As the title says, since the new update my cars will change up a gear by itself while in both manual with clutch which is my normal setting, as well as manual. It happensd with the weekly car and trial car (chevy 150, c class). Resetting the transmission type, changing cars and restarting the game did nothing. It doesn’t happen with every gear, probably every third gear. It doesnt just happen when hitting the rev limiter. It doesnt do downshifts by itself, just upshifts

Thank god someone else is talking about this. I thought I was going crazy at first when I logged in yesterday and it was shifting gears randomly while I am clearly in manual/manual with clutch. I got on when the new update first came out on thursday and had no problems but for some reason when I got on most recently it started randomly changing gears. It isn’t even a helpful sort of changing gears it just randonly does it when decelerating mostly. I found that the more I played the more often it did it in a about an hour of playing and trying to troubleshoot. I haven’t got a clue what it causing it but it makes the game basically unplayable with manual settings because it will just straight up sabotage you mid corner going from 5th to 3rd on a sweeper where you just slightly get off throttle. Hopefully they sort this out soon.
Seems to have started over this last update, also controller, happens intermittently, most noticeably after races or teleports. Username SubZeroJeep if PG can go through input logs vs outputs.
Not sure if this is a Xbox Series X/S issue only or if it’s on both Xbox One, X/S & PC. (I play Series X). Whenever I load on the game, sometimes it will disconnect me around 30 seconds to a minute later, and will attempt to put me in a Horizon Open session. While this is going on, my car will randomly shift down regardless if I’m playing on automatic or manual. It only seems to happen whenever it thinks it’s connecting to a session but then disconnects. Causing it to shift it down a gear like automatic. This goes on for about 2 minutes, then it gives up. Starts to happen again if I try to connect to a session.
I’m sure a lot of people have said something but random downshifts have been happening more and more for me and a lot of my friends while drifting and cruising it’ll all of a sudden go from say 5 to 1 and then when you try and rewind it will only rewind you about 10ft. I’ve tried restarting uninstalling and reinstalling the game resetting wifi and nothings changed the games also been slowing down mid drift and then speeding back up while drifting too. You’d think with this game being out for so long they’d fix this but since this has been a big for almost six to eight months now.
I have noticed this happen during online server refresh or sometime when the game switches itself from horizon life to solo due to connection issues.
There are many times I would doubt myself when cruising whether I shifted early or not.
This issue and the controller randomly disconnecting are seriously game-breaking and annoying. The game was much more polished before IMO.
I have the same problem, I haven’t been able to solve it for 4 months, I reinstalled the game, even changed computer components, and the whole problem is horizon life and solo
I have noticed it happens more often in online free roaming with other players as opposed to solo as well so it’s probably related to this though the online severs
I’ve had this issue before, but I’m really convinced it’s actually caused by Steam Input if you have that running in the background. No idea why, but it will continue to manipulate non-steam games if the steam us actually running. I’ve been able to disable for specific games to their own domain, but randomly decides to turn on without notice. Small chance when restarting.
Im having problems in manual settings with controller and wheel it auto shifts. It will sense me reving high rpms and upshift or when im bogging out it will downshift
This has now started happening to me today. I’m set to manual w/ clutch and the car has started shifting up and down on its own. It’s not perfect, sometimes it lets me bounce off the limiter for a bit before shifting, but it seems to be generally “intentional”, i.e. going the right way for the rev range, rather than random.
Very annoying because I’m trying to do the gears myself and this results in double shifts or shifts at times where I’d prefer not to.
Been playing this game since its release in 2021, never had that bug happen to me prior to today.
Game just started doing it, rendering it unplayable. Im on PC with bluetooth remote. 2024/05/09
