That’s as close as you’re gonna get, but it’s a pretty emphatic statement that more content is coming and will feature heavily for the future of the game.

I usually try to be positive, but I can´t help it, my hype-level goes down with every new bit they show.
Turn10 managed to dish out solid-to-great games every two years for almost two decades, usually including at least some small innovations. Really impressive work, probably the most reliable Xbox Studio.
This time they had six years, so naturally expectations are bit higher than usual. They even changed the serial naming to highlight it.
But what´s on the plate?
Only 20 tracks, the majority old ones. Including an Oval not many people outside the USA care about.
A new fantasy track, which must be the visually most unspectacular thing they´ve delivered in, well, a decade. New fantasy tracks have always been the big graphical showcase. Grand Oak certainly isn´t.
Still the same old steering animation, which is easily outdone even by an Arcade Racer like The Crew Motorfest.
Still the same mirror-like look in hood view, despite RT.
The Pitstop shown in today´s vid had one single mechanic working on the car? Blurred out to make it less obvious? Not really doing anything either.
Frankly, I don´t understand what they have done with those six years.
If the physics are good it can still be a solid racer. But going by what they´ve shown so far, it´ll come in way below what I had expected from Turn10 with so much more production time at their hands.
No you’ve got your timings wrong.
“You will have anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes or more to get your practice laps in AND Qualify depending upon when you joined the event”
Practice and Qualifying are not distinctly separate timed sessions.
You jump into pracrice and then switch to Qualifying when you’re ready (or run out of time and game forces you to) and set your lap. In the demo seen today, they had 3 hot laps available for Qualifying.
The races seen were 7 to 8 laps long, but they also point out they could be very different, we’re going to get a range of races here.
You can also join a race up to 5 mins before the actual race, so your session can be as short as 7 laps + 5mins or whatever (if longer race).
Having to wait up to 30mins for a new race isn’t the worst thing. The community has been screaming and banging down the door demanding proper race weekends, and Turn 10 is delivering in the most efficient means possible.
Your view on everyone going Private I just don’t think makes sense. You need 24 friends all available at the same time to get a full grid. You and a few friends on your own are going to have a boring time.
Or it could be 4,988 collision types? I think it’s pretty evident that trying to determine at fault collision programmatically is an immensely difficult thing to do to be as simple as you laid out.
The enormous permutations of potential collisions and the nuances to them and applying fault no doubt required them to run many simulations to reliably determine fault and penalty.
I think you’re being pretty cute and cynical with it. Sure it won’t be perfect and might not turn out to be the best thing, but the beauty is it will be refined as they capture more and more data. That 5,000 might turn into 10,000.
If you can jump into a public private lobby then what precisely is the problem? You get to jump in and race whatever you want.
At fault collision isn’t easy. ACC doesn’t even try. People routinely complain about GT7 producing bizarre results.
Sure, I totally agree it is ALL in the implementation and I also agree what we saw today didn’t help because we didn’t see any penalised incidents which is a big shame. I also agree we haven’t seen much detail to this point either (the AI racecraft last month for example) so I do see where you’re coming from.
A healthy level of scepticism sure is fine, I just think you’re at risk of going off the deep end here (just as we don’t want to be overly optimistic either).
Got some answers, but not all. My questions mainly come from the perspective of somebody who hosts club events every week.
Will all multiplayer events (including custom lobbies) require players to level up cars and unlock upgrades?
Sounds like they will, outside of spec racing. Made a thread about it.
Will public custom-made player lobbies be searchable via a lobby/server list, like they were in Forza Motorsport 4?
No answer, presumably no.
Are rolling starts supported in multiplayer?
No.
Will players be able to create timed races and if they are, will they work similar to real-life in that players have to complete their current lap to finish?
Yes on timed, no answer on how they finish, presumably the same as Forza Motorsport 7.
How have the vehicle collision physics improved since Forza Motorsport 7? In previous titles, cars felt very light when making contact with one another, causing them to easily spin out of control in certain scenarios.
No answer.
Will players be able to save lobby presets to make the creation and hosting of custom multiplayer races easier?
Yes.
Will Forza Motorsport feature Clubs and if so, what features will they have?
No answer, presumably no.
Will custom lobby hosts be able to limit who joins their races based on driver/safety level?
Unknown. No such options appeared in the footage of menu options.
Is there an area of the game where we can freely upgrade cars (ie: without being tied to the Car Mastery system) in order to explore, test and competitively balance them?
Sounded like a no.
Will there be a way for lapped players to be automatically ghosted?
Yes.
Will there be an option to ghost all players in a lobby for (only) the first lap of a race?
No, not lap specific.
Have any changes been made to the Vote to Kick system from Forza Motorsport 7?
No answer.
Will there be tools and resources in-game to each drivers proper racing etiquette?
No answer.
Will the “high speed collision predicted” ghosting system from Forza Horizon 5 be implemented into Forza Motorsport in any way?
No answer.
one question: you are present in every thread making criticisms of a game that hasn’t been released yet, you even criticize the multiplayer and shoot judgments without having the game in hand. thinking badly you look like someone who spends his days here just to criticize a game that hasn’t come out yet. Also many of the things you say are questionable. happy to be wrong but it just so happens every time a force comes out trolls pop out and throw accusations of all kinds. I repeat happy to be wrong…
Maybe some stuff reserved for Gamescon in less than 2 weeks. At least I expect something more revealed then.
It was really cut short here, so that’s why I felt this is the case.
Since this episode was multiplayer and mentioned Rivals, I really hope rivals is like on FM7, that no subscriptions like Live Gold, Seasonpass or anything needed for that.
I think it’s really fun way to see if ones driving skills improve or not. And don’t intend to go multiplayer.
These streams increasingly feel more like an attempt to justify and explain to an executive what T10 have spent the past six years doing with all of the money and resources Microsoft have given them rather than any actual effort to answer community questions or show and inform us about the new game.
Okay! You used Machine Learning. Care to demonstrate how that makes our experience better? footage of someone who is clearly driving using a controller with their feet
I don’t want to insult you, but since it seems that you and someone else have already “sentenced” forza. Come on I would say wait for the game to come out to make judgments. no one forces you to preload it. For me, I only find a defect after the turn 10 put all the things that were missing in the previous games (pittings, temperatures, mechanics, variable weathers) but the damages were definitively removed, when in the old generation the bumpers, mirrors, etc. came off. In two week will be the gamescon with forza, and i think many dubts will be clear. And for the" lack" of tracks and cars: this game will give many expansions, there are 30 cars in the next future, the tracks are with a new incredible level of details (see the threes for example) that requests many hours of work (dan greewalt told us that one track request one year of work!). I have very big hopes for the future, but only in october we ll have the finish game. If you read in the past the vision of Dan was a automotive game with continuos expansions. Is the right moment.
Seems like tuning and sharing tunes has been de-emphasized with the way car mastery and spec racing works.
How would a player even download a tune that contains parts they haven’t unlocked yet?
I haven’t really spent much time with previous Motorsports games but since this one will be available in Game Pass, I was going to give it a shot, but my favorite aspect of the Horizon games is the tuning and sharing tunes, but this doesn’t seem like it will have the same tuner community sharing vibe.
I’m still open to checking it out to see how things are handled in game but not sure if I’ll invest in the Game Pass premium upgrade package.
I blame part of that on the host. All she does is reply to every single answer of the devs with “Oh wow, that sounds amazing! I bet the players will love that!” They should really hire someone who actually plays Forza. That way they could actually discuss all the new features and developments in the new game. Right now the whole Forza Monthly stream is so one sided. It’s like they’re talking to a wall
Leah is just a host, she isn´t hired to do investigative journalism there.
It´s Turn10´s decision which infos they want to share or not, what they want to show or not.
At least she brings some energy to those shows, imo she does a really good job.
Yes i understand your point but at this moment we have the gamescon in around 2 weeks and the forza montlhy in september. I hope that the major answers will be clear, my concern is about the “damages” and the question about “seasons” because the idea behind this forza is not a game every 2 years but a platform with more and more updates. I hope in a future with introduction of various types of race. Time will tell
Mmm but videogames are luxury, modern aaa games request power and expensive pcs, there are the console and your critics about this “lack” of information is valid for EVERY GAME TODAY. i don t understand this type of critic, preorder a game is not mandatory and in this times is not a good affair (for example the last case of jedi game or cyberpunk 2077). Sorry in this case is not a problem to cancel some games from the ssd of the console or “my pc will have the specs?”
Nah, not true, especially not with racing games.
The Crew Motorfest releases after FM, yet customers could already test it in Beta, and there is tons of videos and infos.
Ride 5 has offered all the infos I could ask for a month ago, with a release in two weeks.
The whole Forza PR so far feels oddly obstructed.
They had a whole segment about AI already, yet I know nothing about it. Why do you talk about AI and choose to not show a race, so we could see how it works in a gameplay context?
Why is every track introduction video super short, basicly showing nothing?
It´s a racing game, the most natural thing would be to show … racing.
That said, I am a gamepass subscriber anyway, so I have no stress in terms of investment.
It´s just that I am worried about one of my favourite franchises ever.
I’ve played Crew 1 and 2, I can’t take that franchise serious until they allow the option to change button layouts. Shifting with LB/RB just feels wrong. It may not seem like a big deal but being able to put your shift up and shift down buttons exactly where you need them is important to a lot of us.
Crew and NFS feel to arcadey as well. The Forza drive system is simply second to no one and that makes it king of the castle in my eyes.
You’re still able to share tunes but it seems now you need to level up your car high enough to download more advanced setups:
this car levelling thing. Let’s just say it had better work. I look at that image and I have no idea what I’m looking at.
I think if you want to download that tune you need at least Car level 15. Happy grinding!
