I think you can get the achievements from people simply downloading your pictures, but I could be wrong. I do remember a thread on the old forums that helped people unlock the community achievements.
Seems closer to impossible unless you are either A.) REALLY good, or B.) REALLY lucky.
Or unless you have a bunch of freinds that play alot that would all be willing to use 1 of your designs.
I personally have completely given up on the idea of ever getting the Design or Tune achievements, they made it so that only the best or extremely lucky will ever get it. Not the point of achievements but ok.
and their is a flip side to this as well…i cant remember the last time i didnt have 100 million fredits. this game after buying maybe 30 cars(nothing exotic or race cars) and some tunes i have 8.6 million
yeah i think im a good painter but anyone can be if they decide to put in the effort I/we have. so it def has an effect on both sides of the fence. kind of sounded a bit whiney. and if there was a simple thread etc where the community got together and helped those who need an achievement a lot of people that wouldnt ever get it could. i always thought achievements were there to earn and not so much a right or need
.
I keep on at my friends to adopt my designs, so far my son & daughter have accepted my entreaties & we have a race team theme going. Not sure how many credits they accumulate, but it looks good when racing
it looks like the min payout is for at least 250 uses in 1 day. If you could get your son and daughter to both do 125 races each in one day you MIGHT get the lowest payout.
Fastest way would be to create a private lobby online, do 10 heat drag races with your son and daughter with your design and 12.5 - 10-heat drags later you may achieve victory. (at least step 1)
Alternatively if you could find 8 people willing… get 8 people to use your design/tunes and do 10 heat drags. Thats 80 uses per set of heats. If I had 7-8 friends willing that is what I would do, then you could take turns doing it for each other to all get the achievement for both tune and design.
Of course if T10 just fixes this extremely broken system that wouldn’t be necessary. Achievements are not suppose to be impossible. Sure some can take a lot of time, but this one has nothing to do with amount of time invested.
Thanks for the info. I was trying to figure why, after 2 months of playing this game almost everyday, I have NEVER received a single payout for any design of mine. I didn’t realize how ridiculous the system is for getting payouts for designs. My most popular design has only been used about 110 times…over the course of the last month. So basically the average player who creates a quick design and shares it will like NEVER receive any payout for it…ever. That’s…awesome…
Yeah I just meant for the achievements. There is no point in doing it for money, you can do a freeplay 50 lap on Brickyard and get 250k plus in just over 30m. The hours and hours you will put in to a nice desiign/tune and get nothing is just not worth it. It is however more than 125 uses in 24hrs for the design, I still don’t know what the number is but it is over 140. Tunes were 100 or less, but only around a 5k payout, so 600 maybe for the 30k achievement for tunes.
before you are getting a payout. The uses need to be in a 24 hour period and accumulate over all of your designs/ tunes (so if you get 30 on one design and 95 on another then you’ve made it). The 24 hour period resets at a certain time. I’m in the UK and I’ve found it resets overnight. Hopefully someone else can give you a more specific time than “overnight”.
If you manage 120+ paint uses and/or 50+ tune uses in 24 hours, this will give you a payment. Unfortunately it’s not enough (iirc it’s about 19k) to pop the achievement so you’ll need to get the 120+/ 50+ again during another 24 hour period.
Unfortunately I think Turn 10 have been a bit optimistic in terms of community usage. Either they are expecting 120 people to be downloading the same paint job and using it in the same 24 hour period, or they are expecting a few people to download it and bang out 120+ races between them in 24 hours.
I’d recommend getting online. Hopefully you’ll come across a good lobby with some racers who are happy to run with your design. If you get enough committed drivers you should be able to make it. Other than that it’s a case of crossing your fingers that you make “Turn 10 picks”.
I’ve only had 1 download on my design getting that many will be a struggle. Or should I just make the same design for a multiple of popular cars, that way I should be able to achieve it. Also, I like the sound of the community helping others out i’ll make a forum topic for a design download if you all want?
The whole system sucks. Miss the marketplace so much for finding paint jobs and designs. The acheevos are probably also some of the worst i have ever come across in a game.
Since learning how the new system works I’ve found myself actively taking my own paint jobs off and searching for community sourced replacements. My hope is that my use will contribute to someone else getting past the minimum threshold. Hopefully this attitude will catch on - I reckon this is what Turn 10 were banking on with the new system.
This is only in relation to paint jobs though as I prefer my own tuning setups.
Beyond that I’m actually thinking about pulling my own paint jobs off the community. I’m by no means significant, and my designs are a drop in the ocean of community created content, but I just wonder if there will come a time that these achievements are actually made impossible because of the sheer overpopulation of designs and tunes.
I’ve come to the realization that I’m not going to get the achievement for designs and probably not for tuning either. I know there are those that like to get every achievement for every game, but I stopped thinking like that a while back and have enjoyed playing the games much more.
You can get them by yourself with a second profile on the xbox one pretty easy. You can play any game that is installed for free (silver included) with the xbox one and other profiles. I wont go into details but you can get the designs ,tunes and photo cheevies with a second profile. Just search Google for “How to get design/tuning achievements by yourself” ,should be plenty of guides out there.
And this goes to show how ridiculous the current share system is, why should you have to use a second GT to get some of these achievements because it is so difficult to do it legit?
The search system is to blame just as much as having to have your design downloaded AND used in a set time period, there are still recommended ‘liveried’ cars that have just been wrapped in one of the special paint finishes… and nothing else, not a sniff of artistic talent, logo or even a stripe, yet when you search manually (which a lot of people can’t be bothered to do), you find the good stuff!
Another thing I need to ask, why, when looking through the designs do we now have a static 2D picture instead of being able to look around the whole car like we used to in previous Forzas, how are prospective downloaders supposed to tell how good a design is by seeing just one side of the car?
It seems that you need to place in a competition or just get very lucky to even have a chance of getting a decent amount of downloads and these achievements, the whole system needs a major overhaul, or better still, go back to how we did it on Forza 4, it worked like a charm!
I haven’t even tried to go looking for designs in FM5. I might try and grind these out on a 2nd GT after I finish everything else(if Im even still playing after getting 8 makes to level 25, but that’s another topic.) I dreaded these achievements since I first read the list, but I’ll probably cave in and try and get them in the end.
