Forza Horizon Syncing Issues

So i recently got a new xbox since my first one had disc tray issues. And when i installed forza horizon 2, and went to sync my data, at first it didn’t work at all. Then it finally synced, but i had none of the data from my previous xbox, although i was signed into the same account. Is their anyway for me to get my data back or at least transfer it from my old xbox too my new one? I have tried to delete and install the game and the data and re sync along with deleting my profile and re adding it. Any help will be great! Thanks

The resync for Forza games when you get a new console takes hours (my guess is allow 2 hours for it).

When you say it was not working what was happening? It often looks like nothing is happening but in actual fact it is - you just need to leave it to do its thing.

It takes a little while, but syncs just fine, but everytime it syncs, it doesn’t sync any of my previous data, so i start back at the beginning with nothing, when i had ALOT

NOOOO!!! You may have ruined your sync file.

The game can take quite a while to sync because of the large file size. My save data is close to 70 MB. When I began playing on my second console yesterday the save data there was only at 40 MB. It takes a while to sync and it may show 100% done, but it’s still working it is not done.

I find the best way to be sure it is finished is to (while it’s syncing) dashboard and check the size of your save data in the My Apps and Games menu. With lots of tunes and paints your file size can be even bigger than mine. My sync last night took around 45 minutes - but I just find something else to do until then because I value my save data.

If you begin anew and let that sync to the cloud it will overwrite your previous save and you will lose everything. Patience is key, and maybe one day this forum can sticky a thread at the top with instructions on how to sync game data since it seems most people don’t know how or do it incorrectly. Another solution would be to simply have a pop up appear and tell you that the game is still syncing, please be patient and wait since clearly Microsoft has no interest in using a system similar to the Xbox 360. I know we can use externals know but I don’t think you can put your save data on one and simply continue using it from there as opposed to the cloud.

Well. i probably lost it then, but i 100% let it finish syncing before i did anything, it took awhile but it finished fully and still i had none of my data, and my data size is about the same size as my old xbox too, which would be weird if i had to start all over, is it possible that i have to finish the first cruise with the hurican and then the first race and i will get my stuff back after? cause it would be weird if the file size is the same as my new xbox and on my old, but i still start from the beginning

also, i played through the beginning race and then the next race after, it shows my skill chain score as it was before along with roads driven, but i still don’t have any of my cars, ranks or anything, i’m just so confused on what is going on, its like i have all my data, but its not showing up

It sounds like your leaderboard data is intact but your saved game data has been overwritten with a new save. If that has happened and your sync happens normally then sadly it means your cloud save and your local save are now based on the new start.
