Forza Open Road Racing is Terrible

And the amount of tire smoke is ridiculous. Not only are there chokepoints, but you can’t even see half the time. I never race S2 for this reason alone.

So I got pushed into wall but I got wallriding penalty.
(If the other driver are not near you or touching you when you hit a wall. The game don’t know you are being rammed by someone)

A simple side by side Give someone space and the result is I dead. Nice collision physics

Before crash I am 180km/h. And the driver behind me is able to push me into 236km/h. So it mean he has over 50km/h speed difference so where is the ghosting?
And my brake and steering dont work how can I react?

All happened in same day

In project cars 3 someone crash into others it often is the player from behind bounce away. Front player don’t move

The circuit races need to be at least 5 laps. 3 only encourages bad driving.

The ramming is a real problem but I find myself playing Open Racing in this game more than I played ranked in fh4. I only played it in 4 for the monthly requirement but in 5 I’m doing it for fun.

I couldn’t give you a reason as to why. Maybe the best players from ranked aren’t playing this mode so it’s a bit easier to win?

I don’t know if this makes a difference but I’ve pretty much given up on Road events, I’ll only race Dirt/Cross Country.

I think people are a little more forgiving of contact in those races given the rallycross style racing, the tracks still have chokepoints at times (less so on CC) but they do seem more open and allow better racing. I still encounter griefers but much less so than in a Circuit/Street event.

Ramming is only a problem if you lack the skill and know how to take the lead and keep it, aka winning. In which case it’s a huggeee problem because no one trusts anyone so everyone will ram anyone. I personally find it funny but I didn’t realize till recently quite how bad it is for y’all. I switched cars to something slow and basic and did a few online races and I was being rammed left right and center. I then switched cars in a later race and taught all those people a lesson lol but yeah it’s very bad ATM.

Basically “meta” or “strong” car in this game have bigger “ramming power”. Because most of them has bigger downforce(wing) or grip.
So if anyone driving non-meta thing. It would be painful to play.

For example SVJ S1 standard wing and tire are gonna rammed by Ford GT non-stop and no way to fight back.
(But if you put wing and slick on it is going to slow anyway.)

And you hardly keep the lead if people keep driving into you in braking zone.
People with slower/weaker car have to drive in defence line to fight fast car.
But often people dont respect “your defence game” and dive into you. They dont play a racing game like a actual racing.

Out-in-out > They slip into inner and push you to wall/off checkpoint.
Drive Inside lane > Micro Dive bomb

This isn’t a hardcore racing sim game. If you want that, you can go to Forza Motorsport.

There’s a distinct difference between purposefully disrupting another players driving, and just accidental corner contact which you can clearly tell the difference.

There should either be present a “vote to kick” system or these players should be heavily punished maybe through the points system during the 3 events.

I consider myself an experienced player and I have no intent whatsoever in queueing for any open based matchmaking in the game. Why? Because if at any time I want to have stress free runs I HAVE to run meta or semi-meta. If I don’t I’ll either be in a state of cruising at the back OR I’ll be bashed around near the front because my power to weight ratio or innate grip is not as exploited through the PI system as other builds are running.

There has to be two innate options for online racing. An open anything goes for the beginner who doesn’t care for coming first, and a separate system for experienced players (either non collision racing) or CA has to return.

CA offered the experienced guys a way to regularly race each other in a sort of niche based area without the chaos of a generic open system.

It isnt softcore need for speed either.

I also dont understand your logic. why it have to be “hardcore”
It is very basic thing in racing. It isnt any hardcore at all.

The driving physic is there in the game right now. position / braking /tactic.
It wasted by not actual playing it. instead use it to play bumper car

It just sad to see people non-stop dive other into wall and use “this is not hardcore racing sim” as excuse

If people can’t win by racing cleanly, they will do it by ramming. That’s just one of the basic facts of the genre. The point of this game is not to race exactly like real life. You say that it is a very basic thing in racing. The most basic thing in racing is to go faster than your opponents, and rammers take a different approach to this. Keep in mind that rammers risk slowing themselves down by crashing into you. I still think ramming is a problem, I’m not making excuses for them. I’m just saying that to accuse them of not playing the game properly doesn’t make sense.

Wow

So you dont know crash people from behind in braking zone is not actually “slowing themself” or “having risk” ?
What the hell you are talking about?

You earn extra short braking by dive into people in a control way and also keep your own grip.
The other player getting crashed into lost all grip and handling.

Okay, I was mistaken about the crashing on corners. I had forgotten that that specifically was what you were talking about in the first place. My other points still stand, though.

Nothing will prevent someone to hit the AI to hit you.
You can see this also in freeraom where people use other cars/props to get to you.

They should provide two types of races:

  • The first one as it is now.

  • A second, new one with full ghosting enabled during the whole race.

By this everyone can decide for herself what race to drive.

The solution is to do all the A class races in the Tankpool FE and destroy anyone who touches you lol

They had ghost racing in H3 and H4, and I hope it comes to H5. I feel like it will not this time though. It was never very populated.

You oversimplified a sport/game.

You are saying things like “football is about kicking the ball score a goal so I can fking kick opponent player in the head.”
You have to realize many game/sport need both party co-op in a way to play.

This is a early race when 2people “respect the racing-position-tactic game” and trying to play like a racing game

This is your normal bumping car game and they call it “Open RACING™”

Is it hard to see which one is better/proper way to play this game?

Unlike Need for speed hot pursuit.
Hozion isnt fun and great as arcady-boosting-crashing-car-game too.
This is the reason I dont understand why everyone have to take horizon to play bumper car.

The first race looks like people just driving really slowly… of course you aren’t going to bump driving that slow. You seem to be trying to take all of the corners through the middle of the checkpoints, and that isn’t very fast. You are supposed to slide into the edges of the checkpoints. Now with sliding there is a higher risk of bumping… but that is at least trying to be fast.

In early day before people bring meta into the game.
Everyone is kinda driving a very similar stats cars.

It basically become situation as having regulation in many racing game. Near one-make-race.
Many crash in open racing are cause by PI-bad-balancing and we having very different stat car drive in a small track.

I can drive near checkpoint flag but there is a guy with a covette is coming I dont want to swing him off track. I intent left space there.

=========

the problem is this game track design. It is design to drive ON the inner flag (cut track) to get fast.
Then if I near someone, me or other people are gonna smash off checkpoint. (lag or un-sync etc)
If I drive clean it mean slower for me and other player. Then the 3rd guy from back are gonna dive into us.

In result
Best way to drive fast and get away from back-ram. Is compeletly ignore other people in the track.

we saw people brain-dead following the “perfect racing line” and swing people to wall
Push people from behind in section because it is faster/safer than side-over-take

It never end. It is simply a bad design.
