Even if they are actually tracking gifts (which seems like a waste of resources if you ask me), I still don’t believe for a second that this is anything other than planned.
I mean, think about it, what are they going to do if we don’t reach the gift target? Not give us the car? If that’s actually the plan then PGG needs a serious lesson in PR and community management. It’d would be yet another prime example of how the devs keep trying to make this game fortnite by taking away or handicapping things that are core to a racing game.
That’s assuming that is the actual plan. If not it’s just a white lie, a strategic deception, and honestly, I can live with that. I’m not thrilled about it, but I also don’t care enough to kick up a stink unlike the former situation.
The former represents fundamental flaws in the leadership and decisions that surrounds this game. The latter is just some cheeky patronizing.

I’m sure PGG would love to have done that. I’m also certain that their remaining contacts in the auto industry likely worked their tailpipes off to ensure that didn’t happen, because they know how that story ends.
Which is why that bar’s going to magically gain a few inches by Christmas.
This just another example that this game only focusgroup is children and maybe new players, bec 1. We all know we are getting the car period. 2 everyone who played season race this week has seen what car it is.
This is getting beyond lame.

There was a limit to how many cars you could gift in a day? If so, I’ve never bumped against it.

It’s a buggy limit. Sometimes I would get an error: “too many gifts, come back tomorrow”. I would go back out and go back in to re-gift and it would work. Lol.
Also, being connected to horizon life makes it work less. I set the game to solo and it starts allowing me to gift more cars (???). In some cases, the gift would error out and I would lose the car completely.
See, the fact that you don’t need to do anything to acquire this (i.e. go into messages and download it) just shows that this was scripted to unlock at a certain time in the playlist. Otherwise they would have to unlock the item which would mean they would need a trigger event such as going into messages and downloading it. I will bet almost anything that the sian will conveniently have enough cars gifted right around christmas.
I would not like to see this way of cars being awarded return whether the meter is realtime or not.
I would prefer to win a themed race like we did for that Cyberpunk car (that was a pretty cool surprise) or just add it to the playlist/Forzathon shop.

The time line has every indication of terminating near or on Christmas day. As many havr said here. We shall see.

Yup, and everyone who’s a veteran Forza player and smart enough to figure out the playlist menus will see the stats of the car and what type of car they’re getting anyways.

That’s when it will be changed to “End Of Year Tree” or “Seasonal Tree”.
