Has anyone noticed there is no grinding sound when shifting without pressing in the clutch?

I have noticed before that when you set the transmission mod to Manual W/Clutch in FH5, and when change gear without pressing in the clutch, there is no grinding sound.
The grinding sound exists in FH4 and prior titles, but not in FH5.

Is that something that stopped working, or did it never work in FH5?

Also, did you check a few different cars?

As someone who drives with no aids/max difficulty, I would def miss that sound!

I did check different cars but it came with the same result, and I don’t think it ever worked either.

Thanks for the info. Maybe log it as a bug?

Maybe

I’m pretty positive there was never a grinding sound effect for bad shifts. Forza, while known for many things, isn’t known for attention to detail on a meso to micro scale.

They did in FH4, I’m pretty sure about that.
And the grunts found on hatchbacks when you do a good shift.

Are you sure you’re not thinking of the DSG shifting noise?

Actually, I take it back. Apparently, there was a grinding sound effect, but it was only available in the cockpit. I was thinking of something more loud like the grinding sound effect in Need for Speed: Prostreet. I guess we can chalk it up to being missing in Horizon 5 like flappy paddles actually being animated.

Can confirm it’s there in FH4, though as reported, only in the cockpit view (as that’s the only position I drive from, I never realised it was absent when using the exterior views).

A real shame it’s missing in FH5, as aside from the extra detail/immersion, it provides some pretty useful feedback.
