Finally got some credits. Still don’t know what criteria I met to get them. Didn’t take the time to count all mydownloads and usage. Thinking around 100 marketplace needs to be active soon!
Design rewards? I get messages constantly about my designs being used but never have received credit
The market place isn’t for your designs and tunes its for DLC etc.
I can only assume the rewards system was based on the full global distribution of the XBone and widespread sales of FM5. Neither of these things have happened yet.
Given the extinction of the AH and SF I would have thought that a fair replacement would be a reward of cr100 for each use. Not download.
I don’t understand the logic of an in Game Marketplace if it’s for DLC. Isn’t that what the xbox marketplace is for. Adding DLC to the ingame will still route funds the same way as it does now. Seems like wasted time and effor unless they plan to do more with it.
Do me a favor, fire up Forza Motorsport 3, then 4, then Horizon, go to the Marketplace on each, and tell me what you find. The common misconception it seems is “Marketplace” is being confused for “Storefront”, which it is not. It has always been the in-game menu to access DLC stuff.
As for the topic of this thread though, I too was discouraged for a long time with the messages and no pay, but now that the credits are rolling in they seem to do so quite readily. The one thing I would recommend the most is setting up a personal gallery here on the forums, as well as posting your designs in the official Race Livery or Fantasy threads sticky’d at he top of the respective boards. Also be sure to include the car model info, the file name, and which keywords you used when you shared it. People have a much better chance of downloading and using your stuff if they can see it and know how to search for it.
Well, if we have to help out eachother, which isnt a bad thing, will the value of having such ingame title’s and badges unlocked drop? I’m more then willing to help out a few by racing their designs and tunes for some time, If offcourse theyll help me out in much the same way. But I think this will devaluate the Bdages and Titles…
And the 100 uses a day benchmark is really really high. I mean come on, how many people are actually racing with designs. Looking at the drivatars, not more then a few, and online I havent seen that much great designs on cars as well, just simple colours/matte or gold anc chrome. Sometimes even a two tone…
I myself made some decent designs, and with for example 20 download i get hardly 10 likes… so… it will take forever to get just the basic badges and titles unlocked…
Turn 10 needs to change the recommended designs quickly and give beginning artists a chance as well.
I get on average about, 1 like for every 40 dl on on my vinyls haha
I have today received my first ever payout for design uses. It was a fraction short of 15k credits.
I am quite pleased. The achievement arrived at last!!
I must say that it’s just a case of persevering at your designs. Keep on trying and keep on sharing. I didn’t have the help of friends as other topics suggest we all do. I simply made designs [spent god knows how many hours on some of them] and shared and crossed my fingers.
It is VERY disheartening how many people download and never give a like despite the numbers suggesting that the designs are being used quite a lot. Without those likes you never really get a foothold and very few see your designs. I think it’s important to self promote on these forums by creating a paint design topic for yourself and of course enter any competitions you can to get your work viewed.
The system still needs refining, I am not changing my mind on that but today showed that you will get the payout if you keep trying at it
Fix it until its broken. Nobody expects or wants devs to reinvent the wheel with every iteration of a franchise game. What made forza 4 and horizon great for me was the feeling of participation I got from painting, tuning, and wheeling and dealing on the auction house. It didnt feel like a single player experience. Without core features like player store fronts, auction house, and car clubs the game makes me at least feel isolated in a single player experience. I also really miss unicorn car hunting. I realize some of this is due to the game probably being rushed to meet the system launch. Heres hoping that they are working on updates to bring this stuff back. Theres more too like no telemetry in replays. Support for more wheels would be great too.
The most broken part of this is how they give only a few people the “recommended” section. The more downloads someone gets, the more popular they become. Thus, T10 puts them at the front. Nevermind that this makes it nearly impossible for the rest of us to break into the top tier! I have been posting designs for some time now (mostly simple, but elegant), and I now have over 100 uses on one of them. But that took weeks! If I cannot reach anything but Freelance status, then stop with the now-annoying ads that only serve to remind me that this system has been set up to ensure that I will never even be “Amateur,” let alone “Professional.”
This system is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth…
If you can have something ready to pop on a dlc car on the day they come out. I finally popped the achievements when I was home sick and made a paint for new dlc. It seems like there’s about a three hour window to get in. Everything beyond that got just my average amount of downloads. Lol, one was sailing when I noticed I didn’t get some of the top are centered and went back to fix it at about hour five and it reset that paint. From ~40 downloads in the first hour for the broken version and 1 on the fixed one in an entire week.
Ah. Gotcha. So the only real way to break in now is to buy DLC cars. Another ripoff. This game is turning into a real letdown…
Just win a comp! I know it’s easier said than done but half of the Lamborghini LP570-4’s I see are running my Blancpain design. I make a cool 20k every time I sign on. I don’t like the system anywhere near how I liked the storefront but come on guys. I agree it is hard for beginning painters but it makes the badges, title cards and achievements that much more worth it!
Well, I can understand how you are happy with the system, as it works for you. Marie Antoinette was probably pretty happy with her system too, at least until the revolution changed it… The hundreds of thousands of us who are not included in the “Recommended” page are not quite as happy as that, though. For my own part, when I buy a car that I (for whatever reason) I don’t want to design myself, I skip right over the “Recommended” page, and just do an open search. Then I look for a design I like that has 0 stars. Of course, I was doing this for two reasons: 1, to make it less likely that I would race against someone else in the same livery, and 2, because I didn’t know how the rewards worked, and I thought I was helping someone get closer to pay status.
It really sucks that there isn’t even an Amateur status (between Freelance and Professional) that doesn’t require 100 uses a day, but rather only requires that 100 or 500 total uses have accumulated over your designs.
Also, it would be nice if T10 would stop highlighting the folks who already are raking in the downloads and start featuring new artists in the “Recommended” page! Give us a chance, here, folks! Sheesh!
Before you get all high and mighty with Ace let me ask you this. Have you ONCE entered a comp that is posted on this site? NO. Meanwhile the guy you just took apart has…he has his work recommended because he got off his ass and did the work, entered it into a competition, won and got a Turn 10 feature. Do you have a thread here showing off your work? NO. So no one knows of your work let alone T10 knowing of your work. Have you put your work in the supplied “Show off your livery” threads in Fantasy and Race livery? Again…NO. So before you insult all of the people who do have recommendations I suggest you do your homework, look at the facts and if you want a feature then work for it!
I was so thankful when I managed to get a design featured and credits started rolling in as I kept getting the “your design has been used but not enough to earn you monies” message… It just always felt like the below image should have been sent to my inbox:
It should have been set up so that if you didn’t earn any credits, you didn’t get a message as it is a bit of a slap in the face when you spend an ungodly amount of time on a design, yet know that someone who has put a carbon hood on a car is earning credits.
I spend a lot on the forza franchise but I think I’m going to give it up soon. They totally need to listen to the people instead of trying to pinch every cent out of everyone. They took such a great game and not only made it more difficult to enjoy but now you have to be dedicated to the game to receive recognition. I can’t say I’m in favor for how they carry themselves.
