How to change the race length?

I was typing exactly the same question at half 3 this morning when I finally found it under the assists menu. Seems like a bit of a strange choice to put it, but hey at least it’s there!

Yes credits and XP scale proportionate to length :slight_smile:

Yes right at the bottom of assists menu the options are Standard, long and extra long :slight_smile:

Thanks! I changed my assists and controller settings to what I’m used to from Forza 6 during the very first intro race with the Porsche in Dubai, so it never occurred to me to go back into that menu. ;D

Thanks guys! Really helpful! With this feature aswell as the whole championship structure is most excellent in my opinion. You no longer have to finish every race in top 3. Makes the driving experience 100% more lifelike in my opinion.

Cannot wait to race more!

Totally agree. It makes the single player the best Forza experience I have had. It is a shame it doesn’t let you choose exact number of laps but I’m delighted by this move.

I’ll do a mixture of race lengths depending on my mood. The longer lengths allow cleaner racing without each race being an overtaking challenge.

So happy it’s finally possible. No longer do I have to do rubbish 3 lap races.

Yes, but more control would be nice. Instead of 3 laps I would like to do 5 or 6 - not 3, 15 or 30.

This was a talked about feature in interviews talking about career mode, plus there’s even an achievement for using it on the Spa endurance showcase, but the big question is… where is it? Am I not looking in the menus hard enough or have to unlock it somewhere? Where is this feature that was supposed to be in the game?

Have “fun” at Spa. Three hours driving that track is a tough one. I fell asleep several times doing it. Sadly it’s all dry sunny weather. Do yourself a favor and enable fuel and tyre wear in the assists, those pit stops will save you from dying from boredom. :slight_smile:

Alright, apparently made a fool of myself and there was already a topic on this, it’s in the Assists menu for some reason.

Yep that would have been nice or keeping with the time system they seem to have gone with 5min, 10min, 20min, 40min, 60min. Would have given us 5 choices that way. Or even a slider that goes up in 5 min steps all the way up to 3 hours or so.

Longer seems like a reasonable compromise, and if you win and you play your mod cards right, you end up receiving 100k +/- per race.

I love Laguna Seca quite a lot but to do 30 laps of it at 3AM… no thanks.

Does increasing the race length affect CR/XP payouts? Just wondering if there are any additional bonuses besides more laps?

So, I saw a video that showed a slider that can set the length of career races, but it was not further explored. And I have not been able to find any other information about it.
As a hypothetical, if a race’s length defaults to four laps, how many laps does the “extra long” option make it?
Also, is this option available for every race, or just select divisions/events/tracks?
