Your design(s) need cumulative uses in excess of 100 or so per 24 hour period in order to qualify for professional status and to start receiving credits.
To add to that, once you get professional status you are not guaranteed to remain a professional and receive design payments unless you meet the quota every day. I only say that because I thought once I reached professional status that I would keep getting paid daily, but you don’t. Also the payout has been 15k-16k.
I think this system needs to be tweaked. Its cool in concept but it makes it really difficult for people who are not that great at painting (myself included) to earn anything. Even if its just a couple of credits for a use, i think you should get something. Just my 2 cents.
I agree with this. It’s annoying to have the popup that I have this message every day so that I have to go there and mark it as read for nothing. It’s like, listen, if I didn’t earn anything stop messaging me! I guess they do it to encourage you to tune or paint more. But it’s just annoying.
Yes I totaly agree… I only really paint real world cars for the street… nothing crazy or exotic really… just some cool combinations of what you would find out in the real world, or the racing circuit. and it is upsetting that I go to all the work to share them… and I get messages saying thanks… but FOff really.
I completely agree. In previous versions I made more money from painting then racing, but I still haven’t earned anything from paint in FM5, so I’m not very motivated to paint much more.
Overhauled not tweaked. The only way to get the achievements associated with paint/design earnings is to beg friends to download and spend hours using them.
No the best way is to make a decent design and enter the comps, or be at home when a DLC pack is released and have a design ready to put on one of the cars as soon as they are available.
Yeah, this new system wasn’t thought out too well. But it just makes it look like they did on purpose to make you buy tokens. If only they gave you credits for any amount of uses, even small amounts you might feel like you’re achieving something! lol
I agree. The notification is unbearable because if you ignore it, it will keep popping up every few minutes until you read it. Which is another oddity, unlike every messaging system in existence, sitting on a message does not mark it read. You actually have to click past it.
Anyway, back to the point. Forza 5’s search functionality plus its stringy reward system makes you NOT want to waste your time painting.
Well, for my part, it makes me not want to waste my time sharing my designs. I mean, if my best design only just got to 100 uses and 50+ downloads after about 2 months, and I never get any money from that? Screw it. I’ll admit that the ability to use a USB keyboard with the Xbone did make it easier to type in descriptions, but it’s still time I don’t have to waste.
Further, now that I know what is required to leave “Freelance” status, I can finally stop checking my designs to see if I’ve yet moved from 2 downloads on my P1 design or not…
plus the search dont work very well, my friends tried to search my designs / tunes and they get it after a dozen of search try… they tried by user, by description etc … they (turn10 ) dont want to implement the storefront ( that worked very well ) but they have to improve the search way working better
The whole thing needs an overhaul. Search is broken. Who evere gets their design up first tends to stay near the top(it seems this way anyway). I think they should bring back the gifting system. There can be some collaborative paintwork done. Bring back the weekly, monthly, oldest, newests, most dl, oldest, most likes filters for designs and vinyl groups.
Couple of suggestions for T10 to consider if they do implement any changes.
The game pays 500 per vinyl group download with a low layer count and 2500 with one with a higher layer count. If you get a like you get an additional 500 to 2500 credits based on the vinyl layer count. The same goes for car designs the more layers and likesthe more credits.
The downside of this is, if you have a large FM5 freind base you could exploit this system a bit I guess.
I think one problem is that there just isn’t enough people on Forza 5 right now. It is more limited than it used to be on past Forza’s because a lot of people haven’t purchased an Xbox One yet. I wish they would fix it because I can’t get enough downloads, even though I would say mine are bad. But I had a lot more downloads for stuff in the past because there were a lot more people and it takes a big hit. Getting this achievement won’t be an easy one.
The system is a bit disappointing for sure. I think a payment for each use is something that could be abused but a collective likes total or use total rather than a must be used in 24hr period would seem a little fairer and allow those that paint but are not the well known painters a chance to gain the achieves and maybe earn a little money from them.
I agree that a way to sell was nice in past Forzas but I think they [T10] have already mentioned this is not going to happen and so tweaking the system in some way looks to be the only possibility. As the big painters are only earning 15k ish per day from their works it really doesn’t encourage anyone to spend tens/hundreds of hours painting really as it would be better to race to earn in game cash at that rate. As it stands even if I was a digital Rembrandt I wouldn’t waste time painting.
Thats a bummer, i was hoping it would be a little easier to do this, i only plan on making a design for 2 maybe 3 car’s that i’ll finish. I Tune a lot though, But only share the Actual tunes, not just part install’s. & actually run 10 laps around the track till i’m happy with that tune before i put it up. but with painting, i could use a few tutorials & help. so many make it look so easy, wish i could use a PC To paint. that would be much better & faster. The only cars i’m good at painting are BMW’s & Skyline’s. Other car’s i can’t really nail a nice design people would like. maybe just common color’s & lining. i have no clue how people get the decals they do. or become creative enough to actually perfect every decal. that’s just insane!
you have to put in the work. most of the amazing designs etc are made by people using the editor since Forza 1 or 2. its earned.
i have a car with 5k downloads and 30 k uses and plenty of cars that have 5-10 dl or 35 uses. the worst part is…
5 k dowloads,30k uses and 250 likes. haters? or its just to hard to push A? help me out…its so not fair
