Forza Horizon's car roster has been on a downward spiral

Yeah, maybe……or playground/Microsoft have a poor relationship with Alfa/Lancia/etc.

Either way, I actually hope you’re right about them releasing them eventually. I actually saw an Alfa 4C drive by at the beach where I was at today….I was thinking “there’s another car missing from horizon 5”

i just watched the latest Jay Leno’s Garage on YT this morning and he featured the Cyan Volvo P1800, which got me to thinking that since we have Volvos in the game, it would be nice if they added more than the three we have such as the early 60s P1800, S60 and others. the brand does have a racing division and it would make sense to add some of these into the game.

You mean like the one we already had in FH3?

And you’re doing the same thing; making assumptions about licensing without facts.

So, what proof do you provide to show that anything you think is true? Why is this -all- T10/PG’s fault? You say “they didn’t negotiate” meaning, there are TWO sides to this and for some reason those of you that whinge the most about why they didn’t buy what licensing always lay any and all blame squarely on PG/T10 for apparently “not throwing so much money at car companies that they capitulate and give up their own rights and brand” HAHAHAHAHAHAH Stop it. It’s ignorant.

Maybe just maybe, the manufacturers didn’t want to sell the licensing, and maybe PG/T10 was only prepared to offer X because they have more of that “buying licensing” cash freed up for cooler newer cars that you want?

I just don’t get why so many people are choosing Alfa as their hill to die on for proof that PG/T10 “doesn’t care about licensing” or whatever dumb argument this is supposed to be.

You know what else is ignorant? Throwing insults like a child…

Ignorant = you don’t know, or understand.
This is a fact, you demonstrated in your post.
It’s not an insult to not know something, it just means you’re uninformed.

But you do you, call it an insult to ignore it and not address the facts.

You refute, without providing your own “facts” in an insulting way. Since you know so much, how about providing some actual information that backs up your claim?

Providing context:

As well as:

You and most people: WHAAAA FORZA DEVS DUMB AND LAZY AND CHEAP JUST DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON CARS I WANT WHAAA NO OTHE REASON STUPID DUMB DEVS.

Me: offers just as many other possibilities that could cause cars we want not to be in game that are more reasonable than the above position that don’t involve basically insulting everyone that works on the game. (while you talk about name calling and etc…LOLOLOLOL)

Basic.

LOL

I never said any of that. Now your trying to mix someone else’s words with mine.

I edited my post above yours with answers that I have seen out on the web. Especially since Assetto Corsa had been very open about how they acquired licenses for particular vehicles. Trying to individually license 700+ cars would be a nightmare for any legal department. Group licenses are the most logical path.

…and none of what you posted disproves what I said does it? Negotiations are a two sided thing aren’t they… you have assumed that the only reason we don’t have cars is that Forza team is just being spiteful idiots and don’t want to spend the cash on them.

That is the context and basis of this whine.

You’re making up reasons for things you don’t actually know… we’re both speaking in context here, it’s a matter of which context is most reasonable.

Forza is being meanies and doesn’t want to pay for cars you want is your stance here, that is unreasonable. your reasons for why they should still have car x is irrelevant, they don’t have it and that was a choice that not just Forza devs make.

I never bemoaned any of the developers, never directed any insults at them. I provided a logical explanation for missing vehicles.

You: “they just must not want too - see how easy it is”
Me: there are probably more nuanced reasons than that, and saying its as easy or should happen while an opinion isn’t the ONLY opinion.

And yeah, your tone was accusatory and acting as if getting licensing is just something they didn’t want to do. And the reasons why you think they didn’t don’t really matter, you don’t know, and neither do I…

…the difference between you and I is this: you are absolutely sure you’re right.

You also assume that every contract Forza signed for licensing was “in perpetuity” and I doubt that, brand ownership is a huge thing in the corporate world, companies are doing more and more to protect their brands…

The idea that maybe Alfa asked for too much or required too much for licensing just isn’t possible to you…

Why?

My tone, in text form…that’s funny. You have no idea what “tone” I was taking, talk about making assumptions…

Hard decisions have to be made when it comes to licensing, I’m sure both of us understand that. A budget is calculated and the choices are based on that. So, the idea that they turned away from certain licenses is pretty obvious.

As of “perpetuity”, no I know that’s not the case. It’s the same with many other racing games, both sim and arcade. Though, EA did do the “perpetuity” once, with Porsche that lasted for a number of years.

All I ask is - bring back the Monaco . . .pretty please . . .?

Too racy for Horizon for my taste. The Cien on the other hand would be a very welcomed return.

With all the EV hype lately, why haven’t we seen this one?

I do like the Cien, but this I think this car looks seriously cool too and the trailor looks like they ripped it straight from FH.

I hope it actually sounds that angry.
