Forza Motorsport 6 Features Wish List

Like everyone here, I find myself extremely frustrated racing on-line. What should be amazing turns out to be awful all too often. Typically I’m in R class racing a host of miss matched vehicles but that’s another story. I think I have some really good ideas on how we can improve on-line game play for all classes so the driving experience matches the reality the game is trying to create with the cars and tracks themselves. These aren’t huge development dollars and should be reasonably easy to implement.

Suggestions:

  1. All cars, no matter what view, have access to a rear view mirror. The recent upgrade is a patch but not in keeping with a realistic experience.

  2. Create a post race drivers report to include recognition for:
    *Best finish in division
    *Most passes
    *Most collisions
    *Most clean laps
    *Most laps led
*others I may have missed germane to critical racing stats, this would be easy and interesting and create a ‘race within the race’.

  3. Black flags - Again, in real racing (GT) if you are part of preventable accidents you get black flagged. Two high-speed collisions and you go dead stick to the pits and can’t quit the game until the game ends. If we want realism this is it. Clean up the racing. Very few people would want to be black flag before even getting to turn one. In addition, the algorithms can be smart enough to recognize high speed versus low-speed contact which is mostly fine.

  4. Driver ranking versus experience points. You shouldn’t be a level 4, jump in a Bugatti and race R class only to smash into every driver along the way. There should be some kind of earned ability to race in faster classes. It doesn’t have to be onerous but fair to the capable drivers already in those lobbies.

  5. Make voting to kick players easier to find so people who trash the experience can be rewarded properly.

  6. Have a few servers dedicated to ‘collision on’ racing so players can opt into more realistic racing if desired.

  7. Standing water is awful and not realistic game play, rain mode is fine, standing water has to go…

  8. Balance the R Class GT cars, the Corvette shouldn’t be slow, the Aston and GTR shouldn’t dominate that’s not realistic in anyway, there’s a ton of great GT3 cars nobody uses because of BOP issues. Why create all these great cars that no one uses?

  9. Give Hyper cars their own classification and out of R class racing.

  10. I don’t have a tenth suggestion other than to say, it wouldn’t take that much effort on Turn 10’s part to clean up the on-line experience. For all the investment in realism, to throw the on-line segment to the wolves makes no sense. No other game frustrates on-line users quite like this one does, indeed, no other game has people quite as dedicated to the sport both in real world and on-line applications. It’s my great hope that the game can realize it’s true potential by implementing some simple standards that will compel drivers to race with more respect for others and recognize more acheivements through the race. In the end this makes for better racers.

In my view, the car buying game could change in a few ways

1 Used car marketplace should come back

2 when you buy a car, you can choose the engine, body style and equipment level

Example 1 BMW e36 sedan or coupe

318is
325
328
M3

Example 2 Audi B5 sedan or station wagon

A4 1,8turbo FWD or 4WD
A4 2,8v6 FWD or 4WD
S4 2,7biturbo
RS4 2.7 Biturbo

in this way, the content of the game more

Free Play is better now, but i wish we could set the Performance Index level of all the cars in the custom race to be the same, or at least near the same level. Every time i bring in an upgraded car, the game puts me right in front, so the only way to make it ‘fun’ is to use the LONG SHOT mod, which puts me in 24th place.

Well, they could put in some sort of qualifying system but that might be too complicated now? Just let the user pick the minimum performance index in Free Play, or just let the playing field be more level.

When tire width is upgraded, the tires widen to the outside. & fender flares. They dont have to be brand specific i would think. It would help the cars look more like race cars i think.

It would be really great to have the auction house back in the game

Hi!
I was playing Forza since FM4 and I really loved the auction house and that we could place bid on cars .
I was wondering if there is any chance that it will be brought back In Forza Motorsport 6?

Lower model specification OEM package, such as Skyline GTS and BMW 318.
Although in some models such as the Celica GT-Four are available, I want to prepare in more models.

Swap to low-performance engine than original, and removal of the turbo and supercharger.
I like the natural intake of the rotary engine, but it is rarely swappable models.

FWD swap of 4WD models. Such as the 3000GT and the Celica, I want to reproduce the FWD grade.

Ok here is a few features that should be added
1: more turbo sounds pls
2: when in forzavista when you start up a car make it just start up instead of 6 revs, it’s really annoying for me.
3: adding to number 2, make it so you can get out of your car in forzavista with the engine still on.
4: more engines in forzavista
5: more body kits and wheels
6: be able to lower cars further and add better camber options.
7: make engine upgrades visible in forza vista instead of always the stock engine.
8: better exhaust notes
9: be able to tint headlights and tail lights
10: be able to put decals on Windows
11: paint car badges
12: interior customisation (boost gauges, taco- metres, interior trim, roll cage colour, seats, materials gauge colours, etc)
13: more engine sounds
14: noticeable turbo boost, accelerating turbo sounds and actual big boost at a certain RPM
15: anti lag
16: bigger flames instead of tiny little spits of fire
17: exhaust muffler upgrades (titanium, stainless steal, straight pipe, exhaust coming out of the hood instead of the back)
19: rally tracks
20: change colour scheme of the engine for cars
21: better STi sounds pls :expressionless:
22: much more noticeable exhaust sounds/notes

That’s it for now, it’s a lot but that’s pretty much it
Thx!  :grinning:

How’s it going, Turn 10?
I love Forza, and I think that Forza 6 is fantastic and am looking forward to the next Forza game. However, I reckon that a few things could be considered for the next Motorsport installment.

Championships - The “finish third or better” thing does get old real quick. I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say that we’d much rather have each series as a points championship so that if something untoward happens, we aren’t held to restarting the race over and over. It makes the series’ more interesting overall.

Introduce Qualifying? - I don’t mind starting in the pack, but qualifying might be a fun addition to each race.

Allow us to pick our path in career - One of the things I liked about Forza 4 and 5, was you could start a series, do a race or two, then go to another series and race there, instead of having to do the series in set order, or being stuck in the same series until you complete all the races. It is the one thing that annoys me about Forza 6.

Fix the Vote to kick option - I rarely use this sort of feature, but sometimes, people who revel in ruining other’s fun, need to be removed. It is very weak in 6, so it could really do with sorting for 7.

Branding - One of the things I like to see on cars are branded tyres, such as the Dunlops on the V8s, or the Pirellis on the F1 cars. The only cars that have this are the NASCARs, and it does make them look awesome. I know it’s only cosmetic, but maybe in conjunction with the how tyres were upgraded in Forza 2, it could bring a new element to the upgrading of the cars as you choose the best tyre brand for your car instead of a generic option. A Nissan GTR with Bridgestones, anyone?

Damage - Up to Forza 5, if you damaged your car in a race, you had to pay for the damage. I liked this. Bring it back. it may even partially solve the problem of deliberate ramming in multiplayer.

Lapped traffic - Either ghost them, or bring in a flag system, so that if they don’t let the leaders pass, they get disqualified.

Disqualifications - If a racer hits a certain number of other cars at speed, spins other cars out, or cuts too many corners( Solving another problem here!) then they should be disqualified from the race. I think 3 strikes is more than fair. On their 4th breach, they could be given a stop/go penalty in the pits, and on a 5th breach, removed from the race altogether. It might make people think twice about ramming on purpose and cutting corners all the time.

Increase the garage size - Self explanatory.

Add windshield decals - One thing that race cars have is the strip on the front and rear screens with sponsors or the manufacturer’s name on. Maybe make it possible to edit these in the paint shop, and add our own to other cars? Many cars have their numbers on the windows and screens too. Maybe if we could add numbers and letters to the car windows and screens? Please?

So that’s what I reckon could improve the next Motorsport. Anyone else got any other thoughts?

Alright guys, I’ll get to the point. The Drivatars are really just a fancy name for programmed CPU opponents, and this is made no more obvious by the fact that they always take the exact same lines in both Forza 6 and Horizon 2 (where they also take the same shortcuts every time), they always are constantly turning into the player when they try to make their line, and they most definitely have a rubber-banding system put into place (this was especially noticeable in FH2, where some races would end in neck-to-necks every time the player ran certain race routes). So as there isn’t yet a Horizon 3 discussion thread, I’ve decided to drop this one here. All I want to say is that Turn 10 needs to figure out these Drivatar things, because in their current state, they are either programmed with certain human characteristics and don’t really learn from the player, or they are just computers with a dressed-up name. So in Horzion 3, the Drivatars should really drive differently from each other. For example, if I’m crusing around some open road in a hypercar like a Huayra or P1, and then decide to race a Drivatar in a car of similar stats, I should not-- and I repeat-- should not see that Drivatar in a LaFerrari go offroad to take a shortcut. It’s stupidly unrealistic, and the terrain of offroading definitely doesn’t suit a hypercar’s features. So Turn 10, please, if you come across this thread, consider fixing the Drivatars for Horizon 3 (which should be dropping soon!) so that each and every one of them has a different driving method, either offering the player a challenge or being extremely easy to beat (and not just in terms of a car’s letter stats). Every head-to-head, every sanctioned race should be a hair-raising, adrenaline-pumping experience. Also, don’t sanction the street races, that just takes the fun, outlaw style away from them. Please and thank you, that’s all I’ve got to say.

Can we see the overall leaderboards and clubs return? It would be nice to see who the best drivers in the world are with a single rank, as opposed to ranking us separately for nearly 100 different tracks.

Also, clubs are great for team events and numerous events. With forza getting into eSports and such clubs would be beneficial in identifying drivers and allowing us to grow our virtual “brand”

I think sticky grass should make a return. The Barriers have proven to be visually unpleasant and inneffective at best. Back in forza 4, you’d learn what happened when you went off and you’d be sure not to make the same mistake again.

The features that I would like to see return, added or improved in no particular order.

  • Custom public lobbies - Storefront- with a similar system to that of Forza 4 - If a storefront system is reintroduced then make it so we can see other peoples storefronts whilst in a lobby - Clubs - Overall leaderboards - A visual vote to kick, the system we have now is useless - Lobby chat that actually works - Add filters to the leaderboards so we can filter them based on individual cars and car divisions etc - A system to report replays without lumping all the work on a volunteer. - Add a system to deter corner cutters, reintroduce sticky grass, time penalties or another solution if you can think of one. Something needs to be done - Add the option to see split times during a race for the cars directly behind and in front - The option to privately share cars, tunes and paints between friends like it was in previous Forza’s - Make it so we can see all our tunes in one place to make it easier to delete them without having to get in each car. - Integrate the Forza hub better within the game, a lot of people don’t know about the events held in the game because they don’t visit the website or look at the current hub. - Introduce multiplayer stats again so we can see the amount of wins, podiums and average finish position (separate stats for leagues and hoppers preferably) - Overhaul the spectator mode (make it more like watching F1 on TV) so we can see a hud with current positons and split times etc - Warning system for lapped drivers either blue flag or on screen notification and just ghost them in hoppers - Dynamic weather and therefore a reason for different tires - Improve the new pit lane HUD, make it so you can bring it up with a button and so that it is less intrusive - Improve the track voting system in hoppers, too many times the track options are too similar or come around too much - Separate the race cars into their own divisions, most purpose built race cars are currently useless outside of leagues - Improve the track boundaries they are a joke on some tracks - Make it so we can get a better look at other racers livery’s in lobby

Changes for the league system hopefully to improve participation particularly in pinnacle.

  • If car clubs were to be reintroduced then I would like to see a club leaderboard for each league so we could see team performance
  • An overall leaderboard to keep track performance across leagues, for individuals and clubs
  • Improve the points and leaderboard system to better represent average performance rather than amount of time played
  • Improve the description of each league so that we actually know what the restrictions are and what cars we can use without having to look on the forums.
  • Fix the fastest lap grid order function- currently it often puts new drivers at the front of the grid also laps dirtied by drafting should still count for grid order purposes
  • Possibly introduce an in game next league vote system in the menu so we actually get leagues people want to race in

Lastly one of the smallest and yet most infuriating things please, please get rid of the player quit notification in races I do not care if someone has quit!

I’m just waiting for there to be an actual realism mode where there’s pace cars actual damage and a standard put down and enforced to stop people from taking advantage of BS racing lines that they make up and stop with all the arcade style racing. I would play this game so much more than I do if there were a racing league devoted to realism with qualifying and penalties. And why is there always a 50 lap limit or if you do a timed race does it just end abruptly without you getting to do your official final lap. There’s so much more that would make this game better and make me want to play it again and comes down to the little details of adding the realistic elements into the game. Also the day/night cycles not being in the game is very disappointing considering the horizon games had this in the first installment and it was open world. Now we are dealing with one track at a time and there’s nothing even close to a real day to night cycle or changing weather. And please fix the tires/suspension. The suspension feels like bricks and the tires feel like butter.

I would like to see forza motorsport bring rally into the game. Or so more rare cars or so 3 wheeled vehicles in it

Something needs to be done about how DLC’s are done. Right now I have my best car that I can’t even race MULTIPLAYER on Homestead. Why force everyone to use a Nascar car?

With it like this I will never be able to race my best car on Homestead. Its not in the normal rotation of tracks due to others not owning the DLC, and the DLC itself won’t let me choose any other car to race on Homestead. That is just stupid.

Long time FM player here just ranting really about the lack of User created lobbies that are searchable (like FM2 and FM4 had)

For those that have run the public hoppers, we all know the frustration of the pissed off teenager, or bored ect. who just plows/over aggressively blocks and ends up ruining the race for others in the lobby. The solution to this was in Fm4, with the searchable lobbies to hop into a user created game through FM’s multiplayer UI and usually find a great room with clean racing, or at-least clear communication! Im not so much concerned with WHY this was taken out of FM5/6, but as a “hardcore” FM player, Id love to be able to get it back as a feature in Fm7, and im curious on the thoughts of others in the community, as surely I cant be the only one who misses these?

I still race/game with some of the players I met back in FM2/4’s lobbies, and miss being able to form those FM player relationships.

Here are some features that would make Simulation a bit more realistic:
• Brake fade: Brakes start to fade depending on how much you ride your brakes, how much hard braking you do, etc.
• Clutch damage: The clutch should get worn overtime and start to wear how many times you press the clutch in and out and when you go under hard acceleration and what not.
• Transmission damage: Same as clutch damage stated above, it should wear under hard acceleration and similar situations and wear overtime.
• Driveline damage: Simple wear down from driving.
• Engine damage: We already know of the overreving. It would be a great addition to Froza to start damaging your engine if you keep it at redline for too long, say add 1% per 10-15 seconds after a set amount of time before it starts to damage.
• Suspension damage: Damage to suspension when bottoming out for too long or abrupt hard landings causing suspension to fully compress (For example, taking a low car around an oval and suspension constantly being fully compressed).

Other features that should be added back:
• Auction house
• Gift cars, tunes, and paint iobs.
• Clubs
• Open to public custom lobbies
• Time penalty like in forza 2 or 3, adding time to your lap time instead of making your time dirty.

Paint feature:
• Ability to mirror vinyls and vinyl groups in the same section to reduce manual placement time.
• Ability to plane a vinyl(s) on a section and have it run off into other sections of the car. For example, if I’m placing a vinyl on the right side and its cut off by the top section, I should be able to have it run off into the top section to prevent having to try to line up the vinyls on the top with the side and they don’t line up at all.
• Ability to color vinyls with special colors (Matte, Semigloss, metallic, etc).

Other features:
• Bring back manufacturer based swaps. Fords with other ford related swaps, GMs with GM swaps, Dodges with mopar swaps and so on. I don’t like having to swap an ls1 into a Ford, it’s just not right.
• More tuning aspects: Changing boost with forced induction, Adjust tire pressures and camber/toe individually instead of front and rear.
• Ability to choose different looking brake discs for race brakes. Drilled, slotted, or the carbon ceramic solid discs. And change brake caliper color and possibly add brake manufacturer logo (Brembo, Baer, Wilwood, etc.).
• Change headlights and taillights (Bulbs and style). For example, putting Halo projectors on some cars.
