Every Race Car Starts with 2 1st gear. very annoying, even on Rivals

Yeh I have to do first gear twice at the beginning of races. I thought it was me for the first one or two until I looked online and seen all the complaints.

Yeah, you have to press the button twice to change gear or the car will go into reverse. Very randomly.
it doesnāt do it with an automatic transmission. this error bothers me a lot.

It takes me 2 or 3 taps on my controller to shift gears itās really annoying in racing and the starting in reverse has only affected my free roam.

I think the best part is when they finally do fix this weāll all be shifting from 1st to 3rd because jow were used to double tapping shift out of first

Performance mode.
Ruined a trial run by starting race in R. Two taps to get back to 1st.
Also starting in R when exiting house, fast traveling to a location and travelling to RA or HW

Before update 20 when you guys updated the game for the new oval track at the stadium, it put a bug into the game that gives cars an extra first gear in races. Then when the update 20 came out today, races start your car in reverse if youāre using manual or manual w/clutch. Also, when you leave the garage, it puts your car in reverse. Why is this a bug all of a sudden? This has never happened before.

Series X. Car randomly starting in reverse in freeroam and races.

I have this issue too.
On Series X, starts in free roam in reverse when using manual, regardless of car. Only happens when using performance mode. Quality Mode is fine. Same issue on PC but regardless of quality settings.
Have to shift up twice to get out of whatever gear Iām in when spawning, both in free roam and races. Regardless of car, graphics mode, and platform.

Had the ādouble 1st gearā bug for the first time in the Corvette event. Which made me think about if it has to do with engine upgrades? Basically all my tunes have at least some except for the Corvette tune I made for the event and thatās when I got the bug for the first time. Could be coincidence though.
/edit: Ok, forget it. Happened with a tuned Audi S1 also. First day this is happening for me. Thatās not something one can miss and Iād definitely noticed if it had happend before. Strangeā¦

Iāve been blaming my Clubsport shifter shifter all this time. I suppose I owe it an apology. I get plenty of misshifts during races too, sometimes going into reverse mid corner and ending up in the ditch. The rewind button is a necessity.

Just start in any event and it seems to do it, even when exiting the festival or houses can end up getting the car to start in reverse. Hope to see a fix soon. Platform: Windows 10 & Xbox Series X

No, it isnāt and I actually just found out why I didnāt came across it before. It is NOT happening in Horizon Tours which Iām basically exclusively driving except for weekly the stuff. The R bug is in there but not the double 1st gear one. Iāve just checked it and jumped into a tour. No 2x 1st in there.
I donāt know whatās going on here and why a Tour is any different but itās like I said at least for me. Iām sure!

I had the Reverse shift in todayās Trial - not in the first race, that was fine (donāt recall if double first shoft, sorry), but it went into reverse at the start of the second race!! Oh the shame.
