As the title says, since the new update my cars will change up a gear by itself while in both manual with clutch which is my normal setting, as well as manual. It happensd with the weekly car and trial car (chevy 150, c class). Resetting the transmission type, changing cars and restarting the game did nothing. It doesn’t happen with every gear, probably every third gear. It doesnt just happen when hitting the rev limiter. It doesnt do downshifts by itself, just upshifts

Thank god someone else is talking about this. I thought I was going crazy at first when I logged in yesterday and it was shifting gears randomly while I am clearly in manual/manual with clutch. I got on when the new update first came out on thursday and had no problems but for some reason when I got on most recently it started randomly changing gears. It isn’t even a helpful sort of changing gears it just randonly does it when decelerating mostly. I found that the more I played the more often it did it in a about an hour of playing and trying to troubleshoot. I haven’t got a clue what it causing it but it makes the game basically unplayable with manual settings because it will just straight up sabotage you mid corner going from 5th to 3rd on a sweeper where you just slightly get off throttle. Hopefully they sort this out soon.
Seems to have started over this last update, also controller, happens intermittently, most noticeably after races or teleports. Username SubZeroJeep if PG can go through input logs vs outputs.
Not sure if this is a Xbox Series X/S issue only or if it’s on both Xbox One, X/S & PC. (I play Series X). Whenever I load on the game, sometimes it will disconnect me around 30 seconds to a minute later, and will attempt to put me in a Horizon Open session. While this is going on, my car will randomly shift down regardless if I’m playing on automatic or manual. It only seems to happen whenever it thinks it’s connecting to a session but then disconnects. Causing it to shift it down a gear like automatic. This goes on for about 2 minutes, then it gives up. Starts to happen again if I try to connect to a session.
Im having problems in manual settings with controller and wheel it auto shifts. It will sense me reving high rpms and upshift or when im bogging out it will downshift
This has now started happening to me today. I’m set to manual w/ clutch and the car has started shifting up and down on its own. It’s not perfect, sometimes it lets me bounce off the limiter for a bit before shifting, but it seems to be generally “intentional”, i.e. going the right way for the rev range, rather than random.
Very annoying because I’m trying to do the gears myself and this results in double shifts or shifts at times where I’d prefer not to.
Been playing this game since its release in 2021, never had that bug happen to me prior to today.
Game just started doing it, rendering it unplayable. Im on PC with bluetooth remote. 2024/05/09
What if we fixed the transmission/clutch bugs?? Before you add more content, could someone please fix the game we already have?! If I set my shift option to manual with clutch in the difficulty menu to manual w/clutch, then it should stay in the gear I manually put the transmission in. Instead the game is constantly shifting me into a different gear. Also please fix the issue with the game forgetting sim input layout profiles. One minute I’m driving around , my clutch works as it’s supposed to, and the next minute, I might as well not even have a clutch pedal, because the game forgot my wheel profile I put mapping layout
Happens every time the game goes blank during a convoy or online session, probably a server issue, and the car randomly shifting itself. Seriously strange issue that’s been persistent all this time.
Now that PG finally fixed the non-existent traffic AI cars in Street Races after only 2.5+ years there is still hope that similar bugs like this one here also will be fixed.
I mean it just completely destroyed the character of Street Races since game release but hej what do I know.
This issue here is now amplified by FH5 server problems connecting / disconnecting all the time at the moment.
I noticed that when the unintentional shift happens I can’t rewind past that point.
Seems to me like the game loses track of the state of your car for a moment and therefore shifts into a gear it deems right for your current speed.
Tried replicating the issue and it seems to be occurring more often after loading a new map (e.g. Main → HotWheels).
Might be an issue with the car state not getting updated correctly and the game putting the car back in a “sinsible” state.
Would love to see this fixed, as it can be very frustrating when rallying or drifting to be in the wrong gear all of a sudden
Same as here. This has been going on for a very long time, why is there no fix?
This rarely happens to me, but when it does, the problem is so disruptive to driving that I don’t continue the game.
I don’t know, could it be that I’ve been enjoying Forza for too long and it’s time to stop and delete the game from the console (xboxx).
