Is there anything that can done to stop these people from ruining every race by ramming on every corner and pushing you out of checkpoints as you try to overtake them, it is the epitome of frustration
Let them go ahead of you, and trade places with clean drivers, or focus on your driving/lines and try to see what you can do for your suspension tuning to make your car faster/easier to drive once the adventure is over.
Or just stop using anything multiplayer that does not have ghosted opponents. Eventually when the multiplayer side of the game dies off from customer dissatisfaction the devs will figure out that their vision is misguided. Since they only really listen to the 1% elitists nothing ever gets fixed but there is no decent alternative on the platform for people to move to.
Of course the best thing that could happen to the franchise is that a competitor comes along that smokes Forza on every aspect of game play and they have to innovate or become irrelevant, like Project Gotham.
No, that’s not fun. Ghosted opponents is a stupid way to race because everyone is always only 1 spot away from first. They need to fix this game because it has NEVER been this bad. I really believe its gamepass that caused this game to be atrocious for multiplayer. Bunch of 10 year olds playing the game who don’t care about racing clean. It’s the only thing I can think of that makes sense because through Horizon 2 and 3 you could actually race. You’d obviously come across the occasional wall rider or dirty driver but they never won and you could easily retaliate. Now they always win and now it feels like 90% of the people I race try to push you wide when you go to pass them. It’s really pathetic and infuriating.
That being said, I do not want entirely ghosted races for the reason I mentioned above. I use balanced cars which benefit from drafting and also when everyone is ghosted there is no challenge to having to pass someone else. If you want that just do rivals.
yeah im not playing ranked anymore, its just cancerous rammers and that god awful free form beeline-across-the-map-and-be-the-one-who-doesn’t-hit-a-tree tut
I think rammers throw less of my races than I throw with my own mistakes or poor tunes, or lose to Daytona coupes. I still take the Toyota Baja in every cross country S900 because it’s the most suited vehicle by far, drives great. IMO, it’s Playground’s fault for not including at least a couple of similar trucks.
It’s obvious that this is how PPG/T10 intend the game to be. How many Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport games have there been? And in how many exactly have they penalized ramming and wall riding?
I’ve been lurking on the forums for a bit for unrelated reasons and noticed this.
You know, lower classes have been completely ruined by the big trucks that you just can’t do anything against. If you try to get close to them you just get punted across the map and theres your race.
I just had a 7 player A class ranked battle, cross country, I had a subaru, against 4 RAM TRX and another 2 Toyotas. This is frustrating.
I understand this game is arcade-y, but this truck meta just ruins the whole thing.
it was the only winter car I had setup.
anyways, the point is, trucks are OP even on circuit with the current state of wall riding. frustrating, to say the least.
Has anyone noticed the lack of Road Racing events in S1/S2-class ranked solo adventures? I’ve been keeping loose track of the events I’ve run, and the only Road Racing events I’ve encountered were A-class; in S1 and S2, all the tarmac events have been Street events with no walls. Of course, other drivers can still push you out of a checkpoint, but I quickly learned to attempt overtakes in between checkpoints to minimize that risk.
Ghosting is not the solution. That would be essentially running time trials, not multiplayer.
The solution is more wall friction, and penalties for ramming. Surely the game could calculate force of player-on player contact and determine who initiated the contact. If that force is above a certain reasonable threshold, slap a penalty like 100 power cut for that player for 5 seconds. That’ll learn 'em.
How do you calculate the game to those who get right next to you at the same speed and try to take you off the road before going through a checkpoint? They alight like a butterfly without suddenly colliding with you.
Yesterday I lost 3 rounds and today 2 of 3 by players who do not stop ramming when they reach sharp curves because they do not want braking, they directly use the player in front or the fence to brake and when there are not those who try to get you out of the road when you will go through a checkpoint… I lost all the progress of the level where I am in 5 rounds because of bad players.
Ghosting is the solution, that each one wins by his way of driving and not by harming other players.
Ironically the game currently ghosts corner dive bomb rammers so they can drive through the carnage they just caused…
I honestly don’t mind that type of rammer much, it’s the ones who push you out of a checkpoint or into a tree on purpose that are the real problem. The only solution would be full ghosting but as said by others, that would throw the baby out with the bathwater imo and make the game too sterile.
Probably a newbie question, but doesn’t going into Difficulty Settings and changing Damage & Tire Wear to Simulation impact car performance? Can this not be forced as a setting in multi-player races? To me this would make sense in making people (who want to actually place) think twice about damaging their own vehicle.
Cars would get damaged just going over jumps and bumps. Also it would hand griefers the ability to end your race by shunting you into a tree. Plus in freeroam rush, hitting objects is part and parcel. Currently it’s an annoyance which loses you a bit of time, but with full damage on, your car would be wrecked. Bad idea.
