HORRIBLE STUTTERING XBOX ONE

I will just quote some relevant passages from the Code of Conduct:

Have a nice day!

Btw, hard restart doesn’t help. you guys who say you dont get this problem try placing a waypoint and jumping back into the world, this seams to be one of the triggers for the stuttering.

Here’s some more horrible stuttering
Also in this link is a vid showing the muffler glitch on the '15 mustang and another video showing the engine sound glitch. All recorded by me.

http://1drv.ms/ZWWhrN

I place waypoints like you say all the time and have not seen this issue. This looks like one of those issues that affects some and not others.

Some of Mitchy’s advice is sound eg try a hard reboot (my console is set to energy save mode so reboots every night anyway).

If it does not help then time to email the feedback to forzafb@microsoft.com

For the record my setup:

Dashboard Preview
Disc copy
External 1tb with around 30% used and very little used on the internal hdd
Console is on energy save mode

I have seen zero slowdowns like the video and yes I set waypoints and jump back into the world and look around the map a lot.

And yes you are well within your rights to expect it to work with the standard console setup. So I suggest emailing to the fb email address.

Disc version, same problem,no other apps running,in the dash board beta.

I’ve noticed the same stuttering, like its a bad TV signal or something, very annoying.

I spent years working tech support you rude little man. Ive built more PC’s than you played games. So don’t call me a fool. I’ve explained to you why it’s happening. It also happens on Watch Dogs and assasins creed black flag and dead rising 3 to name just 3 games. I was Trying to help and you’re being arrogant and pig headed. If you continue I will report you. I have found a couple of ways to tests this as it happens. I can make it happen repeatedly on my game just for test purposes, but i shall not be using that info to help you further as you clearly don’t deserve it. I am not defending the developers except in cases where people are clearly wrong, or in your case, tunnel visioned.
The xbox one is constantly recording gameplay for the gamedvr and syncing to cloud and any number of things which causes pauses and skips, as it also tries to read and write game data, and save files and stream textures, and load models. Is it the end ofthe world? No. Is it worth insulting other forum members? Well you seem to feel it is, which shows which end of the fool spectrum you’re sitting on.

So your saying the xbox one console is not fit for purpose.

I’m not saying it’s not fit for purpose, i’m saying that it needs improving certainly. I often post on the feedback and bug forums. They should have gone with a 3.5" HDD or a fast 2.5" inch one, but they cheaped out on the drive. I have a 1tb hybrid i’m gonna put in mine as that runs really quick. I’m currently using it as scratch drive for photo/video work. I got it from a competition from Western Digital, and it’s brilliant. So i’m gonna put it in my One at some point and see how it goes.
The One is running 3 separate Os’s all the time, that’s why only about 5GB of Ram is actually usable as 3GB is already taken up running the Os’s. As the system matures they’ll find ways to reduce system overheads, such as with DX12, but it won’t be a massive difference, but will certainly makes things smoother.
But from our side of things, we can do things to make sure the system is running optimally, like Hard reset before a lengthy gaming session, make sure you don’t run any other apps first so only the game is running, and that will reduce the lag. It’s not ideal and we shouldn’t have to mess about like this, but if you know how to make your system run better, why wouldn’t you?
There are some improvements coming down the pipeline for how the Xbox One runs, but they are a while away, so in the meantime we’re just stuck with fiddling to get the best experience we can.

That made a very interesting read but in essence you are saying the x one isn’t fit for purpose.

What I don’t understand is why this is the only game that the system freezes on, it doesn’t do it with Forza 5 or Ryse plus doesn’t the ps4 use the same hard drive? And I’ve never had a issue with that since the day I brought it.

I can see I’m going to have to run an external hard drive but I feel this is very poor of Microsoft if it is indeed a console short fall, but that said it still doesn’t explain why it only happens with horizon 2.

I can certainly understand why Microsoft haven’t even sold half the systems that sony have.

Your gonna compare watch dogs?!?!?? That just proves my point that this game is messed up! Im done engaging you.

Apparently to you its ok for games to run poorly on the console they were made for.

You obviously dont know much of what you speak.

Yeah, im gonna email these guys see if i can get a response.

Im guessing its working for you cuz of that external drive though.

Its really a shame that the xbone cant run this game smooth even while only running 30fps.

Lol, and he saidd he’s gonna report me. Lmfao, for what?!? For speaking the truth. Haa!!! This dude mitchy is raging like a child. And for what though, what is he tryna prove?!?! Smh. Guy makes no sense.

He must be out to make everyone accept what we’re being given regardless of the quality. This guyis tryna opress us gamers!

I understand supporting turn 10 cuz they are a great team. But this problem is unacceptable. Especially in a racing game. For the ENGINE SOUND TO CUT OUT LIKE IT DOES, AND FOR THE GAME TO STUTTER!!!

UNACCEPTABLE!

To be fair these guys are only trying to explain what the problem / problems might be caused by, I don’t have the technical knowledge of these guy’s so I’m keen to read and learn, lude remarks will simply stop more informative members from posting at all, it may be an idea to take on board what is being said and learn from it.

The 2.5 HDD size was a mistake, the console is big enough to put a 3.5 inside there… I know because I’ve opened one of mine up and done it.

The 2.5 drive will work at around 60MBps, a 3.5 will run at around 190MBps which in fact is around the same speed as most SSDs actually run despite their claims of 500MBps…

All my SSDs hit 400MB/s(3.2 Gb/s) to 520MB/s(4.16 Gb/s) transfer rates. They get nowhere near slow 190MB/s speeds. The SSDs in my USB 3.0 enclosures are the slow ones that only get around 400MB/s transfer rates when I tested with multiple PCs. No idea what transfer rates they get with my Xbox Ones. But the game load times are noticeably quicker.

It depends what make you buy but most people buy them when they’re on sale, usually they’re on sale for a reason…

What I’m saying is though, Microsoft should have put a 3.5 drive inside the Xbox One, they are fast enough.

I having the same is issue with stuttering, it’s seems to happen when I get DVR achievment and when I get message about speed traps/roads driven/signs smashed

Disc based game
No external hard drive
No dashboard preview

Wolf, you have to remember the PS4 has access to most of it’s ram which gives it a bigger buffer to move data through. The Xbox One doesn’t have as much leeway, so can stutter at times. It does it on watch dogs when trying to stream and save too, and the same thing on Dead Rising 3. It seems to happen on games where they are saving and streaming data, particularly open world games but even on games like Forza 5. When you finish a race those show off your car screen are designed to hide any stutters or pauses as it’s moving large amounts of data and it’s better than a blank screen. It’s a good solution and works well, but on open world games there’s nowhere to hide, so you see these stutters.
An external drive will certainly make things better but it shouldn’t come to that. Like i said, i’ll be getting my hybrid in the One at some point and see how that makes things run. I’ve seen some good results with comparison tests with different drive types in the One, and the hybrid drives perform almost as well as pure SSD’s, for a fraction of the cost, and much better than stock drives.
It may even be that’s it’s not the drives, and it’s a sync issue with the cloud saves, which would be an issue with people’s connections more than anything and would explain why only certain people are having it. I’m thinking it’s more a combination of factors, as if it was one thing at fault more people would be having these issues. So it’s some convergence of factors causing a headache for Playground Games.
They are working on it, and updated the thread a few days ago, so we know they’re doing something at least.

Cheers Mitchy, can I pm you later when home from work, as I’d like to improve my hard drive situation but wouldn’t know where to look to buy or what to buy, any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, sure, always happy to try and help. It’s pretty easy to get a good external drive.
