat ME at my own game. I race on the “unbeatable” opponent difficulty as my main setting, (mainly for more credits and xp).

It seems like the game’s mentality is to have the drivatars attempt to prevent you from winning at all costs, even if that means behavior that defies the laws of physics and convention. In one race I was in (luckly I use rewind for all drivatar races) a drivatar goes airborne to slingshot itself at my car like a bullet, then slamming off a walled corner barricade it ricocheted off the wall to gain position…I’m like what in the world is going on here, some really crazy moves, just to win, and only in Expert mode. In Professional mode using hypercars you have to fly not drive the bloody cars!!! These drivatar antics are making the driving more arcade and not fun at all!!!

I don’t think it’s a bug but a challenge to get players to improve their skill !

Considering what others have added to this discussion, there’s a good chance that these particular drivatars are just inheriting traits from their ‘teachers’, if you will.

A good example: I have a few friends who are quite good with Forzas, this game is no exception, and they’re really the only drivatars I struggle to keep up with/beat. Sometimes it sucks having friends who areally very good at the game.

My point is, this may not he a bug at all, it may be an intentionall design, albeit a poor one.

Maybe but how do you explain the drivatars of people who have never ever played any of the Forza games as is the case with me I have one on my list of friends who has never played any forza game, the fact is it’s a bug it was the same with Foza 6 until they fixed it, if enough people report it as a bug they will have to fix it as they did with Forza 6.

I second this lol I do ise Average difficulty but it still seems as if they are in professional difficulty…

Yeah, it wasn’t a problem in the beginning stages of the game (just like in Forza 6), but there is 1 car which is extremely fast compared to the others (I am driving on average difficulty) and which is impossible to catch if he is in front from the beginning. Even if I don’t make mistakes and my car was faster than the opposition 10 levels ago (they drive the same cars). Even if it is offroad and I drive with Rally components, he is still faster offroad and on tarmac.

I really don’t understand how the bug they fixed in Forza 6 has returned in this game.
I don’t mind having to fight for first place, but this is almost impossible. It depends on how fast he is in the beginning, but once he is in front I can’t catch him. If I am in front (by a mile) he catches up and is 2 seconds faster then I am (even if I don’t make mistakes).

It really is killing my enjoyment for the game, that’s for sure.

edit:
Ok and it gets worse each race, after half a circuit he is 2 corners in front of the rest while I am still making my way through the pack from the start. We drove 5 corners or something in a small track in a loop. This is ridiculous.

Ok, so I lost my first championship because of this. The funiest thing is that my fastest time is faster then his fastest time. This is impossible if you see how much he was in front the first lap. Maybe I should just stop playing until they fix this (again).

I’ve noticed this as well. I’ve also noticed that water on the off road races doesn’t seem to slow them down as much as it slows you down.

Well, I think one of the biggest problems in those offroad-races is, that they are too “extreme”.

If you have simulation damage on, then you’re unlikely to finish the race under 30% damage, if the track has a lot of jumps. That alone will make your races much harder.

Alright, I had my suspicions before but now I’m certain that drivatars cheat.

I was doing the Yarra Valley Rainforest Circuit with my S1 Ford GT HE on expert but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t catch up to one of the drivatars racing the One:1. He was always like 2 seconds per lap faster than me. After I gave up retrying I compared his fastest time to the top Rival times… HE WAS GOING 0.4 SECONDS FASTER THAN THE TOP SPOT!

And on top of that, the drivatar somehow managed to accumulate 46 points after just 2 races. wtf?

Did anyone else have similar experiences? I just don’t wanna drop the difficulty any lower, because then it just gets to easy and I finish miles ahead of the field.

Yes the game is completely scripted unfortunately. Isn’t it a coincidence how the showcase events, you finish 1 second before the plane, boat or whatever even if you retry and have 3 crashes or if you go through perfectly.

They also have 2 drivatars that are always on your tail that you can’t get rid of. I was in a Koenigsegg One:1 and guess who was leading the pack…a Bugatti Veyron lmao. They go round corners like glue as well, they never really brake. Only chance you’ve got on them is the long straights.

Actually, I have failed showcases. The Jeep Helicopter one I actually lost my first couple of tries in the Demo

I’ve always raced on highly skilled but not on Horizon 3, the A.I is ridiculous, I’ve had to drop 2 levels just to stop me getting so frustrated by the fact the top 3 disappear into the distance lucky to be seen again and constantly getting punted off at every turn or blocked, something for me just doesn’t feel right with this game compared to horizon 2

I have seen people lose a showcase event on youtube and one for me was extremely close, because I made a mistake in the final corner (it was less than a second difference for sure).
That said, those jumps where they take you out of control of the car are certainly in place to make it close. I don’t care that much about the showcase events being scripted (but I had the same feeling).

Some of the other races however are ridiculous. Sometimes some guy are a lot faster than you although you have a rally build car on a rally offroad track (I was driving a Rally build GTR against his R8 V10 Plus). I know he has 4WD as well, but after 5 corners in the race he lead the pack by 2 corners. That does seem quite impossible. I came closer in the end, but I could never catch him although I did make no mistakes and my car should be better suited for the job than his.

Also if you lead by a lot, in the end one of the cars is almost always rubber banding (which I hate).

I don’t mind them asking to up the difficulty, but if I tell them to not change it (2 times already) and they still make it impossibly hard because of some cheating car (which wasn’t there the first 10 hours, driving with the same cars), they should not have difficulties which we can set as they don’t use them anyway.

It seems to me that some of the difficulty comes from which level your festival spot is at (which is unfair imo as you already have an other difficulty setting, so they should use that one).

There’s always been a thing with Drivatars that even when the difficulty is set to a certain level, some Drivatars carry characteristics from their users that make them exceptionally fast, often ignoring the difficulty setting altogether. While I’ve been racing on Expert and having little trouble beating them (except when I’m in an uncompetitive car like the Raid Mini - came 12th in that race lol), there’s definitely those one or two cars that keep up much better than the rest of the pack.

Sure, but even then. I was in front by seconds and then the last lap one of the drivatars was right behind me. He was in the same car as me and I didn’t make any big mistake. After the race, I saw his best lap was 2 seconds faster than mine. I don’t mind them being a bit faster, but I don’t see how he could have been 2 seconds faster. I also didn’t see him coming back. I didn’t really look for it of course, but it seemed there was no one and a few seconds later he was right up my tail. It does kill the emersion somewhat and just seems like cheating (I never liked rubber banding in games).

I’m having same things, on FM6 I will quite easilly finish first on Pro difficulty (if I don’t screw up) in a 5 lap race or something, but in FH3 I just can’t for the life of me catch the same exact car as me even though it’s on expert dificulty, so either I suck at FH3 or the drivatars are way too good for their dificulty level. Also I’ve seen on multiple occations drivatars driving way outside the checkpoints without getting punished and then being able to take a better line resulting in them easilly passing me.
So I think something is seriously wrong with the drivatars in FH3, atleast on PC version.

Yeah ive noticed these drivatards doing that too. In the street race I was in an upgraded P1 and somehow a Veyron didnt need to brake at corners where I needed to. Had to go down to Pro. Also most of the time in freeroam they dont move out of the way unlike FH2 where it wasnt so bad.
