Personally, I would love them if they had the same value they did in last gen (Forza 3+4+H), where for $10 dollars I could buy the 4 most expensive cars in the game, compared to Forza 5 where anything over 500000cr was $5+.
I’ve never bought car tokens but have no problem about their existence.
The main issue would probably be if it was too much of a grind to win the majority of the cars just by playing the game that one would feel compelled to have to buy tokens in order to continue to progress through the game.
They should be somewhere in between and should be a feature that can be totally turned off.
FH2 I believe has it so it can be turned off.
They should not make it possible to buy the most expensive cars in the game for $10 but it should also not cost as much as it did in FM5.
I like the option being there as long as its not in your face if you don’t want it.
Another option is to make the expensive cars be earnable simply based on driver level. That way you play the game your way and eventually get those cars simply by playing.
i personally don’t use them, as I play the crud out of forza games and usually have plenty of credits to purchase all the cars.
however I can understand where turn 10 is coming from by having them In the game for people who don’t have a lot of time to play and want to own some of the more expensive cars in the game.
if someone wants to pay real money to buy a fictional car, then that’s up to them to decide, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the normal way of acquiring cars, playing the game.
If it makes the game more enjoyable for those who buy in, great! So long as they maintain their presence as an option and not a mandate, I am all for them.
I hope they are gone. You’re supposed to work towards those kind of cars. Most other games I’ve played have always had something you had to put time into to earn. There should be no difference here. I think the whole thing is dumb and defeats the purpose of those cars having a high credit value.
My Answer: Pretty much the same way I feel about steering-wheel / pedal setups, giant HD TVs, 3-screen setups (back when that was an option), etc… If any of those things - including Tokens - enhances your enjoyment of the game, to the point where you want to spend that money? I’m all for it.
Waste of money. I did use the free tokens I got but with FM5 it is easy to earn the credits so no reason to buy the tokens. Even in FM4 it was not bad and there was the auction house there were you could pick up a lot of cars cheap. If you signed up for the rewards you get more credits every month so why bother to have the tokens?
i got millions of credits stacking up in fm5 with nothing to spend them on i dont already have telling me tokens are not needed. i dont care if fm6 has them or not, i’m not going to buy them. if others do thats their choice, its not taking anything away from me. as long as you can buy the same thing with credits as tokens i have no problem. its no different than dlc, i have to option to not purchase it. to me tokens would be a waste of money, but if other people choose to waste their money thats up to them. its not like they get to spend my money so it doesn’t effect me.
swerve? really? credits are like driver level, its a matter of how much you play not how good you are. i liked fm1 where you had to beat a certian car/laptime to unlock the next level of cars, you had to earn it with skill not grinding. i dont care if you had a billion credits, if you hadn’t unlocked that skill level yet you couldn’t buy the car even if it was only a 100k car. but as it is now you can use hire driver and get credits without even playing the game, how is that earning anymore than buying tokens?
and in fm,4 my 100k lambo can run circles around my 10 mill ferrari. in fm5 you get a well tuned 2008 viper tuned 2 classes over stock it dominates the much more expensive cars.
Wasn’t implying earning credits was skill related though to a degree rivals bonuses are skill based payouts. The game launched with the idea that certain cars would be unicorns due to price and that it would take a little bit of play to get all of the expensive though not always fast cars. Then with tokens its like yea but if your impatient we’ll fast track the process for you. I just think its silly. If forza is to have some sort of economy, then a singular vision needs to be implemented. FM1 way of doing things sounded cool though.
At the moment the vision is problematic at best. If you can’t be bothered to play the game long enough to earn items the game dictates as special then why play?
I see all these reasonings about people not having enough time due to real life to earn enough credits and I call bull on that one. Im under 30, own a house and have to do upkeep on it, own a new truck and have to do upkeep, work at least 40 hours a week, drive at least 2 hours per day, study for certification examinations at least 20 hours per week, cook many nights, and work out 1 hour per day and have enough time to catch up on shows and get some gaming in almost every day.
Unless you’re a head chief, working extreme hours, or always out of town then there’s really no excuse for not being able (especially in FM5) to be able to buy with credits all cars in the game.
To elaborate on what swerve is saying. I have a full time job 50+ hours a week, gf, kid, house and travel approximately 50% of the year for work. Purchased the game late and am nearly level 1000 and came to xbox 1 about 6 or more late. It isn’t all that hard to earn credits really all you have to do is participate. Do rivals, career, race online in hoppers, or with friends and the credits will come quickly. To date i have earned nothing from painting or tuning as i dont really share tunes and i do not paint. I have not yet earned 1,000,000 from my drivatar yet so hes little to no help. I have around 40 million credits now, purchase any car at will and have a fairly full garage with most of the cars i will use. not sure why tokens are necessary.
