HELP! Unable to purchase DLC for free in sons account

Hi guys

I purchased ultimate edition and was able to redeem all the DLC, however, when my son uses his account that is on the same console he can see all the DLC cars listed but they are not free to purchase.

Each of the DLC cars has a credit to purchase, but all DLC in my account is free.

Should these not all be free for any family profile attached to my account?

We’ve tried access8ng the DLC cars via different menu options but it all remains that you need credits to buy each one, they are not free.

My son is now upset that he can’t use all the extra cool cars.

Would appreciate any assistance.

The free one time purchase is… well… one time. So maybe it registers it through all the accounts? That wouldn’t make sense tho since it can also be purchased by credits which can’t be linked to different accounts.

Maybe try
•a hard reset if you haven’t already
•check his accounts permissions through the settings (I think there’s 3 or 4 settings from restricted to unrestricted, and the restricted one denies certain sharing abilities I believe)
•making sure its downloaded onto his profile as well
•uninstalling the car pass and installing it back in

Sorry but its locked to the purchase account yes he can use them but have to buy with in game credit.

I don’t think secondary accounts on your home console can have the cars for free. I might be wrong though.

Also, there’s only 2 cars released right now, the next 2 (Sentry and RX-7) will be available on the 5th. Then the next 2 the following week and so on.

Hi all, for me it works, all DLC cars I have bought for free, the same for another 2 accounts of my sons. My accounts is set as HOME CONSOLE. It works also for FH3 and FH2.

It must be set as the purchasing accounts home console for it to work with other accounts

Just to confirm you can both have the DLC for free, My son and I do, The Xbox he uses is set to Home console, while the other Xbox I use I log in as a guest.

Just to confirm:

I have 1 Xbox One S console

I have one Xbox account
My son has one Xbox account

My son uses his own account to login and play FH4, DLC cars are listed but NOT free to purchase.

When I login using my own account and play FH4, all DLC cars are listed and are free to purchase.

The Xbox One S console is NOT set to Home console. Not even sure how to set this up or what it’s purpose is.

Goto to xbox settings - console - home xbox - confirm

Think thats where itbis, just accept that and your sons account should have access to all purchased games and dlc

I’ll update my settings to home console and sss how I go.

What if my son ends up having his own console, will that mean the second console should be set to home and my original console will no longer display the dlc?

You need to log into his console with your ganertag and set that as home xbox, and he needs to log into your xbox with his account and set that as home xbox, then your set what eber you buy shows on his and what ever he buys shows on yours

It worked!!

After setting it to home console all the dlc is showing as free!

Can’t thank you guys enough, my son is over the moon.

So if we end up having 2 consoles do I leave the original one set as home console or do I need to remove it and set the new one as home console? Or can I do both?
