Got Ultimate version but my son can't use the packs

I bought the ultimate version and enjoyed early release of this game. I got all cars promised from all the packs and vip etc.
My son was also able to play early release on his profile as we share same console. But, my son cannot access any of the cars that were granted with packs. I thought he may have to buy the vip, car pass, fast n furious etc for his own gamertag. So we went to option to purchase them, but it already says all packs, vip, car pass etc are already installed. He also didn’t receive the 2017 ford gt after completing the demo. Why can my son not access the cars or even buy the packs etc. If his game says all these are installed as we share the same console, why can he not get access to them. Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

You’ll need to go into your account settings and declare “this is not my home Xbox” and delete the VIP DLC from your system memory (don’t worry, XBox servers will remember you bought it for yourself), buy the VIP DLC for your son, then sign on to your account and state “this is my home Xbox”. If your significant other / other children / frequently visiting friends want the VIP pack as well, remember everyone with the VIP pack needs to state “this is not my home Xbox” and delete from system memory before they can add VIP DLC. You only have a set number of times to claim your home Xbox each year; again, don’t worry, the folks at Xbox support know about this issue and can reset your gamertag if you find yourself unable to rejoin.

Assuming you have Xbox Gold, you DON’T need to buy another car pass for your son unless he insists on receiving the cars in the garage as DLCs released. If he’s okay with paying for cars with credits, cars should be available for everyone using your console - he can piggyback off your purchase.

If he’s looking for the 10th year anniversary cars, those are available only to the license holder (you). You could buy a second copy of the game and sell it at GameStop for about half price; I’ve also seen the 10th Anniversary DLC codes on eBay for $15 (caveat emptor!)

Regarding the 2017 Ford GT: It’s probably just hiding in another part of the Forza menu. Im getting the same problem. I purchased the Ultimate edition, so I get the cars for free. But on my sons account when he goes to buy a car from the Fast n Furious pack it has DLC next to it so he cant buy it with ingame credits. It just brings up the buy pack option which I dont really want to do.
In Forza 5 and Horizon 2 we had no problems with the car packs, one had them for free and the other bought with ingame credits.

I deleted the Fast n Furious content, hard reset the Xbox but still no joy.

Update…bizarre. Its now working OK. So I deleted Fast n Furious pack, hard reset the Xbox. Re installed the pack and loaded it up. My son can now buy the cars. One happy bunny!!

Thank you for your advice. Seems to be fine now.
I logged into my account and changed to “Not My Home”. Logged out, logged into my sons and directed to purchase a ViP Pass for him. It let me purchase it. I then logged out of his and back into mine, changed setting back to “This Is My Home”. Logged back into my sons, which now has ViP status, the free card that came with it and access to what he now needs.
