Just a reminder to everyone, that if you want your requests to be actually considered, make a legit wish list in the suggestions area. Otherwise, you’re just shouting in an empty void.
I don’t actually think any of these posts are going to be considered, otherwise we would have seen them already in the past. Just being a semi-troll at this point…lol.
Something happened with licensing prior to release (as we saw the Stratos in the pre-release gameplay videos) and, for whatever reason, Microsoft/PG chose not to renew the license so quickly.
In contrast to Mitsubishi in FH4, which they rushed to renew, right?
Because the kids and casuals who make up the majority of the 20 million who opened the app at least once care more about Evos and Eclipses than Alfas. Sad but true.
I think a lot of cars we used to have in older games are just being withheld so they can slowly drip feed them to us week after week via the playlists. So they can brag about new content without actually having to… make a lot of new content.
Like that M-B 300 SLR we just had to earn 160 points for (or buy for 143,000,000). After all, it was available in the FH4 autoshow for 8mil, LOL.
Nothing screams FUN like working hard to earn a car that was easily available in the autoshow in a previous game.
That car was a kick in the groin.
Playground casually mentions how the price is what it is because of the Uhlenhaut coupe (which isn’t even the same car!). And faces no criticism for it.
Meanwhile, that other franchise tied the price of the cars in-game to their real life counterparts and was, fairly, criticized for it.
I don’t understand why people excuse everything Playground does. Or choose to ignore this stuff.
Precisely. I swear I’m like one of two people who actually found Horizon 5’s economy more borked than plentiful. In Horizon 4, the most expensive vehicles were 10 million credits, which took time to grind for, but not so much that you felt like you were trying to do the impossible. In Horizon 5, however, we suddenly have baloney prices like the asking price for 300 SLR, and even before that baloney, the next most expensive car 40 million credits, and the one after that was 20 million credits.
I mean, I’m all for adding proper progression to Horizon, but that’s mostly in regards to how the campaign races are structured (D-Class and C-Class events eventually giving way to S2-Class events). I don’t mind cars being given out willynilly because it means I can sample every car at least once since Horizon lacks a free play mode. But setting a price that high is just too much a tall order, especially Playground went out of their way to nerf the economy so much.
The only upside is that most of the super pricy cars show up as seasonal rewards or forzathon shop items eventually. I’ve been patient, and have gotten most of the expensive autoshow cars without having to spend any credits.
I think the most expensive car I have left to get is the Jaguar D-type. And I’m not prepared to do the work needed for the accolade that awards it for free. So I’ll either keep waiting for it to show up as a reward, or I’ll break down and buy it eventually.
Agreed. But it goes deeper. Games like Forza Horizon and Gran Turismo don’t really have progression anymore, because they focus on a slim career (so the players can “get it out of the way” as quickly as possible). The casuals will be happy to beat the game in a short amount of time and the more dedicated players will be happy to finally get into the monthly loop where PG and PD throw players little bits of content every month with the odd larger update every 6 months.
I can’t shake the feeling that the “Uhlenhaut” debacle is/was in direct response to how GT handled cars of the rare variety in the most recent game. “Based on real world prices” is a bit of a farce, since the economy of both games is broken, and will never be fixed. Fortunately, the 160 pts required during the season was easy enough to obtain by week 3, let alone all 4 weeks.
I’ve said this many times, but I have been reduced to logging in once a week (Thursday) to collect cars. Maybe a couple other times to compete with the “Rivals” bunch. That’s it, that is all this game has become for me (and many others).
I would have to agree. There seems to be a serious decline in the number of online players & general participation in group events across open racing, arcade, etc. from what I’ve seen. I’d be interested to know what the actual player stats are looking like these days.
If stats like that were released, the would blow a hole in the facade that is “2 million player-base” we’ve heard so many times. I was told by someone on the forums that accolades aren’t indicative of the actual player-base. To me, some of those accolades are “trip and fall over them” types. It sends a loud message when some of those super easy accolades are only completed by 2% of your player-base.
Not to mention how far the numbers are erroneously skewed due to modded accounts & achievements.
Right! I’d imagine in a weekly stretch, there might be 100k (and I’m reaching here) total accounts logging in, 25% of those are baloney hacked or 2nd accounts.
Or 3rd or 4th accounts from what I’ve seen in some of the activity unfortunately.
To be fair, that other franchise had no way for you randomly win (spins) its most expensive cars, nor was it as easy to obtain cars as it is in this game. That is why that other franchise got lambasted for that decision. At least recognize that we have a completely different economy and prize system in this game that makes acquisition super easy. …this is not a hard game to succeed at.
I think FH5’s economy is much better, even with the nerf.
All I basically do is the playlist every week… I have all the cars, most the legendary and rare things, and sitting on 123mCR. I auction or sell my duplicates. I’ve even bought a couple 20m cars that I wanted.
I don’t really do anything other than that, and when I play and I’m not working on the playlist, I’m just painting, tuning, and cruising the map online. …not doing rivals, or online races or anything that would earn CR/XP/REP faster.
I just don’t see it when people say it’s harder to earn things (in their various forms) in this game.
I think it’s been much easier, even with the nerf, and No I didn’t exploit spins, and never did the willies thing at launch.
Broken doesn’t necessarily mean “hard”, too easy is just as broken, as it leaves people wanting more out of the game and feeling let down as a couple of months in (when many started to complain), they had everything the game had to offer…
Imagine the torrent of complaints if they hadn’t put the Merc into the monthly series and only made it avail to purchase for 143 mil.
I’ve read this entire thread, this is exactly what it is:
Player set 1: “game is too boring, doesn’t have enough challenge, not enough stuff”
Player set 2: “game is too hard, takes too much effort, I don’t have this much time to grind”
There is literally zero middle ground in this thread, but Me.
You all go fight at the edges of your extremes… I’ll be here enjoying the game and not having any issues with it being too easy, or too hard. Neither of which I actually think it is… for what it ism and is supposed to be, I think it’s fine… that doesn’t mean perfect either so don’t go there.
You overestimate the ease of winning cars in wheelspins. You do have to play for a while, same as in GT.
Cars are easy enough to acquire in GT7, I have almost 500 just from playing.
What sets Forza Horizon apart is the auction house, but I’m not willing to pay 20 million to players who take advantage of whatever they can to artificially inflate prices. It hits you a little differently when it’s the game itself that’s charging this much like in GT.
The difficulty itself isn’t the problem, it’s the “play RIGHT NOW or this is gone until I DECIDE when to bring it out again” that plagues pretty much every racing game out there, and even some action games like those from Ubisoft. Gaming companies, particularly those which run subscription services, need to get a grip with reality.
I said only that we have another mechanism for getting even the most expensive cars in the game at complete random and for doing little more than just cruising - you don’t even have to play the actual game proper to get stuff.
I honestly think people that whine that everything in this game is too hard are the ones over estimating the games toughness. Which again, was basically my point: This game isn’t hard.
So just for grins: I’m 300hrs into FH5 and have literally everything you can win - all the cars all the collectible stuffs, all of it - all I really have left to complete in this game is all the remaining accolades. and whatever they push out every series/season… and I do a season in no more than 4 hours at my own lazy pace. I otherwise drive any car I desire, tune, pain, have fun, and pick and choose what I do. I have 124m credits and I don’t even play the AH or do any other gimmicky things.
So, how many hours in GT7 do you have? Are you basically at the end game? Have you acquired all possible cars? And, what have you been doing to do this and how much farther do you have to go?
