Two days away from december and they have yet to announce any sort of new content coming out for december. They better be cooking up something good to save this for the holiday season and boxing day sales otherwise its game over.
There is a track coming. Just havent told us yet. I was actually thinking about this last night. Could it be a licensing reason they cant say anything yet? If thats the case…dare i say Tsukuba? Its been gone and in other hands since one of the early motorsport games. Would like to see that return. Or even a revamp of motorsport 2 test tracks and i believe the proving grounds in motorsport 3.
Maybe they are listening and they really are working in the game??
Only with that, the game have a great improvement!
-Upgrading must to be quicker.
-Creating and sharing our own championships.
Rest is polish the bugs and add tracks and cars.
Boxing day has already happened.
Im all for the upgrade system being quicker…but im also one that thinks that they should sort of revert the requirements for parts back to how it was before. Sure it allows me to put parts on earlier but within the CP allotted. Thats fine.
As rare as they come…I am one that likes the level system. I dont think its perfect though. I believe they should tweak the segment score bonuses. Adding in awesome and ultimate/perfect segments.
My idea of segment bonuses
-segment completed 10xp
-good segment 25xp
-great segment 50xp
-awesome segment 75xp
-ultimate/perfect segment 100xp
I think by just adding the extra bonuses in and lowering the good and great score requirements would make the leveling process significantly faster without killing the idea of leveling cars.
Or they could do happy hour sort of deal. Allowing for us to set a specific time where we could earn 2x cxp for an hour each day. Then you could set it when you would be available to play most of the time. Allow it to be changed but not after its been used for the day.
I couldn’t care less about new content at the moment to be honest, I want the game to actually work and be bug free, they can add stuff to it after that. They’ve yet to announce any more fixes either
*Though yes, it definately needs more content, I just think it needs to work first.
The Nordschleife is coming in Spring 2024.
What that time line means is anybody’s guess (it could be as late as April, May, 2024)?
If they really want to have a No Man’s Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 redemption arc, T10 is going to have to drop HUGE patches that fix every single bug in the game and add tons of content that was scheduled for much later. Basically, relaunch the game in Spring 2024… Forza Motorsport 2.0… And hope people give them another chance.
The game is dying.
This isn’t hyperbole, or exaggeration.
All available metrics point to player counts dropping every single day and we all know why (bugs & pointless grind system).
The reason I’m worried about Tsukuba is the pitlane spaces. Are there even 24 spots in there? Everybody ghosted the whole way thru and onto the track for 5 additional seconds? Same with Fujimi, has there ever even been a pitlane there? Technically the Nordschleife has the same problem (unless connected to the Nurburgring).
Ive not really noticed much issues with the pits. I dont mind if there isnt 24 spots. We already dont have a drivable pit lane. So ghosting wouldnt bother me. But i do think that there should be control after the pit exit line. Allow for me to accelerate out of the pits and ghost me for 5-7.5 seconds to rejoin the race traffic safely. Since the game has a safety rating. They for sure dont make it safe for race traffic with the current pit exits. With the same thing said though. Just because a car is a lap down means they should move out of the way. A lot of pit exits end at a turn or slightly before a turn. Why should that car who isnt doing anything wrong have to pull off in the grass and let people by when they could take the corner then move out of the racing line or pull away from the lead cars making up the time gap? If im the lead car on track and theres a car coming out of the pits right into a corner. That should be noted in my head to take a slightly slower pace to avoid a collision. If everyone wants a clean race. You have to race the person in front of you. Not the guys 2 or more spots ahead. If they slow down. Slow down with them. Avoid the collisions or possible wreck.
Bernese Alps.
A short message mentioning what the focus of the coming update would be nice! And I would really like to know what the coming circuit is.
Communication is lacking at the moment…
Wouldn’t be surprised if they wait until December to announce more.
I find the game stable but would really like improvements to the blind AI.
To quote Gabe Newell’s recent comments in the 25th anniversary documentary, “Late is just for a little while. Suck is forever.”
This game needed another year in the oven, minimum.
There will surely be Forza Monthly next week, because current FH5 Series is also coming to the end…
Hopefully we’ll at least get a lot of fixes and Bathurst or some other iconic track…
But…
It’s 2023. T10…
So…
This is something that has been a thing in Forza games (both Horizon, and Motorsport) since FM5, when they introduced the so-called Drivatars. I don’t think T10 sees it as a problem, unfortunately, and I know for a fact Playground Games, doesn’t see the horrendous AI in FH5 as needing any fixes, either.
Playground Games announced on this very forum, it’s one of the issues they are not going to fix even after thousands of complaints of it blatantly cheating because “It’s working as intended”.
What is worse is there’s a 300+ page thread that highlights how badly the AI cheats in the game since FH5’s, launch two years ago.
It’s full of leader board screen shots, videos and player anecdotes, but PGG just flat out refuses to fix it because they’re lazy, to be blunt. That, or it’s baked so deep into the game code, they can’t fix it without rewriting the whole game.
This is why I don’t think the Forza series will ever have decent AI which is just embarrassing in 2023, when games decades older do it better, let alone modern games like Autombalista 2, and GT7, make it a point to continually improve their AI, for the single player experience.
I watched the documentary. Valve follows the famous Shigeru Miyamoto, philosophy (quote) as well which I’m sure isn’t a coincidence since Gabe, modeled Valve, after Nintendo in a lot of ways e.g. Doing their own thing, but making sure what they do is quality.
From my perspective, the next stream is the last chance for them to show that they are serious about this game. If it simply announces a few minor bug fixes, a new track and then runs through the new cars, then that won’t be anywhere near good enough.
I doubt it’s possible to put right all that’s wrong with the game in short order. However, the stream needs to be a serious attempt by them to communicate their ongoing plans and how they see the game improving. That means (i) addressing the car points issue immediately; (ii) setting out some plans for improving MP and (iii) explaining whether they intend to add any single player content in the “career” beyond the timed championship events.
It’s particularly worse in this game compared to the other Forza games (I’ve played all except 5). Unfortunately it’s not restricted to Forza games. Plenty of other racing games have similar problems just surprised how bad this one is.
As for FH5 I actually liked the AI. Felt more human rather than all in and blind or suicidal which are the only two options in FM8.
The problem with FH5, AI is they just go too fast.
They don’t operate on the same level of physics the player does. They cheat. Blatantly. So, there is no point in racing them because it’s never a fair race from the get go.
All of this has been discussed ad infinitum, but the problem with the FM AI is they can’t even make it around a track without brake checking on straights, or running you off the track if you dare and take their driving line. It’s truly the worst AI in the history of the entire series, and that was already a low bar to begin with. Oy vey!
Don’t find FH5 AI hard to beat most of the time. They do have supernatural ability to know there the tracks go though.
FM AI has brake checked for no reason in previous versions but this time it’s really stupid. Often find that they’ll over react if you get close in Dundee situations and turn 90 degrees straight into a wall.
Part of the brake check issue on straights is the driving line. It’s bugged. Random red sections along straights which the AI the react to leading to the inevitable.
These things should have been caught in testing.
please dont toy with my heart, if Tsukuba or Fujimi ever got added id be very happy
