Something I have never heard anyone mention is the addition of MOTORCYCLES. How incredibly fun would it be to be able to race street bikes/rockets, cafe racers, Chopper/Harley style bikes and things like that? It would be awesome to race a Yamaha R1 against my buddies twin turbo Dodge Viper! Or a BMW S1000rr vs a 1000hp Supra? Or a Honda CB750 cafe racer style bike vs a Harley? And how cool would it be to roll around in a group of bikes online with friends??? I’m certain the best street style racing game could pull this off quite well and with ease. This would also be a great way to pull in more cu$tomer$! Think about it! It’s like adding something like “storm island” except it would pull a much larger audience! EVERYONE LOVES MOTORCYCLES!
Also the option to change riders gear color would be cool(all black or all white). This would be a good way to keep yourself unique!
I can’t get over it now, it would simply be too cool.
(Just use this great idea, you can have it for free)
I would not like that at all…It just seems to cheapen the game. They did that with the last Project Gotham game and it stank. If I want to race motorcycles I’ll buy a motorcycle racing game.
Don’t get me wrong I love bikes, and I sure love my Harley Sportster, but in my experience a bike game just can’t do riding one justice. There’s just not a controller to give a player that leaning into a corner feeling. I’ve tried a few different bike games like Project Gotham, Moto GP and that old chestnut GTA4 (the Lost and the Damned gameplay) and riding a bike is just nothing like that. You just can’t get that riding a bike feeling with a game controller.
The only car games with bikes that I ever enjoyed, at all, were the Test Drive Unlimiteds (I’m pretty sure bikes were in both). Bikes would NEVER work in Horizon. I wouldn’t mind them trying it in the main series, but I just don’t see it working, at all, with Horizon’s physics model.
While motorcycles are fun to race, they should not race alongside four-wheel vehicles. If T10 wants to do motorcycles, they should create a third Forza series with only motorcycles, not put them in Horizon or Motorsport.
Well, they’d obviously have their own class(es), which means you’d be able to do motorcycle only races online, still have races restricted to certain classes of cars instead, as well as mixed / unrestricted stuff if you really wanted to open it up. I think an open world like Horizon is the perfect setting for motorcycles because there’s so much more to these games than just racing. And in a game that has events where you race against jets and other goofy stuff, it would be fun to challenge a friend in a quick point to point car vs bike race like that. I really got a kick out of the bikes update for Burnout Paradise, it’s a good time just tooling around on one in the same world by yourself, not even racing. For a game that glorifies car wrecks, it even handled motorcycle crashes well by simply cutting to black.
I don’t know how they’d make it work in a Forza game, but I would still be open to the possibility. Would love to see them try it if they thought they could do it justice. I would even be fine if they took any of the three existing Horizon maps and did a separate downloadable game specifically for motorbikes. None of this will ever happen of course so I’m not sure why I even bothered posting about it.
I don’t really see it happening anytime soon because of how much it would take to get it working well enough in the physics engine, I do think it’d be neat. I think it makes more sense for Horizon than Motorsport if it were to only be in one, because cars racing together is even less realistic than limo racing and whatnot, but Horizon isn’t about depicting realistic racing and already has cars racing aircraft and such in showcases. Series like Midnight Club, TDU, and PGR having cars and bikes together pretty well, so I don’t see why Forza couldn’t, and obviously every race wouldn’t be mixed (it sounds like with the Blueprint system they’re introducing, you would be able to play basically the entire game without doing mixed races if you wanted.)
